I ate lunch at 828 Pho today - funny, I didn't know it was 828 Pho; I've always called it Pho 828 :) This was my second time eating there - the first being over a year ago. The last time I ate there, I ordered their pho, which was pretty good from what I can remember. This afternoon, it was way too hot outside, so I didn't really feel like eating pho. Instead, I ordered the com toi bo luc lac (garlic rice with shaken beef cubes). It was a little pricey ($11) compared to the same dish at the Tan Hong Mai restaurant near my house ($6.25). It came with a salad, and the beef tasted good (I like how it had a peppery taste to it). I also got my favorite drink - Thai iced tea, which tasted refreshing. The restaurant is very clean, and I like the brown decor. There is a flat screen TV to watch while eating. It was not too crowded when I was there since I took a late lunch at around 2pm, but there were some customers, and I noticed that the restaurant attracts a considerable amount of non-Vietnamese customers. The staff there speak English very well and are courteous and helpful. Overall, I had a good dining experience there. I would recommend trying 828 Pho :) read more

During the lunch hour the little restaurant can get packed and it can be difficult to find a table, but that only means that their food is really good that it draws a following of clientele. The food is delicious, light and healthy. read more

Santa Ana is not known for its Pho. Since my move to Santa Ana, I haven't found a good Pho place. I generally went to Pho Vie in Westminster. So the time I went, it was really busy. Servers looked out of place. The food was average, so I have to keep searching for that hidden Pho gem in Santa Ana. read more

I go here often for lunch. Food is fresh, service is great. Besides the pho, they have a Vietnamese drunken noodles that is tasty. Sauces right at your table. And EVERYONE from work loves it...it's the #1 place for our office. read more

Pho was decent I would say. Better than some of the other places I have been to. The pho itself would be 3.5 but I took away .5 for the iced coffee. I asked if it was cafe su da and they said yes. What I got was not it. Would I go back? not likely. read more

As you can read from other reviews, it is a Vietnamese restaurant. I come here probably twice a month. The owners are really sweet, nice, and very attentive. The food isn't any different than any other Vietnamese restuarant. So it's a pretty typical Pho resturant. Th portions are a lilttle smaller than what you would expect for the price. I gave it a 3-star because of the pricing. It's relatively more pricey compared to other local Pho restaurants. I come for the conviences, so I don't mind paying a lil extra for that. It's rarely super busy, so your always get your food on time. They are very accomadating, and always making sure everything is okay with the dish. read more

I had been to a lot of different pho places and this place I would not return. It feel like a Vietnamese Panda Express like it doesn't feel like a traditional pho place I had been to before. The soup was not hot enough to cook my noodle, the stock didn't have much depth in flavor, slightly grainy, bit sour for my preference, and had to much cook blood. I have a feeling the cook blood is due to the bones or meat they use was not wash and dried before they stewed in stock. At the end this is my pallet and probably might not be the demographic the usually serve. The service was slow as well, but they were nice. read more

This restaurant is just as good today as it was when it first opened. The number 21 and 40 are my favorites. 21 is a filet mignon with garlic rice. It comes with salt n pepper that you squeeze a lime into, with which you dip your filet mignon. The combination is incredible and the meat melts in your mouth. Number 40 is a vermicelli rice noodles with barbecue pork and egg rolls and shrimp. Add the red pepper sauce and some plum sauce to the sauce thats provided and pour it all over your noodles. It's robust and tangy and served cool. Great for a hot day. These are my absolute favorite dishes there and I've tried pretty much the whole menu. everything is good but these, in my opinion are the best anywhere! I love this place! read more

Great pho and noodles. Great coconut water and tea. I go here at least 3 or 4 times a month. My only suggestion to an otherwise great restaurant: don't be so skimpy with your napkins! You get one napkin, and if you ask for additional napkins, you will get exactly one (1) more napkin. And no, it's not a nice, thick, absorbing napkin -- it is a small, flimsy, non-absorbing napkin like the kind they put in metal dispensers in fast food restaurants. You need napkins when you eat pho! read more

Pho is always always good, flavorful. I haven't had a bad plate here, ever. That says a lot about an establishment; consistency. I come here about once a month. They have Tofu, Chicken, Shrimp or Pork Spring Rolls. I've tried Chicken, and the Pork ones. Thai ice tea is ok, not the best. Credit card transactions must be over 10.00. It was my first time here and the food was amazing!! The only thing that needs ALOT of improvement is their customer service! The waitress or what ever she is didn't even acknowledge me walking in nor did the owner or manager (she was sitting up front not too sure who she is). When my food was brought out to me the waitress never followed up with me to see if the food was good or if I needed a refill on my water or if I needed any napkins. The waitress is cleaning tables right next to my table and still does not acknowledge me or ask if everything is ok. Sadly I've counted the times she's walked passed my table, which was literally 10 times, and yet does not say a word! I hope to be back and eat here again and hopefully their customer service is better next time around!!! read more

My boys are all about the pho life , not me so much. so I'm always missing out on lunch with them when someone yells Pho! the homies at work made me go and i already had it in my head that i was not going to like it . to my surprise they had way more food options than just pho. i order the rib plate but unfortunately they were out of it and the waitress kindly up graded my order to filet mignon at no extra cost !! a+ move . the salad was crisp , and the meat was on point .! Went to eat here yesterday and ordered their #33 vermicelli with shrimp! (The one with chicken was great as well.) Everything was really good and the shrimp was marinated in a really good sweet sauce, the only problem I had is that they only gave me six shrimp, but then again it IS shrimp.
