AC Barbeque was our thrid stop for our Westfield Century City Mall food court adventure. We didn't need more food per say since we ordered from other food stalls. However, my eldest daughter and I were curious on their corn bread so that's what we ordered. First and foremost, customer service needs to be improved. There was one customer in front of us. After they ordered, the young lady behind the counter walked away to make the food or something. She didn't even greet us or inform us that she'll be right with us. Okay. Another lady was preparing the foods. I looked at her several times. Nor did she say anything to us not even a hi or hello or we'll be right with you. So we waited a good 5+ minutes. It felt more like 10 minutes. Finally, the first lady took our order. We paid for the corn bread and left. Unfortunately, corn bread was dry as heck! I took one bite and did not touch it again. It came with a butter spread of some sort which didn't help with the dryness. It was the worst corn bread I have ever eaten. If they can't get corn bread right, how can we expect them to get their main BBQ items right. Who knows. The only good thing about our visit was the big to-go bag they offered us because we had other foods in our hands. Thank you Miss for that! Hence, I'm giving this rating a 2 stars. AC Barbeque has been on my list for a minute, but after this visit, it's off--and will likely stay off. Located inside the Century City mall food hall, it's a convenient stop after catching a movie at the AMC Theatre, but unfortunately, the food fell way short. I ordered the "Planks on a Pillow" sandwich. While the bun (the pillow) was nice and soft, the actual fixings inside were completely mid and unmemorable--I honestly didn't taste any sauce at all. Worse, the rib planks were dry as cardboard, had a jerky-like, overly chewy texture, and lacked any hint of smokiness. Not worth the value at $17 total for the sandwich. On the positive side, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the food comes out relatively fast. The ambiance is exactly what you'd expect from a standard mall food court fast-casual setup: you order at the counter and pick it up when they call your number. Never assume celebrity names on a business = quality service. Tried the bbq which was actually good and nice portions - asked for catering menu and was told to order online. No contact info on their website. Online ordering couldn't take a future catering order, drive back to store and asked a different associate who had the same challenge. She gave me an email contact, I inquired about packaging and availability and no response. It should NEVER take a customer 2 visits and multiple email inquiries to spend $$$ on a large catering order, no matter how new or 'small' the business is. I promised myself that I would come back after the first time I had the food here many months ago. The chicken here is amazing and today I made sure to try the ribs. My brother asked the cashier if we should order 2 half ribs and a pound of brisket. The cashier said, one half ribs and one pound of brisket is enough food for 2 people. My brother and I aren't big people. I am 5ft 9in and weigh 157 pounds and my brother is the same height but weighs 145 pounds. So the cashier was right, one half ribs and a pound of brisket is just right amount of food. The ribs are the most tender ribs that I ever had. The ribs are the best part of the meal. My husband and I went into it with no expectations and we were surprised at how good it was. We ordered the: -A to the C platter: the smoked chicken, pulled pork and brisket were all perfectly cooked - super tender/soft and seasoned really well. The platter also came with quite a bit of sides like jalapeños, pickled onions, pickles and 3 different sauces. The bbq sauce was great, but the other 2 were outstanding. It also comes with 4 rolls so you could make yourself mini sliders. We thought this was a great deal. -Coleslaw: someone compared it to KFC coleslaw which is not how we experienced it. It was lightly dressed, slightly vinegary and slightly sweet. Definitely doesn't have 10lbs of sugar like KFC's. -Mac n' cheese: I do agree it was a bit soft/overcooked, but very cheesy and delicious -Cornbread: your average cornbread, slightly sweet and soft The prices and quality are great. I've now been to AC Barbeque 3x and have tried most of the menu and I'm soo sad I can't go higher than 3 stars. I went on opening day excited about Anthony Anderson and Cedric the Entertainer opening a spot! I love both these guys, shiiiiiiiiiii I loved the Steve Harvey show back when I was little~!!!! I was pulling for it, but the flavor just isn't flavoring. Or the mass production of those flavors isn't flavoring. The staff here has been really nice every time we've gone in. Friendly service, of course really cute shop that grabs you eye at the Century City food court, and the items sound great! Sadly, the cornbread was super dry despite being the best flavored item we tried - very corn forward and I mean that in the best way possible. I'm a former Chicagoan and thus a former Illinoisan, I love the husks. It shouldn't be served cold or looking like your five year old cut it with a butter knife, but really cornbread being dry is the biggest offense of the dish. Serving cold cornbread with ice cold butter to put on top is not the way. The mac and cheese was fine but again, a bit dry. It wasn't the amazing level we were expecting though from the guys. We've seen Anthony's mama on his shows and she would not approve. Now the meats made me the saddest. The chicken wings were so dry we couldn't finish them and generally just felt bland. That BBQ Ranch dipping sauce though - OMG so freaking delicious! The Quarter Brisket is the one item I would recommend. I mean brisket would be ghastly if dry and I'm happy to report it was not, but not full of flavor. Not for nothing, I was surprised the lemonade wasn't delicious! At BBQ, that seems like a cardinal sin. Nothing looked like the photos which is to be expected, but it was a bit too off in representation, and production. I can't with dry eats! Bring the moistness and you gonna bring Sarah back to try more. This is not a sit down restaurant. It's fast casual dining near the food court at an outdoor shopping mall. You order and find a table to sit. The seating area was plentiful and kept clean by custodial staff. Service was nice and helpful. Unfortunately, the corn bread had not been prepared when we ordered at 1:30 PM (they open at 10 AM). We tried a variety of items. We enjoyed the pork ribs, baked beans and French fries. The brisket, chicken wings, sauce and banana pudding were just OK. It's worth a visit. read more

The mac was not mac-ing nor cheesing. The only thing that was good was the cornbread and banana pudding. They establishment can do way better than the food they serve. But what struck my more than the flavors was the heart and soul of the staff working here. I've never in all my years reviewing for yelp seen a harder working staff and I showered them with as much love and respect as I could while they were preparing everything. First time trying this place out and all I can say is that it was good and delicious. The meats were nicely cooked which was awesome compared to any other barbecue places. The service here was spot on! We were helped by one of the managers and he was very nice and helpful because we didn't know what to order but he helped us out with that on what was his favorite. The ambiance here was a little loud just because it is right next to the Food Court but that was okay. We sat somewhere else where it was a little more quiet. For mall food court food I was really impressed by the quality of AC Barbeque! This joint is a creation of Anthony Anderson and Cedric The Entertainer and located in the food court of the Century City Mall. I'm from the South, so I'd say I'm a good judge of bbq. The pulled pork was really tasty - would've loved some extra sauces to try. Coleslaw was average. Baked beans were a really good mix of sweet and smoky and the mac n cheese was exactly how I wanted it to be. Cornbread was super sweet but good and comes with butter as it should. The sweet tea tasted like home. The cashier recommended planks on a pillow and the brisket sandwich. They were both delicious. The brisket was smoky and juicy. While there were a lot of reviews putting this sandwich down, I found nothing wrong with it and being from Texas I can be picky. The planks on a pillow was sweet and tangy, it's what a McRib aspires to be. There are some cartilage bits but there's still plenty of tender pork in there. This was saucier than the brisket sandwich, but it's pretty authentic for brisket *not* to be saucy. The macaroni was decent. If you really have to beat a macaroni craving it will do it, but there's probably better sides. It's somehow both creamy and dry. I'll definitely be back. I couldn't believe this food. This was not BBQ everything was baked. The chicken was not done and had no seasoning. The ribs tasted boiled and not flavorful at all. No sides come with your meat everything is sold separately. $65 in a mall food court is insane. customer service horrible. We definitely won't be back. Pulled pork also came with the softest rolls, pickles, and pickled onions. Sweet potato fries were good with crisp edge and soft middle but had too much salt. The coleslaw was also the perfect side with the pork. Let's get into it: Service: Cashier was nice, service is good. Food: Got the 1/4 brisket (picture is posted) and well...I probably could have done a better job with my crockpot. This meat has no flavor and is super fatty. The pickles and the sauce could only halfway save it. The Hawaiian roll was the best part of this snack box. Price: Here's the best part: It's expensive AF for no reason at all. $15 for this snack box with a sad piece of brisket. You can get an epic plate at Philips or woodys for the same cost or less, and those plates come with sides. We ended up at the Brazilian grill a few stalls over...now that's some great meat! I love BBQ. I learned about AC in Century City when Anthony Anderson was on Jimmy Kimmel the other night. I live near there and had DoorDash deliver an order; chicken wings, St. Louis spare ribs, burnt ends and brisket. I was terribly disappointed. Was the worst I've ever experienced. The brisket was nothing but fat, the fries were so salty I had to wipe the salt off with my napkin. I was so frustrated I just threw it out. They asked me how it was and I told them. Their response was "sorry, next time" Never in my life did I expect a response like that. I didn't go to complain or anything. I ordered that, coupled with cornbread and baked beans. I was hungry so I took a table to eat it in the community seating area. The baked beans were ok, and the cornbread would have been better without the dollop of cream on top of it. The chicken was disappointing. It came out sort of cold and dry. Management, if you are reading this, please offer heavy utensils as the light weighted ones could not cut through the dry chicken.
