This place is amazing. The service here is always great. The staff is very friendly and the sushi is one of the best that I have ever had. Almost reminds me of sushiya back in San Diego. I ordered a caterpillar and it was quite tasty. My mom ordered a rainbow and she enjoyed it as well. My brother had a Caribbean dream, and my friend a kamikaze and they both really enjoyed it too. The day I came it was raining and cold so me and my mom ordered some green tea. When we asked for the bill they told us our green tea was on the house since they knew we were cold and wet from the rain. I highly recommend this place. Had lunch here today and it was incredible. Sushi was fresh and their specialty rolls are different and very good. We had the Luna (my favorite), Screamer, Aki Harvest, Crunch and Cali roll. Joseph was great, and make sure you say hi if you go. Nice thing is you could walk from the Marriott Courtyard, plus they stay open from 2pm-5pm when most of the other sushi places close if you want a late lunch. read more

My wife and I recently discovered this place and have gone back almost every opportunity we've had. The Crab Rangoons are THE best in Florida. I search for good ones and these hand made treasures are excellent. My wife is a sushi cone suer and fell in love with Catch 13. It's even made me eat more sushi! This is a small family run business is doing an excellent job. Do yourself a favor and get some Lychee Saki, sit at the bar and get to know them. They are great people. read more

I've searched everywhere to find tuna tower in the tampa area and found out this restaurant had it so decided to give this place a try. Tuna tower was such a disappointment- it lacked flavor and we could not even finish it. Service was not good either. Server was not very attentive or friendly. She even forgot our appetizer until I reminded her so we did not get it until after we finished our main course. Only reason why this review is getting two stars is because the sushi rolls we got here were okay. read more

I absolutely love this sushi restaurant. My favorite one so far. They are outstanding with their food and welcoming to customers. Buuuttt, quite slow. Multiple times I have been there with family, about three of us including me, sitting alone in the restaurant, maybe one couple max, and it would take a while till we got our food. But I didn't mind, it is definitely worth the wait. My family and I are Sushi enthusiasts, we have been to many sushi places, but for me, this one is the best by far, and close. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I highly HIGHLY recommended the tuna nachos, I get two plates of those for myself. read more

The owners make you feel like family from the minute you walk in the door. They know most of their customers by name and are friendlier than many other sushi restaurants in the area. You can tell that they have a loyal following and go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. The sushi roll menu is small but well put together. They offer a nice variety of choices and the prices are fair. We've tried many of the rolls on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. There aren't many seats in the small restaurant but they do take reservations, so don't be embarrassed to call first. read more

We went tonight for the first time after meeting the owner last night. This place will not disappoint! For me personally I loved that they have a gluten free menu with some of the most creative gluten free rolls I've seen. We tried the pink panther, spicy tuna (both gluten free) and the sunset and philly rolls. My husband and I loved the rolls. Probably some of the freshest sushi we've ever had! The place is small but normal sized for a sushi place. The owner remembered us and made sure we enjoyed our meal and our service was knowledgable and prompt. This will definitely be our go to place for sushi. I wish we would have known about it sooner. Way better than other places near or in Westchase. read more

Since my parents moved to the area my mom and I have been searching for the perfect sushi place. We love a quieter atmosphere, where we can talk but not so quiet that we feel out of place laughing and joking around. So at first sight this place didn't look like a whole lot. Boy was I wrong. We went during lunch time and since we had never been we played it safe with a spicy salmon roll and a California roll. The salad was AMAZING, and the soup was yummy too. Everything tasted so fresh, and then the sushi came out... I never thought I could be so happy with a spicy salmon roll but I couldn't keep myself from enjoying every bite. The California roll was just as good too. For both of them being very basic and safe rolls to try the first time at a sushi place they set my standards to the max. I will be going back since they are less than two minutes from my work so I found my new go to place! read more

Stopped in on my way home from work. I've been coming here since the first day they opened and I've been hooked ever since. Food is always fresh and delicious. I love the Crunchy, Passion, and the Dragon rolls. The staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to sushi. Rolling sushi is not the quickest process so if it's busy there can be a bit of a delay in getting the orders out, but if you can be patient it's well worth the wait. read more

Never took are drink order so all six of us just had water then we had to ask for ginger and wasabi ever time we ordered more sushi talk to the owner she said we don't give you ginger or wasabi unless you ask for it .well I thought if you buy a $10.00 sushi roll you should get wasabi and ginger. We had to wait for more than 45 min after appetizers for food. They were short staffed. Then on asking,sushi chef said 2 min - ours was the next! We ordered Ocean spray and same with Tuna - Food had no flavor whatsoever .Don't think we will come back here. Very disappointed ! read more

I think this sushi bar has a great product, but they need to work on their organizational skills. I was surprised that they did not have a checklist to order sushi from. Most successful Sushi bars have a checklist, so the chef does not mess up the order. Second, they need more waitresses or waiters for the dinner crowd. The people that run this place need to get a clue as to how to run a business. We went to the restaurant on a Saturday night at 8:30 and the place closes at 9:30. We sat down and the owner was doing a Saki bomb at the bar with other patrons. The owners little girl who was about 6 was also at the restaurant "hanging out" then sleeping across chairs in the restaurant. How about this, get the kid a futon in the back if you need to bring her to work. People paying good money for food don't want to see your little kid sleeping the restaurant! Food was at best average. The sushi was thin and the rolls had an enormous amount of sauce all over them! The service was slow and the husband that owns the place was clueless. When 9:15 rolled around they couldn't wait for us to pay our bill and get out. Apparently they needed to get the little girl home. How about this get a baby sitter or don't have a business. My wife and I have visited this Sushi bar 6 times this month and this trip will be our last. The problem with this place isnt the Sushi, it is the service. By service I mean the people making the sushi, the server or servers (usually one) are great. On our last 3 visits it has taken forever to get our order and the place was not busy. In fact on our last visit we came in and there was no one in the place at 5:00. After sitting down two other people came that the guy making the sushi knew as regulars. Well guess who got their food first even though our order was placed before the other two customers? The two other customers, ours came about 15 minutes later. Our order did not consist of any tempura rolls or something that needed to be made in the kitchen, just standard rolls. I am guessing if you come in 6 times in a month and drop $80 a check your not a regular here? From my observations the place does not have enough staff, adding a sushi chef that is more interested in making the food and not socializing with the customers would do this place wonders. read more
