Honestly, I've never had the chance to dine here. But from my personal experience this place stays busy around the clock. My dad and I came here for lunch today for the first time. There is limited parking by the restaurant but they have more parking in the rear lot. We both ordered large original margaritas which tasted like lime water. I really don't think there was any tequila in them so I would stay clear. I ordered the carnitas plate which wasn't bad but wouldn't order it again. The carnitas was dry so I had to dump salsa and tapatio on it so that it would taste better. The shredded beef hard shell taco that my dad ordered looked good and he said it was delicious! If I do decide to come back here I'll probably order the tacos. I was a little biased because I LOVE Chichen Itza located in Mercado La Paloma, but I was very pleased to find good Yucatan cuisine here without having to brave the 110 to DTLA. Since the 80s, Alfredo's Restaurant has been serving their famous Cochinita Pibil at both their original restaurant on Narbonne/Arlington and at this one on PCH and Pennsylvania (near King Poke). Not to be confused with Alfredo's Mexican Food on Carson (fast food), Alfredo's Restaurant is a cozy sit-down Mexican diner with a nice patio and ample parking. If it weren't for the slow service, I'd had given this a higher 3.5. My grandma got a Chicken Burrito and I got a Cochinita Pibil Burrito ($8.59 each before tax). Quick Tips: -15% off your bill when you Check in on Yelp! -Extra parking in the rear -No lunch specials, no taco tuesday. Not up to date with the times (menu is unchanged). Taste 3.5/5 Delicious chips and salsa to start. A slightly spicy rojo pico de gallo that is more complex than your average salsa. Great crunch from the onions. Chicken Burrito is filled with shredded chicken, onions, and rice. Simple. Grandma liked it. I never thought you could put Cochinita Pibil in a burrito, but it worked. Instead of rice, I was allowed to put beans inside. I was expecting black beans (that come with the plate) but I got refried, and the portion of refried beans was very very small. Cochinita Pibil is tender shredded pork simmered in Yucatan spices and topped with pickled onions. Thankfully, everything was very flavorful. Although there was a substantial amount of pork belly fat in my burrito, it was well seasoned. I would have appreciated a couple slices of habaneros packed in there. Price 5/5 $9 for sit down burritos is good, even though they didn't last two meals. Everything else on the menu is also very affordable. Service 3/5 Slow. Had another amazing meal here tonight. A bean burrito with chili verde sauce, sour cream, guacamole and a side order of French fries in observance of no meat Lent Friday. Karina was our waitress tonight and made us feel right at home as she always does. She is probably the single most important asset to this gem in our community other than the fantastic chefs themselves. The restaurant was packed, every table in the house and she still makes you feel like the only customer there with her attentiveness and kind nature. The food was awesome, as always, a game was playing on the television and with a full belly and a pint of beer I am once again an extremely satisfied customer. I love you Alfredo's, never change. Alfredo's...I've heard so much about you, I feel like we're old friends. :) Even though I grew up in the South Bay, I just recently went here for the first time. I've passed by it on PCH thousands of times but didn't know if it was legitimate or a dive. I joined some friends (who are regulars) for dinner, and we sat outside on the patio. We got there just as the sun was setting, so it was really comfortable. Service here is STELLAR. The wait staff is super friendly, attentive, and even say "ma'am" and "sir." Normally I would think that is over the top, but the delivery was such that you could tell that they were happy to be serving you. That left a great impression. Prices are really reasonable, especially for the combination plates. The food is pretty standard Mexican fare. I'm not going to say it's amazing, but I'd definitely become a regular. It would be really great for "picky" Mexican food eaters, too (i.e., my mom), as they have items that cater to the "safer" side (think: ground beef tacos). My only complaint? Not a lot of parking. When I arrived, there were no spots except for one hidden around the back of the restaurant. And the restaurant didn't seem busy enough to warrant no spots available. It is located along a residential street; however, so you could probably find parking easily if you're willing to walk. My recommendation? Cheese enchiladas! The mole/ranchero sauce is pretty tasty. We visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner. We were excited to learn that they offered 15% your first visit. It was quaint and clean and large enough to accommodate our party (a party of 13) but they took forever to bring out the food. We must have waited almost an hour after the appetizers came out. Food was decent but there was virtually no service to check on the drinks etc. On top of that they didn't honor the 15% discount. I was just there. Their food is good. I Love it every time I come. I left after standing/waiting (not being acknowledged at all) for about 10-15minutes. Was willing to stay because the food/drinks are always on point. I've had great service in the past and the waitress was hot. They were backed up today, busy and understaffed. The cook had to come out and serve someone. An elder couple left about 3-5 minutes before I did for the same reason. I'd normally give them about 4-5 stars. But today really upset me. Seriously, how is this place so highly rated? Tacos are expensive at $3.69 apiece but figured they'd be high quality tacos. We're in town for my brothers wedding and rented a house 3 minutes away. Eleven tacos ran us about $45 and was a huge disappointment. I've never had tomatoes on a steak taco, and was expecting just onions with cilantro and lime. Instead, we got a small bit of meat, a sad smear of guacamole, tomatoes, onions and cilantro. The picture I posted actually had the most amount of meat out of all of our tacos.
