After the girl scooped rice in our bowls, the manager came out and told her there was too much rice in the bowl. He proceeded to dump the rice back in the pot and gave us a smaller portion. Usually, the food and service here is excellent, which is why I drive a few miles extra past other Poke places to visit this one. Tonight, the lady behind the register seemed more interested in talking to her friend then serving customers. I stood at the counter for over 5 minutes (I counted) exchanging eye contact with her and the other employees more than a few times when FINALLY someone from the back came out and took my order. Sad because this is my go-to poke place. Ordered online and when I opened my bowl, it looked like someone had eaten half my bowl and it was thrown around. We have been coming here since they opened and have the best service and food. I am now quite upset how today was and felt that I was brushed off with 2 coupons which wasn't what I wanted. I ordered the Tuna Laua and I saw there was a bit left in one pan (see picture) and a fresh set right next to it. Well the guy proceeded to use what was left in the pan and when I asked for the fresher one he said he could make this other one better by adding things to it. I asked why I couldn't just have the fresh. He said fine and then proceeded to put back the tuna he put with my rice in the line!!! Huge healthcode violation. Then the other person was using gloves that she touched food with to mess with change in the register. It's like dying and going to Poki bowl heaven. I could eat this stuff meal after meal. I go to other locations but this one seems to have hr best staff. Very chatty and friendly and willing to accommodate anything I asked for. I tell everyone to try this place because I can't get over how much flavor and the quality of ingredients they offer. If it's your first time, don't worry- the staff will walk you through everything and offer their suggestions. I do cater from here as well and this has always been a great hit. I'd say the fish tasted fresh for the most part, but my rice was over cooked and soggy/soft so by the time the added sauce hit it I had rice soup lol. Great customer service and great tasting poke! At almost every stage of choosing what you wanted, the worker would ask if the amount he gave was enough--something that's not typical of restaurants where you "create-your-own" dish. He also gave us a hefty scoop of fish--another thing that isn't typical of these types of restaurants, as they normally just give you the bare minimum. My mom has to have her food gluten free because of a food allergy. The worker knew right away to change his gloves, and was extremely helpful in offering her gluten free options. Restaurant atmosphere is nice and clean, and it has a few TV's to watch sports or the news. Overall had a great experience here and would definitely come back again. read more

Came in for the first time. Place was clean and the worker that helped me was amazing. The name on the receipt was Bryan P! He was polite and always said yes ma'am. There are samples if you are unsure of anything. It is a bit pricey for a small bowl so if you are looking to try this place, be willing to spend at least $10 on the smallest bowl available. The food area was clean and the workers were polite and quick. I ordered: Small bowl with white rice, tuna luau(AMAZING), spicy tuna, crab salad, seaweed salad(probably won't order again), furikake, and crispy onions. Loving this new restaurant in South Gilbert and Zach is the best! He is generous on the scoops, so friendly, and strategically places ingredients - I.E. wasabi on the side not dead center. I am not only such a fan of the food but the place has a great vibe. The space is wide and the aesthetic is chill. Two TVs - one Fox Sports and the other ESPN. Hooray! They have a poke place in Gilbert! Finally ahipoki has come to this side of town! Very nice and clean looking place, just what you would expect from a franchise such as Ahipoki. The customer service was great here, the only thing I had a problem with was the quality of some of the ingredients. That being said, when I asked for rice, the late took my rice and smashed it into the bottom of my tray. I was kinda like "whoa what the heck!" but i wanted to see if the employee even knew what she was doing, but she didn't. Rice is supposed to be nice and fluffy, not lathered on the bottom of my bowl like it's cement. So that was very odd to me. Not only that, but the rice was actually kinda mushy. Maybe it was just my experience that day or something but it's not like it was busy. However I'll have to go again and update my review. Tips: 1) If you want more out of your bowl, ask for one of those square plastic salad to-go container and ask for your rice, they usually put a lot more rice in those 2) if there's some things that allow to get extra without you paying for it, get more 3) the citrus and spicy house sauces are the best, but you can also ask for the other ones on the side for you to try without holding up a busy line 4) if you like wasabi, ask for it on the side so that you can mix it with soy sauce just like at Sushi places. If not, you're more likely to bite into a huge globe of wasabi, and that ain't ever good! read more

I am honestly surprised this place has a high amount of stars. I am used to going to poki fuzion. Poki Fuzion offers steak and chicken for picky eaters like my daughter. They also have a wider variety of toppings. When comparing size I recieved half the size a bowl for a higher price here than I did at Poke Fuzion. I expected better. We all left hungry. Fresh avocado, cucumbers. Got ginger and wasabi. Did the House spicy sauce. It wasn't spicy to my standards but tasted good. My only confusion was the krab salad. It said "extra scoop .75. I assumed it came with one and any extra would be .75. Nonetheless, it was good. Portions are good. As long as they keep the freshness and portion then $10 for a regular bowl is okay. You can't expect McDonald's prices--we are talking raw fish. That comes with a cost to be fresh and safe. Nice staff. Polite and patient since I was new there. read more

My wife ordered a poke bowl with seaweed after sampling the seaweed. She loved the taste so much that she ordered extra on the side. Mine was more "fun" because it involved shrimp, sesame seeds, and the oil they normally use. Long story short, I demolished that bowl because of the balance of tastes. We also tried the macaroons which were flavorful, yet delicate. Verdict: I liked it but the prices can get a little crazy. Just stopped by today and had a 3 scoop. I only ever get the salmon. I'm pretty picky and simple so I stick with my same go to order each time. The reason for my 3 stars is I could literally not finish the bowl... the salmon was so mushy and smelled that I could not bare. If I'm able to take the salmon and mush it through the gap in my teeth there is a problem. Also the avocado being served was brown! Like come on. Toss the 2-3 scoops left of the nasty stuff and serve fresh... I threw my bowl away because I have a strong feeling this will not end well... It's disappointing because you guys are so good I was so excited because I drive 20 minutes just for Ahipoki... so sad day.... read more

I loved the atmosphere. It has a very 'Portland' look. They have good signage regarding how to build your bowl. There are lots of extra add-on options which can hike up the price. Wish they had signature bowls listed. It's possible they do offer them but I didn't ask. It was nice that they offered samples of the fish before you decide. On the tables they had a sheet to fill out for 50% off next visit. You have to hand it to them and get a physical coupon for next time. My wife and daughter loved it. I am new to the Ahipoki scene, and I have to say that this did not disappoint! The food tastes great, and the presentation is awesome! It is great to eat a colorful, healthy meal, that is also filling. I need to get back and try out the Spicy Tuna next time! The only thing that bugs me is the extra $1 for Avocado. I know this is not exclusive to this restaurant. I am paying for a large bowl. Just throw in the Avocado! But, in the end...this is a winner! read more

The staff is awful. Specifically a young girl named Maddie spent a good amount of time talking to her friend who was leaning over the counter reaching over and pointing at the various food options. After a good amount of chatter another gentleman named Eric came up and was just a pleasant peach to speak with! Very short to the point and clearly was annoyed for either having a closing shift or having to work because Maddie was too busy twirling her hair talking to a customer. Once I was finished ordering I waited to pay as Maddie continued to gab about paddle boarding with this customer. I then rudely interrupted their personal conversation to say I would like to pay. I proceeded to add on a regular drink and pay when Mr. customer/friend says "oh you have coconut water" Maddie says "yea they are really good, want to try one" "sure!" And she hands the guy a free coconut water. I then say as I walk out, "please help the individual behind me" I feel so bad for the owners of this location because these two reps should be fired immediately. I got the two scoop combo brown rice/salad bowl with luau and spicy tuna with almost all of the toppings. I was surprised by the amount of salad and toppings (a good sign). The (garlic mirin soy) sauce was sparse but I don't use much so it was fine for me. Everything was super fresh and crunchy. I enjoyed the tuna luau way more than the spicy tuna (chopped and a Lil smooshy) as the former was chunks and had some flavor. Would Def order again, though. Ahipoki is by far my favorite poke bowl chain. I've been to several of their location around the valley and they are always on their game and consistent, this location is no different. Always have fresh offerings, service is quick and always friendly. I'm a "poke pro" now but I a always appreciate how helpful they are with people who are new to poke. I'm also glad to see they are trying to offer a few cooked items as well, currently Luau Pork. My 2 sons won't touch the fish, they will tolerate shrimp, but they love the pork! I am at this location and others often so I figured it was time to get them the stellar review they deserve. Keep up the great work! If you've never had poke, give these guys a shot! read more

I've been to this location several times now and have been very happy every single time I've been in. The food is amazing! I read the previous comments, and I don't find that they are being skimpy on the rice. I know that businesses have standards that they need to follow, so I totally get it when it comes to portion control and inventory. Anyway, the service has been just fine, a little pricey but 100% worth it! It fits into my diet which is another awesome thing! Highly recommend. I just took my in-laws there the other day and they loved it too! Oh, and one more thing the crab salad is amazing, don't get rid of it! So I usually go here to get my go to meal, 2 scoop with White rice and various vegetables. However the last two times I've visited the rice is more of like a paste and clumps together. I ordered double tuna, masago, edamame, crunchy toppings and the creamy spicy dressing over organic greens. Everything was fresh, tasty and well prepared. The beautiful girl behind the counter was extremely knowledgeable about all of the foods, the types of flavors, what mixes well with what.
