Came upon this touristy place right by the Cruise Ship terminals @ Pier 57. We smelled it before we saw it! If you are a sucker for sourdough, this is a place to Carb-Up! The Espresso was smooth and delicious. The Chocolate Chunk Muffin was increadible. Prices are reasonable, friendly and prompt service. Recommend! read more

We walked in here since the aroma is lovely ! They were giant fresh baked loaves of sourdough on the bottom that open display window so you can see exactly what you're getting and how big each pastry is. Also, they have a giant board which is very easy to read of specials drinks, as well as sandwiches and breakfast. The older lady that I was with was so lovely. She made me feel at home. I got a motz sandwich which was amazing. The bread was phenomenal. Also got two giant chocolate chip cookies, which the kids fell in love with and so did I! Also got a cinnamon twist, which was so flavorful! I highly recommend to stop in here, since the service is wonderful, the atmosphere is so welcoming, and the treats are delicious! My only complaint - the bread wasn't sour enough. How are we going to name it with Sourdough in the name, and have mild sourdough bread? Other than that, the food was phenomenal. My fiancé got chowder in a bread bowl, which he said was better than he could have imagined. I got a panini, which was very generous with the meat and the cheese, buttery, toasty, and SO delicious. They didn't really have any great drink options, so we went somewhere else for that. If you're looking strictly for a quick lunch, this place is really, really great. read more

Don't order the kids deli sandwich. For $6 the amount of meat they give you is an absolute joke. We went back to the counter to confirm it wasn't a mistake and the three people working checked it to confirm it is correct. read more

Out food was good. We ordered three kids meals, the shrimp sando, and bread bowl with clam chowder. Everything was really, really tasty. Their bread was perfect and very flavorful. However, the prices are steep, and the service is terrible. It's a sandwich shop and I was charged extra for mayonnaise...The person who helped me was extremely unhelpful and forgot two of our things and was super annoyed when I asked for butter (for the bread) and my other items in my order. My son's sandwich had one piece of thin sliced ham on it and the rest was plain. read more

Social Distancing Edition Review Yea, they are still open, and delicious. What do you need right now, when the uncertainty hits you... and you think... boy, what I need right now is a good loaf of sourdough bread... or maybe you want a soup bowl... in sourdough, or you just want someone to make you a cookie. It's hard right now, but if you just head down to the waterfront, and find the side entrance to the pier, you will find that craving met with joy and salutation... with a firm bite of love, you can partake in lovely bread that brings you warm fuzzies. Social distancing- Covid-19 review. My husband and I decided to order here through uber eats for mother days brunch. The app then proceeded to tell us our food was ready for pick up- by US. That caught us off guard cause usually when you order through uber eats 100% of the time it's delivered (first time I EVER had to PICK UP MY OWN ORDER!) But anyways whatever it was a nice day so we went for a walk since we just in downtown Seattle by the waterfront. I ordered the veggie omelette w/o cheese & a side of sourdough pancakes(double). Husband got the breakfast sampler with French toast. We arrive and first glance when I came it was very well pack, they did forget his orange juice. Had to go back inside and grab it and it was already all bagged up. Perfect! Excited for brunch back home. We get home for the big reveal. I first notice his orange juice is apple juice. But he said it's fine no big deal. Pictures below is all our food that we have ordered. Sadly I got more sour dough toast which comes with the omelette than my actual omelette- so petite and tiny. The avocados are brown and not very pleasing to the eyes and appetizing. Got about 2 bites of my veggie omelette and called it quits- it was tasteless, bland, no crunch from the onions or bell peppers that were supposedly in them. Sourdough pancakes- I don't even know where to begin with this tragic pile of mountain thrown in a box. I know what genuine sourdough pancakes should taste like because where I grew up back in Anchorage, Alaska we had incredible sourdough pancakes. Plus I make them myself! So I don't know how you can screw up something so simple. These were so overly thick, dense, too burnt at the bottom. Definitely not sourdough by any means. I was excited for nothing. My taste buds were beyond disappointed. Lesson learned- when it doubt make brunch as usual! Save money, live better, don't eat here. read more

This honestly was one of the best sandwiches I've had. I got a turkey and havarti sourdough sandwich and it was so soft and fresh! My friend got the three swedes and seemed to like it. I wasn't crazy about their chocolate chip cookies because they were the soft/chewy kind (I like mine a bit crunchy) but they tasted amazing and fresh. As far as service is concerned, I get the vibe it's all teenagers so they're scattered and stressed as hell, it's honestly a little bit entertaining to watch. read more

We arrived at 1:30pm thinking it would be busy, one person in front of us and the lady at the checkout took a long time serving. We ordered two paninis, both half servings. Mine was the chicken pesto costing $6, and as you can see by the picture it really isn't worth the money, underneath was entirely burnt. The bread tasted nice but inside was just coated in oil and the hardly no cheese. Don't waste your money here if you want a decent sandwich. read more

When ordering it felt like we were not welcomed or wanted, employees weren't nice or welcoming. I had the 3 Swedes sandwich, the fish was noticeably old and very mushy and would not recommend to get it.. the bread on the other hand was pretty tasty but cut very thin for sandwiches. The place was dirty.. there were dirty napkins, cups and plates on the tables, dining area not kept clean.. Bakery part seemed pretty clean but not completely up to code for culinary cleanliness. Overall, I wouldn't recommend to anyone and won't be going back. read more

I came here with the intention to try this chowder/sourdough and see how it compares to the other chowder place in Seattle. The chowder here is a dark yellow and very very thick heavily seasoned soup. It was very salty, and quite honestly the most overwhelming thing about the soup was the amount of sand I kept getting in the clams. The soup itself is really good, but very hard to finish since it was super salty and I was growing weary of the sand in the clams. My friend and I shared the bowl size chowder and had a piece of sourdough on the side. The sourdough however is 10/10 five stars. I really liked the taste of the sourdough, and it was just the right amount of sour, but the chowder was way too salty and sandy that it just overpowered everything else. The service itself was also not very good. The person working there seemed pretty annoyed that he was there in the first place. Between the other famous chowder place in Seattle, I would brave the line and choose the other place over this one. read more

Their sourdough loaf has a delicious and strong flavor with thick chewy crust. They will even slice it for you if you like. Sandwiches were tempting (especially the BLT) but I just did the bread this time. Freshly baked loaves are on display at the counter so you can see exactly what you are getting. I thought the prices were very reasonable. A loaf of bread comes wrapped in both plastic and paper so it won't go stale during the rest of your adventures. They recommend heating it up in an oven before eating it, but it's good even if you eat it straight from the bag - which I did. I'm glad I stopped here and plan to come back for more bread next time I am in the area. read more

The Panera Bread of chowder and sandwiches. A bakery for sure (baguettes, muffins, cookies), but this is known for the chowder. The bread is chewy more than crusty, but alas, good. But it has that branding/packaging that I don't want from a chowder place, because it doesn't have the right feel. Located on Pier 57, it's hard to get to from Pike Market, and why would you? Stay there and eat what they have. If you really feel like walking, alright, but I think you'll be disappointed with the limited inside seating. It's nowhere near an ocean view. What did I order? We have heard that the sourdough bakery is the best in Seattle. The story that goes with the bakery is quite amazing. All time prospectors keep in the starter of sourdough warm :-) I love that idea. The bread loaf we got was so delicious! We chose double sour. Loved it! Also had a small role which I immediately was some brie cheese. Fantastic! My new go-to for very good sour dough bread. Located on Pier 58, the one-time nautical & fishing decor interior and exterior are as expected. The first thing thing you'll notice right off the bat is the wonderful lungful of fresh yeasty, sour dough a baking away. I tried the double sour round loaf. Took it home and baked it according to the leaflet instructions provided: It was Money, money, money...$$$! Perfect texture, flavor....It definitely delivered on meeting expectations. The only drawback was the small selection of baked goods and the low on-hand supply. Maybe I caught them on a busy day. Not sure. Had I arrived just 10 minutes later, I'd probably have been looking at empty glass displays. Another knock on the storefront: After I ordered the bread and paid, the employee walked away for 10 minutes and then came back. I had to remind him to give me the bread I paid for because he already forgot to carry out my order which involved simply reaching down to the glass display and handing me a round loaf and placing in a brown paper bag. I tried so hard to cut this place some slack, but they are so disorganized inside. Ordering is super confusing. Once I was finally able to order my food, I got the wrong order. The guy serving it to me (after clearly telling them this order was to go) was so rude, and said "they didn't tell me so you need to make sure you tell them it's to go." I'm thinking to myself, okay, that's rude but my order is still wrong....it took about 45 minutes to finally get my order, which was mediocre. Not worth the hassle or the wait. I felt so horrible leaving, as if I did something wrong. No one should feel that way. read more

We flew into Seattle last Saturday. We walked all around Pike Place and enjoyed ourselves. We wanted to get closer to the Pier so we headed towards the Ferris Wheel and stumbled across this place. We ordered the Clam Chowder in a Sourdough Bread Bowl. Let me just say....not only did I think about that bread bowl all week while on a cruise, we disembarked the cruise this morning and headed over for another bowl. Amazing. If you like friendly service and good food, don't go here. We had breakfast on a Monday morning when it wasn't crowded. The girl at the counter had an attitude and I actually found myself in a rush to order due to the uncomfortable silence that followed abrupt answers to basic questions. But that wasn't what got me the most. I watched the preparation of our food and was struck by how one spatula can be used for french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage and waffles without a single cleaning in between other than a scraping off. We didn't have bacon or sausage, BTW. Asked to talk to manager and she was upstairs in a meeting. Kids at counter did not offer to get her. Food was meh at best. read more

Soup was cooked good with correct amount of seasoning. You wouldn't believe, I was able to finish the whole thing.
