Grand opening today with 50% off poke with beverage purchase. The place was very clean and efficient. There was a steady line of people. There were several workers to assist with orders behind the counter. Unfortunately, the intercom system needs be fixed. The poor workers can't hear you and it's difficult to hear them. However, there were several newer options of fish compared to other poke places. Overall, clean place and service was great, fish was fresh, the portions were smaller than other poke places down the street. I would go back to try some of the other menu items. I was in the HB area and I was in the mood for Poke, so I did some research and decided to try out AhiPoki. When I entered I was greeted and the staff were very friendly. The inside seemed clean and well kept. I chose the 2 scoop bowl, the one thing I will say is that I've never been to a Poke place that used such small scoopers. I was even more shocked that the spicy tuna wasn't part of the 'mix ins ' and the 2 scoop of tuna that I got was equivalent to one scoop anywhere else I've gone. The next surprise I got was I was only allowed one small scoop of any of the veggie toppings ?! I've never ever seen that before, if i wanted even a little bit of cucumbers or Masago or even pineapple I had to pay extra ?? Personally, for $15 I felt like I got a very very small portion of protein and very little mix ins. The sauces were good, the food was good but in all honesty the pricing and portion size was very off for me. I have no criticism against the quality of the food but the price / portion / protein- veggie ratio isn't priced correctly. I personally wouldn't come back due to the pricing and the portion of food. But if none of that matters to you then I suggest trying them out. read more

I would give them a 3.5 stars if I could. Flavor is pretty good, but I think they definitely skimp on both the fish and toppings. I don't know if there was a bit of miscommunication, but when I started my order, I told the employee that was taking my order that I wanted white rice and add chips (+ $1), which I knew was an extra charge. However, he said "would you like half chips and half rice," which then I replied, "can I do that?," he said definitely. So, to me, I thought, oh okay, I guess I don't have to pay the extra dollar. Once we got through the line and got up to the cash register, I noticed he added in the $1 for the chips and the $1.50 for avocado (Which I did not get). Fresh fish. Super delicious. Nice workers. A little pricey. Large 3 scoop poke bowl for $15. They have a mix of marinated and unmarinated fish. I went for the sweet salmon and spicy salmon. Fish texture was great. Slightly on the firm side which was delightful since most place often have fish thats a bit mushy. There's an option to add togarashi at the end.. I recommend being mindful because that spice packs a punch. I also got the unagi musubi and --- OMG u have to grt it. It's basically impossible to find unagi in a non-sushi setting, and this was so delicious. They wrap it to order, so it comes out hot. read more

Good and flavorful tuna - I like the fact that they have fresh fish and fish that's already been mixed with toppings and sauce. The tuna I had was delicious, but the salmon tasted old and past its prime, which is why I had to deduct a star. Besides that, they were training someone new who was really struggling, but I can't deduct for that because she was really trying her best. She was just a little all over the place and hadn't really gotten the hang of things, making the wait a little longer and the poke not as good since she forgot to mix the toppings with the sauce. Other than that though, we came about 20 minutes before closing, but they were super nice about it, which I appreciate. Genuinely impressed by the raw fish here. It tasted amazing. Ordered the pre-prepped sauced salmon + raw ahi tuna and it was amazing. And reversed for the 2nd plate. Best to limit toppings so you can really taste the fish! Also got the lilikoi drinks and was impressed on how well it tasted.
