I've gotten takeout from here twice now and it's been delicious both times. My favorite so far has been the corned beef and hash. I also really appreciate that they look at customer requests. I had chosen fruit for my side and asked for bananas if they had them. Obviously it was no biggie if they didnt since I'm sure they have certain fruit each day and I would have in no way been mad if I got different fruit. Pretty solid Hawaiian breakfast spot. The only downside is that they close after 2pm. We've ordered from them on two occasions and both times did not disappoint. First time we got the loco moco and the katsu curry chicken rice. The katsu was very akin to what you might find at other Hawaiian restaurants. The sauce (curry and gravy) was a little skimpy, though, on both dishes. So for our second visit we ordered the loco moco and asked for extra gravy. They hooked it up! System was done so you could only pay with cash but it had to be the exact amount. They gave us one dish only when I had ordered 2. I had to complain to them asking where the Kalua Benedict was and how long it's going to take meanwhile they have given all other orders to the customers after me. Now Benedict should have poached eggs, but this place doesn't know how to poach that they cooked their eggs in some round container that it's cooked way to long. No runny yolk just runny grease. The POG was disgusting like it was and old can juice they found in the back and decided to sell. Big disappointment!! read more

Was looking for a new place to have breakfast with some family that were coming in from out of town, and this place had great reviews and the food looked amazing. I was already thrilled that there were plenty of options on the menu. You could have savory- eggs, scrambles, breakfast burritos. Or you could have sweet- pancakes, waffles, crepes, and french toast. Every item has a different twist, making it unique. I got the Island Chilaquiles, my sister and cousin both got the Turkey Sausage Stacked Island Breakfast Burrito, my Aunt got the Kalua Pork Benedict, and we shared a plate of normal short stacks (3 pancakes). I loved loved loved my Island Chilaquiles. The chips still had a small crunch; they weren't totally soggy, I got my eggs over easy, and their house made chipotle ranchero was a touch spicy, not overwhelming, and really tied it all together. The Kalua Pork Benedict was perfect. I loved how the sweet and tender the pork went with the eggs as well as the creamy hollandaise sauce. The breakfast potatoes were huge, just a touch crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Stacked Island Breakfast Burrito was maybe the most average thing we'd gotten, but that's the thing, you can't go wrong with a breakfast burritos. The scrambled eggs were light and fluffy, the turkey sausage was flavorful, and it had the huge breakfast potatoes in the burrito as well. If you're not looking for anything crazy and over the top different, the breakfast burrito is perfect. It's also huge and totally worth the price. We all wanted pancakes, but didn't want to eat a lot, so sharing some is a great idea. They were the perfect pancakes! Light, fluffy, and filling haha. Perfect way to end the breakfast; with something sweet. The staff were friendly, attentive; always asking if everything was okay and if we needed anything else. I had spam and scrambled eggs with fried rice. The rice and eggs were really good. But the star of the meal was disappointing because it looked like they precooked the spam then reheated it so it had the consistency of cardboard. I grew up eating spam and once had it straight out the can while sitting on top of a main battle tank in the Mojave desert. I like mine just fried and greasy! We use to go here a lot. For some reason one day we weren't allowed to sit unless we have placed an order. My kids and I decided to grab an open table so we can eat comfortably, but then the waitress was trying to kick us out off the table. She told me we weren't allowed to sit unless we have an order. I told her my wife is in line ordering. The waitress keeps insisting. As far as I know, this restaurant was an open table. Wasn't a full service restaurant. Since that incident, we were embarrassed publicly. So we decided to not go there anymore. We referred a bunch of people to go there but not anymore. Instead we make the effort to drive to Anaheim and got to 8th Haus for their ube pancakes. I'm sorry but we will never go to this location at least. I just hope no one else experienced what we went through. Loved the food here, but after that incident. I rather make the effort to drive and go elsewhere. read more

Disclaimer: I rarely ever write reviews but this was just a bad customer experience I ordered my food via Yelp/Grubhub and went to pick up my order once I received the "Ready for pickup" message. When I arrived I waited in the pick up order area and asked for assistance, they directed me to wait in line to speak with the cashier. After speaking with the cashier to pick up my "Ready for pickup" order I was advised to go back and wait in the pick up order area again. The employee that directed me to the cashier line then tells me my food isn't ready. The manager then tells me that I shouldn't use Grubhub to order there because they just turn it off, and next time I should call in instead. Ten minutes go by and she tells me that they're waiting for my loco moco to finish. A total of 30+ minutes wasted waiting for my "Ready for pickup" order with little to NO customer service. Once my food is ready the manager hands me my order and tells me to just get a refund from Grubhub. Once I get to my car I check my food and my pancakes & loco moco are cold and gravy is chunky. Maybe this was a one-off experience because most of the reviews are positive but overall it was just TERRIBLE. The loco moCOLD patty had good flavor, but probably would've tasted better on time and at least lukewarm. Management pawning the blame over to Grubhub and telling me to get a refund from them instead of apologizing for their TERRIBLE service rubbed me the wrong way. Coffee is hot. Plenty of seats in an Thursday morning. I asked for a cup of water bringing the cashier my finished coffee. Want to use same cup for environmental friendly purpose. Today August 11th, 12pm, we went inside aloha stacks. There were a lot of people eating at this time so I went in line to order and my husband and daughter when to find a seat. I was second in line when I noticed that a guy who works there approached my husband and daughter on the table and asked them to moved to different table because the table was reserved. There was no reserved sign on the table and the guys said that they have to move to a 3 person table outside because the table they were at are at a 4 person table and that a lot of people are coming in to eat. What the heck? We always come and eat here and this is how they treat their customers now? Then another lady who works there went to the table again and said that next time we get a number first before we can seat. We felt we were targeted and we they were racists! Tried to give this place a few tries but it fails to impress every single time. Their Kahlua pork is a greasy mess. I mean honestly - if you had to cook pork and just throw liquid smoke over it that's what it tasted like. No thoughtfulness in the dishes just living off the name. The captain Mac Nut is overly sweet and no hints of macadamia. Also, for a breakfast joint they have no idea how to cook a sunny side up egg for the loco moco. Such a shame. read more

Very disappointed. Had eggs benedict delivered (new it wouldn't be as good as eating at restaurant). The eggs were not completely cooked. Should have been runny but when you see a runny egg that is white means your egg was not cooked correctly. So i basically just ate raw egg. No seasoning on benedict or potatoes which were hard. No gloves in sight, cooks improperly wearing masks under their noses, workers repeatedly touching their masks/faces and then handling food without washing or sanitizing their hands.
