I can not say enough good things about this place! The food was exquisite. We tried probably almost everything on the menu. I started with the espresso martini which was one of the best Ive had. The focaccia was delicious, the wagu meatball was tender and melted in your mouth. I personally got the lamb chops and OMG, juicy, flavorful, tender, delicious. And the dessert my goodness. Decided to try this based on a lot of hype and we were severely disappointed. It started off seemingly promising with a cool vibe and modern decor. The waiter seemed friendly. Ordered wine, the brussel sprout "salad" and bread. Looked pretty and tasted good. The "salad" was not really a salad though more of an appetizer of fried brussel sprouts with some fruit and nuts. When asking the waiter what he recommended between a waygu ragu and the pistachio encrusted halibut special, he assured us the halibut was the "best fish he has ever had". We got the fish and the rigatoni. The rigatoni came out very luke warm with very cold stracciatella on the top. The flavor was nice but the pasta was FAR too al dente. The halibut was a huge disappointment. The dish was really overcooked as was the rapini that was under it. When the bill finally came and we saw the fish was $56 we were shocked. We don't mind spending any amount on great food but $56 for something that completely missed the mark and could be better made in our home kitchen was ridiculous. If you want fresh pasta and great food I could recommend quite a few amazing places in Detroit....unfortunately this was not one of them. read more

First time visit and we were not disappointed! The food was phenomenal and the dessert was delicious; I had the special of mushrooms and gnocchi, my wife had pasta Casarecce. The food alone is a reason to return. But the service was some of the best we've experienced. Our server, Felipe, was knowledgeable, attentive, and very personable. His wine choice was spot on. He even introduced us to Chef Marco. We dine in Detroit at least once a week, and we are kicking ourselves for waiting so long to make it Adelina. Awful food, even worse service. The atmosphere isn't helpful either. Extremely loud and for "fine dining" or at least higher end dining the food and service were beyond horrid. Pasta is severely undercooked, al dente is the expectation, it was far less cooked than that. Food is bland and lacks any kind of real flavor. Tried multiple dishes as there were 6 of us at the table, not a single one was remotely close to decent. Besides this, our waitress absent and that is putting it nicely. At no point did she bother asking how anything was, if we needed anything. She'd disappear for extended periods of time rarely resurfacing. I took my wife here for her birthday, she was very excited for this, yet we were both extremely disappointed. We arrived almost 10 min early for our 6pm reservation, we didn't get seated for another 25 minutes, though the restaurant was packed. Ordered a drink at the bar while we waited, though there was no room to sit down. Our waiter seemed nice, gave us some menu suggestions and took our order, octopus, chitarra (seafood pasta), lamb chops (butchers cut), and halibut (special, off menu). I ordered a glass of wine, my wife waited to order a drink until our bar drinks were finished. The octopus came out in reasonable time and was delicious, but that was the end of the good. At that time my wife put in her second drink order, which would be her last, since our waiter never asked if we wanted anything else to drink the rest of the night. I had to ask for my glass of wine I ordered. It was then a long wait for our entrees, and my glass of wine I ordered, comes out 45 minuets after we sat down. The base of the stem looked like it had been sitting in a pool of wine because it left rings on our table the moment I first picked it up. So all three entrees come out a few minutes after my wine and my wife's drink, yet the lamb chops we ordered medium rare, are medium well, and the halibut was raw. I flag down a manager because our waiter is nowhere to be seen. The manager takes them back and says we will get a free desert - it's my wife's birthday and she is already getting a free desert, so he hurries and says it will be upgraded. Eventually we get our remade lamb chops and halibut, 2 of 4 chops are still overcooked. At least the two that weren't and the fish were tasty. Our waiter brings out the desert menu and says we can pick whatever we want, since it's my wife's birthday. We ordered the Dream of Chocolate, and it's just okay. Nothing special, probably was premade. The waiter brings our bill, then comes back barely a minute later, snatches the first bill and leaves a new bill, because the first one didn't have the dessert on it. Wait what? The birthday desert is supposed to be free, and the manager was upgrading it, wtf? When our waiter returned to pickup the check, we confront him about the desert charge - it was supposed to be a free birthday desert, which was upgraded to anything. He then proceeds to tell us the free birthday desert was only ice cream, which we didn't order and he didn't even offer! We told him oh no, you didn't even offer that, and your manager said it was being upgraded. So he sends his manager over, who brings back a bill without the dessert charge. My wife and I dine at fancy restaurants periodically, we've had plenty of poor service experiences, and we often say we will try it again. I don't think we will be trying Adelina again. read more

When walking into the restaurant, the atmosphere and interior design are definitely cool, upscale. When seated, our waiter was excellent, made good recommendations, and overall don't have anything to complain about when it comes to the food. The appetizers were definitely yummy, the house focaccia, and the meatball were to die for. When I go back, I definitely would like to try some of the different pastas, we got the gnocchi and the rigatoni, which was spicier than expected. My only complaint is I think our water cups were empty the entire night, at one point I did ask for a refill, but past that it seemed to have been forgotten about. Overall, not a huge deal. Adelina was jamming on Saturday. What a lively venue with good energy. This place is perfect for a night out with friends or even date night. We started with the charcuterie board which had a nice selection of pickled vegetables, sliced Italian meats and cheeses. The only complaint was that our server did not explain what the cheeses or meats were but they still tasted good! Walking in, I was first truck by how beautiful and sophisticated the space was. The lighting was perfect, the seating comfortable and the vibe was classy without feeling pretentious. Our server quickly greeted us and we order some espresso martini's. They were sublime. Full disclosure, I know the chef and the pastry chef, husband and wife and have had the pleasure of sharing meals in their home. My expectations were high and I was not disappointed. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary (24 years, yay us!) and I was dying to try out the restaurant that had consumed my friends for so long. Realizing their dream and being a part of the first week of opening was really an honor. To start, we order the focaccia bread, the Pescados Frito and the Waygu meatball. The bread was dreamy; crisp and soft and warm... the Waygu was huge, the size of a softball and cooked perfectly; bathed in a red sauce bursting with fresh, bright flavors. I don't eat seafood but my husband loved the Pescados Frito and said that the grilled lemons were an unsuspecting treat. For dinner I had the filet mignon and my husband had the Casarecce - a waygu bolognese with house-made pasta. I loved my filet, tender broccolini, crispy potatoes, but the bolognese was the star of the meal. We reluctantly put down our forks with only half our meal eaten to save room for dessert. No worries, we did take the uneaten portions to go and they were just as tasty day 2. Dessert - The White Cloud... as delicious as it was stunning. I have had the pleasure of being on the receiving end of Gabi's cakes and imaginative creations over the years and once again her mastery of art of all things sweet blew me away. A blend of delicate, fresh and just enough sweet, decadent without any weight, the White Cloud was a perfect finish to a perfect meal. Start to finish, this was one of best meals and dining experiences I have ever had. Gabe and Gabi clearly love what they have created and their passion and experience shows in all of it. Down to the finest detail, they understand that Adelina is a reflection of them and they are putting their very best foot forward.
