Great restaurant if you're looking for cheap and fast and great quality Cantonese food. It's a pretty small operation, but they run it really efficiently. There's also loads of parking so it's really convenient. I really like getting the full bbq duck here and then getting some cooked veg and rice. They cut up the duck for you here and sometimes you can even pick your own, it's a great for togo!

I love these little not so easy to find mum and pop joints Walking in you can tell it's all traditional Chinese food here , very basic interior but it's clean and looks and smells authentic Its most well known for its duck and whole pigs as there was a constant flow of people coming through and taking away both We went some steamed dumplings that came with a bottle of vinegar which with the chilli sauce on the table were delicious The house combination noddles was yum as was the shrimp We only discovered the duck and pork came after we ordered so will be trying that next visit and grabbing some to take home as well Other reviews here complaining about the service and attitude of the lady owner , it's a combination of language barriers and her quirky nature not so uncommon, we had a good laugh while there with her so I'm guessing some people are just a little to uptight Happy to return and try more of this menu

Was at Costco and Target across the street when my dad said a good roast duck place was near by. Came here and was welcomed by two calm greeters and Daniel at the counter. got a whole duck, fried rice, and chow fun. All items were good especially the duck. This is mostly carry out type place. There are a few tables. Prices are cheap like pre-covid times. Will return to try the other roast meats as they ran out already. Definitely tasty roast Duck and will get that again.

I know that ACC Chinese Fast Food has been around for many years, but due to its location, I haven't given them a try during the years I grew up in the area. Seeing that there are a mixed review on Yelp, I decided to give them a try. Note: I am giving them 4 stars solely based on the quality of food. This is a family restaurant where wife is waitress, husband is cook. There is no glam to this hole in the wall establishment. It is a run-down restaurant. So if you are one of those people that is looking for a clean restaurant with top notch service, this is not your place. Ever since Covid started, I have been visiting ACC Chinese Fast Food for my to-go orders. Personal favorites are their Roast Duck and Roast Pork. If you come at the right time, the roast pork could be nice hot and crispy! You definitely get your money's worth. Support local small business and give them some love!

In Alhambra, I discovered this excellent Chinese restaurant with a huge selection of dishes. I highly recommend getting the roasted duck and the crispy pork belly. Large portions and very decent prices. This restaurant only has a few tables to dine in. When it becomes busy, the Boss Lady, may be loud, entertaining and very friendly. This is the spot to go if you want to have some Chinese food for a very decent price!

Small mom and pop shop. Food is amazing, portions are huge. There are a few tables. Make sure to go before 4 pm for the $8.60 meal

I would like to support small businesses like this in the community as much as possible during this pandemic. The hours here during COVID is 11am-7pm. The couple who runs the business is really nice. The wife is usually chatty. It's located at a small plaza next to the medical center, across the street from Target and Costco. I would call ahead and pick up orders. Most of the time take around 15 minutes for them to prepare.

This is the first time I ordered to go from this restaurant. I ordered the roast duck ($23 plus tax) was a steal. The duck meat tasted so good. It has roast pork and other dishes which I haven't try.

Very hole-in-the-wall, slightly cringy dirty, BUT this place definitely has top notch roast pork and roast duck. People regularly come to order/pick up half or even whole roast pigs for parties. The cook also told us he does weekly orders of roast ducks for some local restaurants. They also sell out everyday. As for the other a la carte stuff, I've tried different things and what I've had are all meh ok. Not great, not terrible. The good thing here is that the chef cooks to order instead of the takeout places that scoops your food from a heat tray. Unfortunately this time I didn't take a pic of the roast pork I ordered because I already scarfed down half the plate before I realized. One more thing if note is that the wife/co-owner talks bluntly, though well meaning. That Asian "mom scolding" you kind of way (some of y'all know what I mean). It rubs some customers the wrong way if they take it too seriously. I had to intervene the last time when she did that mom-scolding to a woman for making her elderly mom carry the party tray to the car. The owner lady said something like "Ai-ya! Young people carry! Why you make older lady carry!?!" Anyways, that lady got pissed off and starting talking back thinking the lady was accusing her of mistreatment. I would suggest to not take any of her joshing or half hearted cranky lady stuff too seriously.

Food is good for the money. Not the greatest delicacies, but edible and tasty-ish enough... It's good enough. I ordered for doordash delivery and missed the email where restaurant swapped my fried fish balls for fried bananas. Not disappointed! Those bananas were the highlight of this meal! Everything I walk past the kitchen I pop another one in my mouth, it's that good! Chow mein was typical, lightly seasoned, but decent on it's own. Salt n pepper pork chop also had good flavors, very crispy, but more fat and batter than meat. Sweet n sour pork was also typical, but probably wouldn't order again The duck and BBQ pork were the 2 I was most anxious for and was the most disappointing. Meat for both was dry, maybe old. The sweet n sour sauce was very watery. Broccoli was legit just steamed no flavors at least it wasn't over boiled. Get the fried bananas!!!

Super small shop located across from Target and behind King Hua. This place is in a shared plaza with other establishments but offers plenty of parking. I came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and this place wasn't busy at all. It seems that they do mostly take out. I got the egg with beef over rice and pan fried noodles with beef. Both were basic dishes, and it was hard to mess up. But it was a bit too salty to my liking. I also ordered a small dish of Peking duck (only $4!!) and it was pretty basic as well. Seems like everything here is you get what you pay for. I'd come again for a quick and cheap bite.

This is a hidden gem because it's not easily seen from the street. I stopped by and ordered a lunch special with Kung Pao Chicken, fried rice, and chow mien. The lady is very nice and helpful and she gets a steady crowd of people placing orders to go. Since we are still in the C19 pandemic no one is allowed to eat inside. I took the lunch special home and we devoured it - so good and flavored right.

    Whole duck.

We ordered the spicy braised noodle soup with spicy pickled vegetables on the side, xiao long bao, beef roll, and chili oil shrimp wontons. The spicy braised beef noodle soup was my favorite dish, noodle texture was bouncy and firm as well as that beef being extremely tender. The spicy mustards on the side were quite spicy and a perfect addition to the noodle soup. Xiao long bao was good, filled with a good amount of broth and it came out very quickly. The wrappers were great as none of them even hinted at breaking. Beef roll was good, it was crispy on the outside and the beef portion was good. I did wish they'd add a bit more cilantro and onions but that's a personal preference. Chili oil shrimp wontons were good and had some pork filling as well. Each piece was big and filling, I was only not a fan of the thick wrapper but it was delicious. Would recommend P P Pop, I see why there are so many recommendations to try this place. Will be definitely coming back.

When you arrive, be sure to write your party size on the sign-in sheet to secure your spot--there often isn't staff at the door to assist, so you'll need to manage it yourself. We visited after a long day and only had to wait about 30 minutes. Overall, the food was pretty average--or "mid," as the kids say--and I didn't feel it lived up to the hype. Here is a breakdown of what we ordered: * #26 Shanghai Style Chow Mein ($13.99): This was the standout. The noodles are thick, almost udon-style, and it's great comfort food. I would definitely come back just for this dish. * #1 XLB Juicy Pork Dumplings ($9.99): These were just okay. Not bad, but not great, and I'd likely choose somewhere else for dumplings next time. * #16 Spicy Wontons with Pork and Shrimp ($11.99): These didn't "wow" me, though I did enjoy the chili oil. I might order these again. * #62 French Style Beef Tenderloin ($17.99): The meat was very soft, but I've had better versions elsewhere, so this will be a skip for me in the future. * #83 House Special Fish Fillet ($15.99): It was very crispy with flaky fish, but the batter was quite heavy. It was enjoyable at first, but I got tired of it quickly. While the Shanghai Style Chow Mein is worth a revisit, nothing else stood out enough to make this a regular spot for us. It's a 3.5/5 experience, but I probably won't be back anytime soon.

My husband is from Hong Kong, and our family has visited several times, so the nostalgic ambiance immediately caught our attention. The décor recreates old-school Hong Kong street scenes, especially the late '60s through '90s vibe I remember from HK movies and TV. The antenna TVs and comic-style details are great touches. My only suggestion: add some first-generation brick/murder-weapon-style cordless phones. I know the creators of this place must know what I meant! I asked my husband what "正粉腸" means. He laughed and said I probably don't want to know. I've learned my lesson about being too curious about certain Cantonese words, so I'm going to reap the benefit of not knowing. The menu has only 199 items. We went with HK staples( ok all of them are staple items we just randomly picked a few): shrimp and beef fried rice, chicken fried rice noodles, Hainan chicken, and egg waffles. Everything was flavorful and authentic, with generous portions. Three of us ate, and the leftovers were enough for another meal. The Lemon Black Tea comes with unlimited refills, which we happily took advantage of. Service was efficient and very HK-style. We were seated immediately on a Sunday during lunch, and our food came out quickly once our order was taken. There's also self-check-in online and kiosks at the entrance. Overall, the food, portions, service, and especially the ambiance made this a memorable find. There are plenty of fusion options we haven't tried yet, so we'll have to come back and work our way through the other 190+ items.

Hong Kong Cafe is located at Atlantic Times Square, a charming old-school cluster of shops and restaurants in Monterey Park. Free underground parking was especially appreciated on a roughly 97-degree September afternoon. Getting upstairs was slightly confusing because of construction and a closed escalator, but once we found the restaurant, things improved immediately. The facade is cool, but the interior is even better: spacious, clean, comfortable, with colorful illuminated Chinese and English signs. It has a wonderful classic Hong Kong café atmosphere that reminded me of the 1980s. The mellow Chinese music added greatly to the happy, relaxed vibe. I started with a lemon black tea--sweet, cold and exactly what I wanted on a brutally hot day. The XO sauce beef with udon noodles was excellent. The udon had a terrific pan-fried texture, and the beef had a slightly citrusy note that worked surprisingly well. Then came pure comfort food: the Hong Kong-style ham and egg pineapple bun. It's basically spam, lettuce, tomato, soft French-style scrambled egg and lightly lemony mayo inside a sweet pineapple bun. Nothing complicated, yet somehow the flavors worked beautifully together. It briefly transported me to a Hong Kong Island tea café near Sogo. I was already full. Naturally, I ordered dessert. The Ovaltine French toast was fantastic: thick, fluffy Chinese-style bread, golden outside, properly buttered, with Ovaltine and condensed milk inside. Cutting into it released the filling across the plate and into the cinnamon decoration. Rich, messy and memorable. I ate everything too quickly because it was that good. The large menu also offers plenty of Hong Kong comfort food, including chicken rice, Chinese-style egg and meat dishes, risotto-style dishes, several kinds of juk/congee and much more. Service was prompt, sincere and error-free. This could easily become my Monterey Park go-to for Hong Kong comfort food. Great food, great music, great atmosphere and well beyond my expectations. 5/5. Happily stuffed. 5/5。
