    Hot And Sour Soup

Aberdeen was the first restaurant I tried after moving to Westchester, and it set the bar high. From the tea to the atmosphere, it instantly reminded me of my trip to Hong Kong--comforting, authentic, and elevated. I ordered the shrimp rolls, meatless turnip cake, hot & sour soup, veggie dumplings, chive dumplings, and (very ambitiously) General Tso's chicken. Every dish was delicious, but the chive dumplings were the standout--perfect texture, fresh flavor, and not heavy at all. I could've easily ordered more. The hot & sour soup was comforting, and everything felt well-balanced rather than greasy. I was too full to fully enjoy the General Tso's, but even a few bites were great. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and they validate parking (I thought it would be free, but it ended up being a reduced rate, which is still a great perk).

The Real Deal for Dim Sum in Westchester. If you're looking for white tablecloths and a fancy vibe, Aberdeen Seafood & Dim Sum probably isn't your spot. The decor is basic, and it's tucked inside the Marriott Residence Inn--you literally have to walk through the hotel lobby, hang a left, and look for the massive brass door. But if you're here for the food? You're in the right place. I've eaten my way through a ton of dim sum spots in NYC, and honestly, Aberdeen holds its own against all of them. The quality and freshness of the ingredients are just on another level. You aren't going to run into those annoying bits of rubbery cartilage or bone that ruin a good dumpling; everything is clean, fresh, and handmade daily. I'm actually drooling a bit just thinking about my last visit. Pro-Tips for Your Visit: * Timing is everything: Weekends are absolute chaos with lines out the door. If you can swing a weekday, do it--you'll walk right in. * The Waitlist: If there is a crowd, find the QR code near the entrance to jump in the digital queue. * Parking: It's all metered street parking. Make sure you have the Park White Plains app ready to go on your phone. * How to Order: The staff handles your drinks, but you'll use the QR code at your table to put in your food order. That said, the servers are still happy to answer questions if you're unsure about a dish. What to Order (and What to Skip) The Shrimp Noodle Crepe, Har Gaw, and both the Pork and Seafood Shui Mai are non-negotiables. I also highly recommend the Ham Sui Gok, Bean Curd Skin Roll, and the Steam Pork Buns. If you need some greens, the Chinese Broccoli is the way to go. One warning: Skip the soup dumplings. They're a bit small and lack that hit of broth you'd expect. If you're craving XLB, you're better off heading to Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao. Overall, Aberdeen is easily the best dim sum in Westchester and Fairfield counties. It's all about the flavor and texture here--the ambiance is an afterthought, and that's perfectly fine by me.

This visit was takeout at the request of our daughter, but it still reinforced why this spot has built such a strong reputation locally. Conveniently located next to the White Plains Marriott with access through the lobby, parking is manageable between street options and the nearby Barker Avenue lot. We ordered a wide assortment to share, including multiple dim sum selections, beef with broccoli, chicken with vegetables, Kung Po shrimp, and pork dumplings. The variety made for a well-rounded meal, with something for everyone. Portions were generous and easily fed the table without feeling like we needed more. The food consistently delivers, and it's easy to see why they've been recognized multiple times for their dim sum. Even as takeout, everything held up well and maintained its flavor and texture. Looking forward to dining in next time to get the full experience, but this remains a reliable go-to for quality dim sum in the area.

One of the only dim sum spots in Westchester that I've found so far and it didn't disappoint! It was authentic and delicious but the only thing that holds me back from going often would be the prices. They are definitely quite steep so it's a spot I would only come for special occasions. Other than that, I was overjoyed to finally have comforting and familiar dishes in this area where it's hard to find authentic Chinese food that isn't Chinese American takeout. They had great variety and delicious flavors in my opinion.

I love this place and it is always a treat. I have gone twice and this was my second time. I will definitely come more frequently. I order dim sum, so the pork soup dumplings, shumai chives dumplings and a wonton soup. So I loved the pork soup dumplings really good. The shumai was also really good and the chives dumplings had a whole shrimp in them. I loved all the items except the wonton soup. The wonton soup had a too much pepper and if it was not pepper it was a flavor, I have never had before. The soup was not bad just that particular flavor overwhelmed it. I would still order the soup because I like wonton soup but it is not the best I have had. The other items were really good and I do look forward to trying other items off the menu. My coworker liked her food a lot.

That golden entrance door... We've had better Chinese, but we like that this place is in the lobby of a hotel. Tables and chairs and dining area are reminiscent of a budget dining hall, and we also don't like that you absolutely MUST use a QR code to order. We like to unplug sometimes... Steamed pork dumplings had too much dough. Scallion/Shrimp fried dumpling was decent. My wife loved her won-ton soup, but it was $4.50 for a tiny bowl. May give another try.

Dumplings were doughy, smelled like old oil and the filling was more like a paste and in some very sparse. Chicken Lo Mein was just okay.
