This is one of the smaller locations. There aren't as many pastry cases as their other bakery/cafes but the seating area is quite spacious. Just like any other 85°C you grab a tray and tongs and select whichever pastry items you want then pay at the register. It was early morning so I grabbed a strawberry jam bun and then went to the register where I also ordered a drink - a milk tea boba. The people behind the counter were all smiles. The bun was filled with a strawberry mixture that was mildly sweet. Sweetness at 85°C is muted (or as I call it, "Asian sweet"). The bun was fresh and soft. The milk tea boba was okay flavor-wise and the boba had an excellent consistency. This seems to be a quieter location, a good place to visit if you want to avoid crowds or if you want to easily find a place to sit and enjoy your purchase. read more

I don't know what was up with the staff when I went on a Friday morning but they were anything but reliable. I've come to this location plenty of times before and have had no issues until that particular morning. The cashier was clearly bored and didn't have any sense of urgency. In the hour we were there, I saw them making so many mistakes with people's drinks, they made McD seem like a 4 star restaurant. Mind you, we only ordered two, simple drinks - a sea salt coffee and a sea salt jasmine. And the sea salt jasmine had strawberry bits inside from cross contamination while they were making another drink. I watched customer after customer wonder why their drinks were taking so long and all of the staff - including the Hispanic woman who was either the shift lead or manager - were so aloof and couldn't care less about the customers. This lady who had been waiting a long time for a hot drink had them remake it because it didn't taste right and after maybe 10 mins (something that should've taken them at minimum 3 mins, ESPECIALLY because they had two baristas at the time) they came out with the remake but it still must've tasted bad because the lady ended up asking for a refund soon after. That's like 30 mins of her time wasted. And there was another guy who had ordered his drink a while back but needed to go use the restroom and you would think his drink would've been done by then but he came up to an empty counter and asked where his drink was. They just stood there, not knowing what to say or what his drink even was. They told him they'd make it for him "right now" but then had him stand there for another 10 mins as he watched other people who came AFTER him get their drinks first. The only reason why we were able to witness all of this was because our two simple drinks took more than 15 mins for them to make. I could've just hopped over the counter and made them myself. I have been coming ti 85 for almost a year and I can't complain about the coffee or bakery because is the best. However, costumer service is the worst. There is a lady who always has an attitude like every single day I'm there. She is Latina like me and when I tried to speak Spanish to her she just doesn't answer in Spanish. Today I grabbed the wrong coffee because I didn't have my receipt and I told her about it and she just got upset. My point is that she just does not have the right attitude to be in costumer service. Every time I go there I'm just trying to be respectful and pray she doesn't get upset. My friend has brought us baked goods from this place before and they have always been delicious! Since we live so close to this location now we decided to see it for ourselves. We were expecting to just see a bunch of baked sweets but there was so much more! Smoothies and boba tea and frozen treats as well as some savory pastries. Since it was around lunch time we decided to share a savory pastry so we chose the mushroom and cheese bread stick. The prices were incredibly reasonable too! The pasty itself was amazing!! I would have had another but we didn't want to fill up too much because we have afternoon food plans. But next time we will definitely make this our lunch spot with possibly a pastry for dessert! It would go so well with an afternoon tea or coffee. The location itself is clean and spacious. There are plenty of tables to sit at to enjoy your food or they can pack it to go. I really like the self service option because you can hand pick the pastry you want. It also made the line a lot quicker because people didn't get in line until they already chose their pastry. I am a regular at coffee Monday, where their house coffee is 85 cents (though I did prefer last year's sea salt coffee special, at under $1 let's no be picky) Both their sweet and savory pastries are delicious and baked fresh throughout the day. Their cakes are not just beautiful, they are also delicious, really I have loved everything I have had here and their prices are very fair. I have been to their location in Irvine a number of times and decided to check out this Tustin branch since I was in the area. It does not disappoint. The pastries were fresh and delicious, as always. There wasn't a wait time at all despite of it being on a Sunday. The cashier was courteous and nice, not just to me, but also to an adorable older lady that was taking her sweet time (no pun intended) making a selection and paying for her items. I really like this location. It much more spacious compared to the diamond jamboree location, and parking is not a hassle at all. Coming here isn't a chore and the lines aren't super long. They have the same selection as diamond jamboree but without the crowd. The savory breads here are very Good. A few of my favourites are the potato croquette, the cheese and potato pastry, and the hot dog pastry. I've had a few of their sweet pastries, and they were pretty delicious, too. I've been to the location in Irvine and liked it very much. It's just a bit out of my way. I drive by here every day and am glad they opened at this location. The selection isn't as good as Irvine but perhaps that will change in time. This is a soft opening. I saw cheese dogs in three spaces. I didn't notice anything with bacon. I ate the ham and cheese along with a cheese dog. They were both delicious. I enjoyed the black tea too. There's plenty of seating with some nice comfy chairs. There seems to be plenty of employees that are willing to help with any questions. I have a feeling this place will do very well. read more

At first I was super ecstatic to hear about them opening a store in tustin. I hated going to the one in Diamond Jamboree plaza because that place is a cluster F of crazy asians that dont know how to park. FYI I call Irvine the 2nd bolsa but of course with a bigger variety of asians than just Viet people and of course not as ghetto . So the first time I came here I was a bit underwhelmed since their selection of pastries was very limited. However, that didn't deter me too much since I was just happy that an 85 was near me. Than the 2nd time, again not as many selections but than the pastries looked smaller than the one at diamond Jamboree. The 3rd time was something else and so on and so forth. Each time I went, it got worse and worse. One time I went, I saw the workers rotate the bakeries from the plastic display case to a warming tray behind the counter. Great, I guess the turn around time for these pastries are so low that it doesn't make sense to keep making more but to rotate them back and forth so that the bread will be soft and warm? I even tried their famous sea salt coffee and even this is not as good as the one on jamboree. I kept reminding myself to not come to this location but of course it was such an easy draw since it was so close and I don't know of any other asian bakeries, besides creme pan, around the area. However, the last straw that broke the camels back was when I got their cakes. I remember this day like it was my birthday, it kinda was, and I came on Saturday Dec 21st at 1030am. I wanted to buy 2 cakes and asked if there was any vanilla/strawberry cake, anything but chocolate. The worker said there was one cake but it had vanilla mixed in with chocolate. I looked at her incredulously, there were 12 cakes and out of those 12 there was NO non chocolate cake? WTF?! I take that back about the straw breaking the camels back, this straw killed the camel. It was a very sharp and pointy straw. Anyway, I just had to get something so I got this chocolate bear with strawberry frosting, it wasn't that great, and a tiramasu. I looked again and actually there was a cake that was non-chocolate, there was a single slice of strawberry deluxe. Excellent, not. This place is terrible compared to the one on jamboree, besides bad parking. If I were to approach this from a newbie perspective, I would completely love this place. If I were a newbie to Asian pastries, I would love this place. If I didn't know any better, I would love this place. But I hate this place. read more

My wife and I went this morning for coffee and pastries. Very amazing place. The decor was very nice and the service was excellent. All the baked goods were fresh and yummy. It's like being a kid in a candy store with shelf after shelf of baked good. You pick up a tray and select your pastries. They have some seating both inside and out and a great selection of cold drinks specially made to order as well. They also have a kiosk where you can order and pay for your goods. Customer service was awful today. Waited 30 min for a drink. Two people in front of me. Seems extreme. The order taker after I told him 3 times medium proceeded to ask me again what size. :/ Come to find out after my drink was finally made which felt like an eternity to make (an older woman next to me even was complaining to me) had a mistake. They forgot the boba. While I was waiting I was standing a foot away from the cash register and I guess this seemed to irritate Mauricio (there was 4 people in the whole place) he asked me to stand somewhere else. Once I told him about the mistake to my drink that took a lifetime to make he proceeded to ask me for .50 for their mistake. The older woman gasped! I know it's hard to find good help these days but this just isn't it. The business will suffer. Hopefully the owners take the right steps to teach them customer service. This is by far the greatest 85* I've been to. I come in at least 3 times a week and all of the employees are always in great spirits - they make this stop the best part of my day! Desiree has my delicious iced latte ready when I come in and when she isn't serving me she is busy assisting other patrons and employees. She is so well versed on the menu, the app, and anything 85* related you'd think she started this franchise herself. Every one of the employees is dedicated to working their tails off to ensure a pleasant customer experience each and every time. The restaurant is always clean and the food is consistently delicious. Definitely my favorite location! You can easily find a parking spot in the vast parking lot and I even went during the lunch rush. There's so many shops / stores to satisfy anyone that may be with you. Inside the store everything was organized and inviting. I lost myself in the rows of display cases of pastries and fresh baked goods and everything looked totally delicious. I totally love that they wrap everything for more sanitary conditions. I left with four amazing sea salt caramel coffees and all were perfectly done!! The only reason I gave this location 4 stars instead of five like it should have had was the two staff that were working were rude and unprofessional. So I bought 2 curry croquettes last Friday 5/21/21. They were on sale, buy one get one half off. When I got home I realized that they didn't take off the half for the other croquette. Com'on, when you have a promotion, you better fixe it in your system so if your workers are not aware, they don't make mistake like that that would likely cost you stars. Then when I heated the croquettes to eat, the bread outside is ok but the inside is spoiled. The inside was bitter and a bit slimy. Yea, we know with this hot weather of CA in May, food get spoiled pretty easily. But if you keep selling bad foods, next time, next customer might not cost you just stars but a lawsuits. Ever since this location opened its been our family's go to location because of the convenience. Although the Diamond Jamboree location is closer, the parking situation there can be a hassle so its just easier to head to the Tustin location to just pick up a few items. Overall its the same stuff at Diamond Jamboree but the selection can get a little slim especially in the afternoon as this particular location does stop baking early as opposed to the Diamond Jamboree location which still bakes fresh pastries well into the after dinner hrs. One thing i especially enjoy is the app and the deals. Not exactly sure what im saving all my pts for, i wish they would have like a gift card option where you could use the pts to redeem for a full size cake or something so that i can use a large amount of pts in one shot. read more

I've been a fan of 85 for some years now and they always have delicious items to choose and pick from. You'll find that it's always busy here because it's so good! The beverage items are also good. I often get myself something cold like a tea or coffee. The staff here works as quickly as they can to serve the public. This particular location is in a busy plaza so parking can be tricky. Been here 3 times picking up cakes for special occasions. Yes cakes are good. Service needs improvement. Note to management customers should be rushed if theres no line or people waiting. I was looking at coffee menu as I was asked "is that all?.... ok your total is ....." I've gotten the mango mouse cake Tiramisu and the chocolate strawberry cakes At work so far every one has been happy and pleased with the taste. Frosting is just right touch of sweetness.
