Celebrated our brother and his wife's 50 anniversary there and we all agreed (five of us) that is was the best meal we have ever eaten! Chef Gabriel Botezan took extra special care of us, letting us sample a pasta dish and treating us to delicious desserts. went on a Sunday night before a concert. host told us nothing but the bar available to walk ins, all good Sat at the bar. bartenders were swamped so we brought our patience. ordered the most expensive glass of wine got a really light pour but whatever dealt with it and ordered an espresso martini. ordered apps and dinner apps came out fine but meal (lambchops) came out and was given to someone on the other side of the bar who ordered the same thing but well after I ordered I spoke to the GM and explained what happened and said make sure mine is cooked how I ordered it not how he ordered it since he's got mine and is eating it.. they did a decent job getting out pretty quick but cooked totally wrong ‍ ate it anyway left a 50 tip on a 150 bill as it was honest mistakes. just beware going on a Sunday.. The food, service and atmosphere were very good. A couple negatives. First, when I confirmed our 6:15 reservation it displayed "6:15-8:00." We left around 8:30 and while nobody said anything, it's obnoxious to state an end time for your dinner, notwithstanding that restaurants don't want lingerers. Second, the restaurant is not at all inexpensive ($206 per couple with tax and tip with mostly pasta entrees, 2 appetizers, bread, 6 drinks and 1 dessert for 4 people), but we were charged $2 for ice that I requested for the room temperature water. read more

Great food. Service could be improved. After a four+ year wait for Chef Viviani to open a restaurant in Detroit, it's finally here. For the most part, Adelina was worth the wait. We were seated and asked what type of water we wanted. Then the server disappeared for a bit and came back to take our food order. He never asked if we wanted anything else to drink so one member of our party ordered a beer. Another employee brought it about ten minutes later and just dropped it on the table as he walked by-without a glass. Hmmm...so far the service is definitely not appropriate for this level of restaurant. We ordered the octopus, the lasagnette and the veal limone. The octopus was well cooked, but the portion is miniscule. The lasagnette was delicious but also fairly small. It was about the size of a large ravioli and the same height. The veal entrée was also fantastic; cooked well and had excellent flavors. Our server never came to the table and never asked how our meals were. After we were finished, he brought the check and the CC machine at the same time, waiting and watching at the table as we had to decide the tip amount, etc. Tacky. Why he didn't bring the bill for us to review first I don't know. We definitely want to go back and try a few other items but next time we will order two entrees and be aware the appetizers (so-called shareables despite the portion size) and pastas are quite small. read more

The tiramisu was outstanding, easily an 8/10--the best thing we ordered. The Waygu meatball was a letdown at 5.6/10; it had too much cheese on top and was served cold. The sausage was disappointing, a 4/10, lacking flavor. For mains, the pasta gnocchi was quite bad, with a random uncooked piece, while the rigatoni stood out at an 8/10--delicious and well-made. Well it was certainly a disappointment. We went for valentine's day and I'll say the ambiance and interior is wonderful. The service was just ok, not on par with other places nearby... the food was a let down. For Valentine's Day they had a price fixed menu with 4 courses and few choices for each course. Here's the details: -Starter: bread was supposed to be brought out first but was actually brought out midway through our appetizer dish. The bread itself was great. -Appetizer: Caesar salad and Wagyu meatball which were unbelievable!!! But, they shoved our pasta for the next course onto the table before we had even finished the apps. -Pasta: rigatoni sauce was excellent but the noodles were undercooked. Gnocchi was very good -Entrées: The filet was amazing and cooked wonderfully. Lamb chops were completely raw and I sent them back (which I am hard pressed to do) but they were uneatable. Then the chef remade them and they were quite over-cooked. Missed the mark twice on "medium" which was disappointing given that they were only cooking 4 entrees back there for the whole night... I expected them to have it perfected. For a dinner for 2 that was over $300 we were let down by the food and they did not discount the bill at all despite the entree mishaps. All in all: Drinks and vibe was a hit, while the food was a miss. Im sure Valentines day threw things off for them but I likely won't be back. read more

This place is a great addition to the Detroit scene. The service was amazing and the food was so good. My wife had the spaghetti with bolognese and I had the filet and we shared. I honestly don't know who wrote the reviews to this restaurant. Seems like they were written by the staff. Or people who would just eat anything. We went there tonight for the first time. What a disappointment! We had 3 appetizers -the focaccia, the octopus and the calamari. The calamari was good but the smallest portion you could imagine. The whole plate was filled with spicy peppers and not with the calamari. The octupus was good but was way too small to even matter. The focaccia was not good even tho the server tried to make it seem like it's going to be out of this world. I make much better sourdough focaccia. I don't think they've tasted the focaccia Besa has. They should learn from them to make a better dough Then we had veal which I was hoping it will have some sort of a butter sauce or anything to help it go down easier. But it was a dry breaded veal with arugula salad on top of it. No side what so ever or any kind of sauce. Dry and not seasoned. The waygu beef pasta was so gross. I looked around and a few people had the same dish andv they all left it half way eaten in the plate. That should tell you it's pretty gross. Tasteless and the pasta was so mushy. I don't understand how the pasta made in the house could be so gross. I think they're just store bought and they're trying to pass them as made from scratch. If you want$38 beefaroni in a box, get their wagyu pasta At this point we were afraid to try any of their desserts even tho they claim to use valhorna chocolate . For$180 this was 100% not worth it. Started with focaccia appetizer, then the Mediterranean salad, then our entrées were the airplane chicken, veal limone, salmon, and Branzino. All of them were excellent, but my personal favorite was the veal. We ended the evening with cappuccino, the White Cloud and the Chocolate Dream desserts. The Tiramisu looked fabulous as well. As for drinks, we had the Sunburst, Mediterranean Pearl, and. Arrakka. All were excellent, but the Mediterranean Pearl was an extra special treat. By far one of the best meals I've had in years. This place has it all. The restaurant is beautiful, clean, with an amazing modern ambiance. The vibe is definitely happening in here as well. I went here with my very small family of 8 thinking it would be a very nice establishment, When we arrived there was a 42-minute wait!! What the heck are they doing back there???? We came in to a refreshed menu, so expect to have fresh new items on the menu every 1-2 months or so -- all AMAZING, delicious options. All the pasta is house made, the day of, and you can taste the freshness. The service is spectacular as well. Jonah was our server and will be our only server ever, as we will be returning to this establishment and requesting him every time. He's extremely personable and ensures a comfortable, fulfilling experience. "Walking in" first impression: beautifully designed, elegant, yet warm. Music is at a 'background' level. THANK YOU! We can carry on a conversation without yelling at each other!! (This is becoming more important as we've been in new restaurants where the music is so loud it's hard to think much less relax at the end of the day.) Staff is friendly dressed uniformly, not in grubbies. Food was dee-licious. My husband couldn't say enough about the CASARECCE. The citrus salad is big enough to share and very yummy. First of all, L O L, you have to pay for water. Second, I was seated in an area that I literally had half a seat to sit on. For real. My entire dining experience was half on, half off a seat. Third, I ordered a specialty drink that sounded delicious and it came out as lemonade and barely any vodka in it. I paid $17 for it. Did I mention it was small and mostly ice? Lastly, I ordered a $30 plate of pasta and it came out in a very large dish. It was unfortunate because only about one cup of pasta was on the dish and it tasted like Chef Boyardee. We came in close to them closing on a Saturday night and we take that into account with the experience. The space is dimly lit and was pretty loud. We sent back the 8oz ribeye and the seasonal vegetable, (broccoli). The demi glaze on the steak tasted like kraft bbq sauce and the broccoli was burnt. My boyfriend accepted his pasta, but said he could've gotten it canned and been the same quality. The staff did what they could and our waitress tried her best. It was too late to even get the kitchen to make a replacement, so I left hungry. Maybe someone else will have a better experience. This is an honest review from someone who has at least eaten at one other restaurant of this style in their life. Yes, this review is nothing personal, but that first comment is a jab at people that may celebrate this place as being so good... you need to get out of Michigan and explore your palette. Onto the food and service here... Ordered an old fashioned espresso cocktail, hardly felt the liquor and waited about 15 minutes just for the cocktail to come out, from a 20% full bar with two bartenders and a half empty restaurant, they couldn't serve two drinks faster than 15 minutes. Octopus appetizer was bad, too much crap on it that you can't enjoy the flavor or tenderness of the actual octopus, at least that main part seemed ok, but scrap all the junk on top. For three entrees, we waited another 20+ minutes. The half chicken and veal fried steak semi-made up for the dragged on wait. The gnocchi dish was bland, the potato side dish was good, half chicken was hardly a half chicken, so why call it that? And I think the veal was there between the fried patty slapped on the plate...it was so razor thing I couldn't tell, and that other wannabe salad they throw on the veal fried steak ruins the enjoyment too, it also makes it really soggy, but hey if that's what you're looking for then sure "this place is great." There was an obnoxiously loud group of people seated next to us. This place claims to look and be fancy, but the reality is that it's short of that on all aspects. We went here for our anniversary dinner and mentioned it in the comments, not one detail left at the table and no comment from the host or service to congratulate us. A follow-up email from the restaurant says, "The next time you're looking for great food and quality service, we hope that you will keep us in mind." Yeah, it won't be at Adelina, that's for sure. Apparently, this place opened in March 2024. I don't give it much longer of a life if it doesn't change and improve. read more

Went here for my anniversary a few nights ago. Really beautiful restaurant but the food was disappointing. Received the meatball appetizer with a warm meatball but not so warm tomato sauce, our Caesar salad had way too much salt and pepper especially with the Parmesan already being salty. We had to send back our branzino, it is served with thin sliced potatoes that are way too thin in my opinion because most of the potato's were burned. Even when it was remade it did not feel like an appropriate side, it would have been nice to have them slightly thicker and the dish being served with a sauce or at least lemon. The pasta was just okay. Service from our waitress was good! Was really hoping for a better experience. Really enjoyed the bread and wine! We didn't do dessert like we usually do, I wasn't very confident in it after the food we had. read more
