They looked and felt like metal or charred debris, but the staff insisted they were black sesame seeds. Otherwise, the staff has been upbeat and super friendly. They have a parking lot, which is a plus for this area because street parking is challenging. I ordered the Negi Toro Hand roll, Spicy Scallop Roll, and TNT Roll. The hand roll was elegant, fresh, and delicious. I loved the seaweed. The Spicy Scallop was my favorite because of the quality ingredients and value. It was definitely spicy. The TNT Roll was amazing, but I had to remove the Jalapeño due to it kicking my ass. I'll definitely return because I had an exciting experience.

There was another table on the other end that wasn't in the "walkway" and host said it's reserved even though it was still only for 4. Wasn't extremely busy so got frustrated with this response as at first there was no solution provided. About 1-2 minutes later they offered to combine a third table to "reroute" the server path and we were able to eat with my child. Server and rest of staff were great and turned the experience around. Food was delicious including octopus fire, bluefin tuna tasting , Ginza Maki roll , Bixby Roll and the Acebichado. We were so hungry we didn't get to take a picture but that alone should tell you how good it was.

The tom kha soup was decent, but the real MVP was the drunken noodles with beef. Those noodles were absolutely swimming in savory goodness and perfectly soft. I would've happily ordered a second plate and called it "dessert." Overall, I'd definitely come back--mostly because those drunken noodles are already living rent-free in my head.

The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. He immediately complied and proceeded to then antagonize him by telling him people eat there. He said yes I understand and got off. She proceeded to turn back MULTIPLE times to keep going. She then said you and your party can get out or I can call the cops. When I asked the clear manager in his outfit, requesting who the fake GM was, he along with the Bartender on shift played stupid as to supply her name. Margarita clearly was not a GM but felt that she needed to keep creating an unnecessary situation. The situation was already de escalated when he complied with what she asked. Do better with your staffing saint and second.

So glad I finally got to stop by many years later for dinner! Parking was easy (on a weeknight). Plenty of street parking and many open meters but I can see it being very difficult on weekends. Bake in some time to find parking! There's both indoor and outdoor seating at this location. This inside is cozy and there's a second room for additional seating. I went on a Thursday night and it was slammed. They do not take reservations but they do have a waitlist via toast that you can join while you walk around and wait for your table. Plenty to do and see on 2nd street. We ordered the party platter for 4 people! It was the perfect amount of food with leftovers to take home. Everything was cooked to PERFECTION. Our beef was a textbook medium rare and was so juicy and tender, as was the rest of the meat. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, as was all the shawarma. All meats were seasoned beautifully. The rice underneath was stunning as well and really caught all the juices from the meat on top. The roasted tomatoes, onions, and pickles were the perfect compliments to help freshen up the palette during the meal. The sauces were amazing and there was a clear favorite (the garlic sauce) which was annihilated by all four of us. Service was friendly! It was very packed so it was slow at times but understandably so. They come by and give you orange blossom water for your hands post meal - what a treat! We smelled amazing! NO NOTES FOR OPEN SESAME! I have to come back with more friends! We did have an issue but it was with another patron who had the audacity to yell at my table (while I was in the restroom) for "having too much fun"?!?! This is a public restaurant and it was loud as hell in there because it's tight and everyone talks over each other, not to mention the open kitchen. Overall, it was still a yummy wrap. Chicken Shawarma (5/5): The chicken shawarma tasted more balanced to me overall. I don't recall the meat being dry, although I did also slather it with a bit of hummus. I thoroughly enjoyed this wrap. Fries side (5/5): Their fries are made in house and it tastes so fresh. It was crispy on the outside yet still gooey and moist on the inside. I'm not sure if they make their own ketchup too, as it looked clumpier and tasted really fresh too. The kids gobbled this up. Hummus and pita (5/5): It came with a generous amount of both hummus and pita. The hummus was well flavored and blended, and it really complemented everything on the table. The pocket pita bread was not what I had in mind (I'm used to thicker ones), but the kids really loved it overall. Ice cream (4.5/5): We ordered two scoops from the dessert menu. They were both really thick, creamy and almost chewy like liquidized mochi. It was a very interesting texture but nonetheless a nice tasty treat on a hot day. I much preferred the vanilla bean, as the pistachio tasted and looked rather artificial (and I'm a pistachio ice cream lover). This place had so many to-go orders during the afternoon we were there. I can see why. Food is super fresh and tasty. I think we will be back the next time we are visiting.

This restaurant is a popular premium all-you-can-eat sushi spot, offering a wide range of nigiri, rolls, and other Japanese small bites. They have two AYCE options: Regular and Premium. The Premium option costs an additional $5 and includes more luxurious items like Uni, Ebi (Sweet Shrimp), Fried Soft Shelled Crab, Oysters, Yellowtail Toro, and Salmon Toro. Whether or not the upgrade is worth it depends on your preferences. If you only enjoy classic sushi and rolls, the Regular option may suffice. However, if you want to try the best of the best, the Premium option would be my recommendation. The service at the restaurant was attentive and friendly. The staff was quick to refill our ginger and miso soup and were always on hand to help with any request, including carrying the heavy plates of sushi. While I appreciate the concept of all-you-can-eat, I have found that the quality of the food can sometimes suffer. In this case, the specialty rolls were smaller than what I have seen in other Japanese restaurants, and the cut of the fish was also on the smaller side. While the salmon and yellowtail tasted great, the tuna had an aftertaste that made it less enjoyable. Additionally, the Poke Sashimi was cut too thin and drenched in sauce. However, I did enjoy the no-rice sushi rolls and salad with ponzu vinaigrette. Overall, everyone in our party was feeling full. With tip, the bill came out to around $60 per person. A few friends and I stopped by Aikan Sushi about a month ago, and we ended up having one of the better sushi experiences I've had in Long Beach. We ordered a little bit of everything--specialty rolls, sushi, garlic edamame, and several appetizers--and before long the entire table was covered in food. As someone who has spent about 10 years working in restaurants, both front of house and back of house, I appreciate when a restaurant can handle a large order while still keeping the quality consistent. Every dish that hit the table looked great, arrived fresh, and was well prepared. The fish tasted fresh, the rolls were generously portioned, and the presentation showed attention to detail. The garlic edamame was a great way to start the meal, and the specialty rolls were the highlight for me. I recently had the pleasure of dining here and this place has exceeded all my expectations! From start to finish, the interior was clean and service was fantastic, with attentive and friendly staff who made our dining experience truly enjoyable. We started with a variety of appetizers including mussels, soft shell crab, spicy tuna crispy rice, and jalapeño shrimp, all of which were delicious and perfectly prepared. The highlight of the meal, however, was the sushi and sashimi. Every piece was incredibly fresh with no hint of fishiness, a true testament to the quality of their ingredients. The baked Alaskan roll and Dynamite roll were outstanding, but my personal favorites were the scallop sushi, sweet shrimp, and uni sushi. While the service and presentation of the dishes were excellent, I found that the overall experience didn't quite meet my expectations, especially when compared to a similar experience I had in Vegas. If I hadn't had such a remarkable dining experience in Vegas, I might have been more satisfied with this place, as it would have saved me a long drive. The background pop music added to the ambiance, and I enjoyed it while I dined. However, I was a bit disappointed with some aspects of the food. The rice was not as soft and moist as I had hoped, and it seemed a bit dry, possibly from sitting out for a while. The fish was fresh but lacked the buttery texture I was expecting. Additionally, the baked mussels were not as hot as I would have liked and had a texture similar to warmed-up mayo. Although the flavors of the dishes were good, the temperature of the food was a consistent issue. For example, the miso soup was lukewarm. The organic age dashi tofu was made from Medium Firm tofu instead of silken tofu, which is the correct softness. The restaurant was clean and smelled nice and fresh. The decor was very pretty and neat and tidy. There is plenty of seating around the sushi bar, and many booths and tables. They offer regular menu or all you can eat. The waitress and host were very nice and there was an extra person cleaning the tables. I came on my lunch break and the table service was very quick. The food was great. The Gyoza were so crispy and came with a savory sauce, I really enjoyed them. My roll was so good and came out really fast. The menu had such a wide variety of Japanese cuisine, from sushi, to katsu, to donburi, there's something for everyone! Loved the modern clean vibes of the interior. They start you off with complimentary miso soup, which was full and rich (a bit salty for my liking but that's just me). We also ordered a plate of nigiri as our appetizer, and the fish quality was really fresh. I ordered the chicken katsu plate for myself, and my was it delicious. I've never tasted katsu so light even though it's typically fried, and love the sauce they paired the katsu with. It was almost like a mustard? But it wasn't too overpowering or anything. We finished the night with the tempura ice cream, and let me tell you, this is a MUST. I honestly just expected them to throw some panko on top of a scoop of ice cream, but Te-Buru's take is (somehow) baking a tempura crust right onto a giant scoop of ice cream and then cutting up the scoop into wedges. The ice cream surprisingly did not melt all that quickly either, and the matcha flavor was on point. Our servers were quick to meet our requests, nothing super outstanding but made the meal pretty seamless. Prices I think were pretty standard except for their sushi. Those are bit on the steeper side, but again, their fish quality is really good. For parking, they do have a small lot, but there's also street parking and parking in the neighborhood behind the restaurant. You'd be delulu not to try Te-Buru!

Came here on a saturday around 5:00pm. Small parking lot. Restrooms. They had a takeout window too…read more Ordered the call me babe roll it was really good. The salmon tatsed really fresh no fishy taste at all. And crunchy roll was actually crunchy. Serivce was quick and super friendly. Inside small but enough seating. The mango lemonade refresher was good. All in all from the outside didnt expect much but sushi was gooodd.
