Here we are 2 years later and the Samsung refrigerator icemaker has YET AGAIN frozen solid & the ice bin has cracked. Both are known issues that are the subject of a class action lawsuit and Abt knew about when they sold me the unit. They didn't have the decency to tell us.. I foolishly believed Abt and Samsung each time the icemaker failed that this time they had a final fix. I was even promised a new refrigerator which Abt backed out on. Now Abt wants me to invest approx $450 to replace the icemaker again. With only a 30 day guarantee. Sounds like I need to find a new place to shop for appliances & electronics. **- Update after manager response. The refrigerator is 7 years old and the ongoing problem is NOT due to age. It's the same problem that has occurred repeatedly since purchase. 4 times!! The exact problem that was the subject of a class action lawsuit vs Samsung. The exact problem Abt knew about when they sold me the defective unit. Abt had promised me in the past if the repairs didnt work they would replace the refrigerator and then they changed their mind . I am terrible w electronics and went into ABT for the first time in 15 years. The store is just amazing. I work in education and I have students that have said they're excited to go to ABT with parents in the evening. I don't ever remember growing up and looking forward to buying appliances with my parents! My dad actually lost all 3 of his children in Home Depot one evening because we wandered off-but live to tell the tale. At ABT yesterday at around 5:00, I was greeted and pointed in the right direction. I let the man know I was there to trade in old device. He gave me clear directions telling me to go to service and pointed it out-also letting me know it is not the area labeled customer service, but the area labeled service-which had he not pointed that out I probably would have went to the area labeled "customer service". I wish I was more aware and got his name. It is great to walk in and be warmly greeted by someone that actually cares and knows how to give good direction. It was also just so genuine as opposed to a forced greeting and he seemed to like his job. I also want to thank the gentlemen in the service department. The main person helping me was Armin, but he had a coworker that checked in and had a couple people he called to help over the phone with the process. Armin was calm and patient while working through my trade in which took sometime because I still had the device connected to my account and needed to go through the process of disconnecting it and wiping it clean. This took a lot longer than I expected, but he was so kind and helpful that I didn't mind. He never once became visibly frustrated or annoyed with me or the process. I truly appreciated his demeanor and the genuine interaction I had with him. It was clear I had his undivided attention and he wanted to help me. He was mindful of my time, which is something I value. He saw the full process through from start to finish and gave me all the information I needed. I will be returning to purchase future electronics, home devices, etc. because of the helpful employees and the impressive layout. There are lots of people there, both employees and patrons, but I never felt crowded. Thank goodness for the kind employees and the container of chocolate cuz I think I can 2 or 3 pieces to get me through to dinner and fight off those hunger pains. Thank you, Armin and staff. The first one had to be replaced under the extended warranty, and the second replacement one required a major repair under the warranty. Very experienced and took me through the electrical and wall placement without any problems. The TV was so large it took 3 guys to do the final placement. All went well and they even made some final adjustments to the level to make sure it was perfect. Brian then walked me through the TV setup and showed me some needed settings to make things easier. I measured incorrectly when I ordered my refrigerator on line and when they came to deliver it they treated me with respect even though I had pretty much wasted their time. They took the new and correct measurements and sent them to the store before leaving. When I called a couple of hours later, Dana was the sales person that helped me to get exactly what I needed and was able to get me a better warranty at the same price. Excellent service for my refrigerator that I purchased from them. The 3 year warranty had expired in January of this year (2026) and couple of weeks later my refrigerator's freezer stopped working. I contacted the ABT service department and one of their managers- Felita Moore was so kind and helpful. She called the Subzero manufacturer and was able to wave any charges for the necessary part and extend my warranty for another month. This visit we were looking for fridge, microwave, stove and dishwasher. Definitely do your research beforehand, as I was just tagging along as the final approver. Our appliances were not standard sizes, and we appreciated the expertise of Rudy, who knew the brands inside and out and all the features and customer reviews. He arranged the deliveries, coordinated with installation, and asked us about local ordinances and regulations. It was his knowledge and expertise that reduced what could have been an all-day trip to just a few hours. He even made sure we had water and some hot out of the oven cookies. We did spend some time looking at the furniture upstairs. I saw lots of families enjoying the fountain and the bubble machine. One thing we did not know existed was in the fridge section. Among the crazy things that happened, I lost the remote to the new TV I had just purchased from Abt (prior to set-up) and the TV could not be set up using a Comcast remote. The Comcast rep was at my condo and agreed to stay while I ran to Abt to see if I could get the TV remote I needed right away. I ended up speaking to Dejan (Dan) Obradovic, the GM, and he made sure to resolve my issue on the spot. Now (6 months later) I can happily report that the TV gives a beautiful picture and the sales person had really found something to meet my needs. In addition, I needed a new laptop computer & wanted one with a separate right & left click button. I stupidly went to BB and they couldnt help me. Our Samsung fridge had quit making ice and one of the solutions was to change the water filter...oops, we hadn't changed the filter in the 5 years we had owned the fridge.
