Very dishonest conman running the shop. I was charged mechanics rate for him to learn how to connect a wire from a youtube video because he didnt know how to do the job. I was quoted $1200 to swap an engine and was charged twice that. He got shitty when I asked when the car was going to be finished . These guys are great. I drive over an hour to have them do my work. They lowered my Mustang and raised my Jeep. They've done tires and wheels on my 535i and on both my Jeeps. 100% reliable. Slow, unreliable and shady. Asked them for a simple diagnosis on a check engine light and it took them THREE DAYS to run a simple OBD scan. When I finally received a call back they started listing things off that was "wrong" with no real explanation of anything. When I returned for my vehicle he then asked for 100$ up front and under table. When I asked for a written report and invoice, he refused which is also a violation of DMV laws. Avoid at all costs unless you like slow, un-reliable scammers. read more

Left my vehicle in their shop for 2-1/2 days to find out why my check engine light is on prior to attempt inspection. Upon picking it up I was told " I can't find the reason why it's on, you might as well junk it, I have to get back to work" and the mechanic walked away while I was still standing at the counter. I am on disability (heart patient at the VA) , have kids to drive around, there is no public transportation to speak of in my small town and certainly cannot afford to just go buy another vehicle. I felt like I was simply dismissed after having brought my vehicle faithfully to them ever since I bought it. I asked them to provide info of what was tested in my vehicle up to that point so I may continue with another mechanic two days ago and they have not responded. I grew up in an auto shop, this type of customer relations is bullshit . If you can't fix it say so, don't tell a customer to junk their car. read more

A great combination of value and expertise, I've lost count of the number of times these guys have gone to bat for me- troubleshooting difficult sensor issues, sourcing parts in a hurry, fabricating a hanger for my exhaust system when the original attachment point rusted through, delivering a perfectly set up lawn tractor that has given me years of trouble free operation, the list goes on and on. Alden Automotive picked up my new Toro mower when it wasn't running well. They never called to tell us what the problem was before starting work on it. The conclusion was a $255.78 bill for changing out the fuel filter (including $70 for pickup and delivery). Two hours labor to change a filter? They claim they also disassembled the tank and cleaned it, though that is not listed on the bill and I find it difficult to believe a 3 month old mower had enough debris in the tank to require a disassemble. read more
