Found this place as I was driving down Ventura Blvd in studio city. The pictures don't amount to how good the bowls really are. There's is parking in the back and on the street. It's a small place but they keep it very clean. Being the first time here the menu was very easy to follow. Kind of like order as you go down the line like chipotle. First you have your choice of rices,salad or chips. I got half white rice, half salad which is an option. They have small, medium and large bowls. I got the medium because I knew I would love it. Perfect size! With the medium bowl you get to pick 3 proteins, so much to choose from. I choose spicy tuna, salmon and tuna. They have scallops, chicken, shrimp etc. Then they add green onions, corn, seaweed, cucumber, ginger and there's more. I got everything, avacado is extra. I got my bowl with spicy mayo dressing. In love with this place! First time was a success! If you like poke bowls, this is a must try. They also have other locations including west hollywood, eaglerock and long beach. So this is my second time coming to this Poke restaurant . And as most of you are mentioning it does have a great presentation and staff . However idk if it's cause I came here right before closing so maybe everything wasn't as fresh but I definitely got FOOD POISONING from this restaurant . It's better to go inside to place an order. I ordered over the phone, arrived and waited 30 minutes for my food (two bowls, one for me and my mom) because they were attending the people inside. Some people arrived after me, ordered and left with their food and I was still waiting. It was pretty sad...I mean. I was hungry. One guy was doing the to go orders so they probably need more help or really don't do well taking to go orders. In n out would of been way faster or perhaps another poke bar. A good assortment or sides and toppings but my rice was undercooked and the edamame was quite hard too, I'm used to the edamame being perfectly soft. Let me start off this review by saying I'm VERY picky when it comes to fish (my father is a fisherman and I've been raised only eating the freshest fish.) So unless you are like me and want to know if this place is up to those standards, ignore this review because you'll probably love this place!! As soon as you walk in, theres a really fishy smell in the air which is usually a really bad sign for me. It's not the highest quality fish and it's noticeable. Fantastic Poke place. The food is fresh and the quality of service is the same. I have visited a number of Poke restaurants and this is my favorite by far. Raw fish scares some, it scared me the first time I had it I thought I would die. But I didn't! Unfortunately the seating is an issue as there is not any seating. Inside there are 2 bars to stand and eat and I am more than happy to stand and eat, it is actually fun and different. The city of Burbank is to blame for the seating issue. They will not permit the business to have seating due to lack of parking provided by said business. It must be a new code due to the fact The New Deal next door has a decent amount of seating. (Also a fantastic place to eat) Don't blame the fish people for the lack of seating. Order your bowl grab a drink from the fridge and stand at the bar and enjoy the most active corner on Magnolia. read more

Love this place! I love that I'm able to get those grey noodles here sooo yummm! Also, they're not one of those places that charge you $1 for every topping. They also give normal human portions instead of tiny small portions which has been such an annoying thing I've found at poke places the more they become popular. I love poke bowls and overall this place is awesome! I would give it a 5 star review except for 2 minor points: 1) The online menu states that one of the options for your base is Soba noodles, however they do not actually serve this option. I love Soba noodles, so this was quite a disappointment :( For some odd reason, they offer nacho (tortilla chips) as an option for base, which I cannot understand. Since you advertise online that you have Soba noodles, why don't you start serving them? Please!!!! :) 2) One of the times I came, I felt like the fish I got (I think it was my salmon) was not as fresh at it should have been. Every time before that, and every time since it has been perfect. Not sure why that day it wasn't on point, but the majority of the time it is great. Decided to try this new poke place and it was good, tasted pretty fresh and its a great deal. I always go for the large because my eyes are bigger than my stomach although that's pretty big too lol! I got 4 scoops and there were several options similar to most poke places.... although they didn't have yellowtail and I like yellowtail. like most poke bars there's always something a little different about them that you either love or hate so here's what I loved: -prices are very reasonable and portions are filling. -fish is fresh -good amount of fish options -They have like 6 very different sauces including the basic house sauce. pretty straight to the point some places have too many sauce options and mixtures and it just gets too complicated to order. the have extra topping like mandarins and mango -ordering process is simple check in on yelp you get free avocado or mango -plenty of seating - they have a frequent visitors punch card. what I didn't love: -No yellowtail - spicy things were not spicy. the spicy tuna not spicy at all, I got jalapenos and nothing either. it needed a spicy little kick and didn't taste it. -the 2nd step which is a choice of seaweed salad, crab meat , edamame, and some other things, what at some other poke shops you can get them all this one you only have a choice of 2 of them. so naturally I went with seaweed salad and crab meat , but I would have also liked some edamame. -Lastly, and perhaps what bugged me the most about this place is that they have No fountain drinks. only cans and bottles I really don't like that. I like to be able to get a refill on my drink and don't like feeling limited to the few ounces in the little bottles that I was charged 2.50 each for. that's too much for a little bottle. That's all so more likes than dislikes, so I'll most likely be back especially cause I got a punch card to fill up, but won't be ordering any drinks. read more

Whenever I try rating a restaurant, I always ask myself, will I ever come back? I will definitely be back here. Parking is a little inconvenience since it's on the big street, but I think I was fortunate enough to go at an off time. It wasn't busy at all, and the worker was really nice. The only thing I had a problem with was that they DRENCH your food with sauce. My understanding of "light" sauce is LIGHT SAUCE. However, it seems like Poke Bar takes sauces seriously. It was heavily mayo-y & I didn't feel too great afterwards. One tip: Go with double seaweed salad instead of half seaweed half imitation crab. The imitation crab isn't that great. Also, their spicy sauces are REALLY spicy, so if you can't handle spicy, DON'T DO IT. read more

I was surprised to see that this place is no longer Poke Bar, but was very relieved and excited that the food, free avocado check-in, and genuine workers were still there. I have been to several poke places around LA and OC, but I have always considered this place to be my #1 favorite. They give generous servings of fish and you get unlimited toppings, unlike many other poke places. They only charge extra on avocado and mango ($1). I'm not joking when they PACK your bowl. If they don't put enough of something, just ask and they'll put more. But that rarely happens to me. My food ends up looking like a mountain when it's done! They also have great dry toppings like fried onion and garlic and you can sample their variety of sauces if you're unsure what to get. Parking can be a bit tight, but whatever you do, don't park in the Layered parking spots!! Even though they changed the name, the Poke Bar stamp cards are still accepted and they exchange them with the new ones. I live 30 minutes from this place but always choose to go here because it is sooooo good. It's THE best. read more
