My recent visit to this place was a very good experience. We opted to dine out on the patio which was a very nice experience. I love when restaurants offer outside seating. Our server was unnecessarily apologetic for the wait time. But we really didn't notice a longer than usual wait time. We ordered our drinks which didn't take too long to arrive. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and my friend ordered the Pineapple Express calzone. Both dishes were delicious. Came here on a Wednesday at around 5:45 and expected to get seated fairly quickly. I thought wrong we waited for about forty-five minutes for a table for two. After we got seated we were almost immediately asked for our drink orders and that was about all we heard from our waitress other than to ask for our food order. We ordered a large customized pizza with about 6 vegetables topping on it. Each topping was almost $2 so we paid about $10 just in vegetable toppings. The pizza was nothing impressive after waiting way too long for a $25 large pizza with virtually no sauce. Won't be coming back here anytime soon. read more

They ARE open on Sundays, contrary to what Yelp tells you. Pretty decent draft selection: Terrapin, Sweerwater, Blue Moon, Yuengling, and the typical American selections. Very friendly, honest staff on the Sunday night I stopped in. The burger was above average; the bleu cheese made it even better. Fries tasted like fresh cut, however I was wrong. Terrible terrible service. We waited forever to be seated (we even called ahead of time and was ensured there was "no wait" and when we got to the door the person who was standing at the host stand walked away), waited forever for my wine/ our food, had to get up and request it on top of hunt down our waitress down every time we needed something including trying to pay her at the end of the night. On top of that she only charged half of my meal resulting in her having to swipe my card TWICE. When asked how she will fix it she replied with an attitude that "it was already fixed."I ONLY tipped because I believe in karma. She never came to check on our table and could have at the very LEAST brought our starters and KIDS meals. I mean that's the point of a "STARTER", no?? Our kids were starving and restless. Me, my kids, my 5 month pregnant sister and her toddler, stood by FAMISHED as we watched others come in AFTER us, be seated IMMEDIATELY and were served their food/alcoholic beverages BEFORE us. Food was cold/stale tasting, my "calamari" was more fried banana peppers than anything else, the sauce on my tortellini tasted like it came from a can and the sauce was basically non existent. Oh yea! My son threw up his entire meal as SOON as we walked outside. Which consisted of a simple grilled cheese and fries. There are some very biased employees that work here and it's noticeable. There were very few who offered to help me when they saw me standing at the bar waiting for assistance. The one girl who did seat us was very pleasant. Take my advice and do not overlook the low reviews, because there's DEFINITELY truth in them! The business owner keeps flagging my review because they know it's true. They are also editing high reviews to appear "new" so they float to the top but when you READ, you can see the owners response was from 3 months ago. So either they have fake accounts or are having their own people make fake reviews. And make sure you ask to see their health code score. So bottom line here is, if you don't mind wasting your time and money to receive subpar food and HORRIFIC customer service then folks Amici's is your place! Went on a Tuesday night. Not many other people in the place. Family dinner night. Ordered wings, soup, and dinner salad. Wife got Chicken Parmesan. Good beer selection on tap, had the Sam Adams Octoborfest. Never disappoints. Soup arrived before the wings. Soup was pretty good, tonight's soup was tomato basil. Good temperature. Wings finally arrived with the main course. It's a pet peeve of mine when the appetizer arrives with the main course. It kind of worked this time though, since the salad I ordered didn't arrive as explained in the menu. I specifically ordered it because there was no mention of bacon. I don't like bacon on my salad. It came with bacon. I guess they like remaking salads. So I had wings to snack on while I waited for the correct salad to arrive. The wings were overlooked, the skin was crunchy and damn near burned. Dry would be a good way to describe them. They were supposed to be hot wings but I didn't taste any spice at all. Dressing on the salad was good. Chicken was burned. The rest was just kinda meh. It was at this point that our waitress began ignoring us. Took forever to get refills. Wife mentioned her chicken was good, but the pasta was bland. I tried it and I have to agree. For an Italian place, how do you screw up spaghetti? I think I'd rather dine somewhere else in the future. read more

Amici in Covington used to be a great restaraunt and still has its positive moments. In the past year their service has gone down hill. Many times have gone in and had to wait too long to have a waiter take our drink order then another 15 minutes to receive the drinks. Food orders have come out wrong many times and hadn't been redone correctly after being sent back. The management during dinner hours has been mediocre at best even when checking to make sure our service is good there is no effort to get our service sped up and done correctly. Lots of inexperience and lack of care when taking orders. read more

Great atmosphere and good service but don't order the calamari. You pay $10 for a plate of fried yellow pepper with a handful of calamari. And it's hard to tell what is the calamari and what is the pepper since both are cut in circles. The calzone is good and I always appreciate a calzone with lots of meat. read more

We've been regulars here every Wednesday night for at least 10 years, probably longer. Hands down the best wings an pizza around. We get to know the staff and they know and remember us as well. We've been going here for about a year now so about a dozen or so trips so far. Aside from expected occasional hangups with service or incorrect orders the place is pretty good. Times when food wasn't as expected the manager was helpful with compensation, but this was only once or twice that this happened. Pizza is good, wings are ok and burgers seems to have been better a year ago. I don't really recommend the pasta dishes, doesn't seem to be their specialty. Plenty of craft beers to choose from and the atmosphere is friendly. Salads are a good choice here and they have several really dressings to choose from. read more

Was awful from beginning to end. Called before going to check on the wait time. Was told there wasn't one so I went with two other people. Then they told me it would be only a few minutes to wait. The wait lasted 30 minutes before being seated. Our waitress got us drinks and got us appetizers. The appetizers took 20 minutes to come out so at this point everything was good. Then we ordered and waited for 2 hours. The waitress said she was busy but only had 3 parties. We gave her the benefit of the doubt because she had a party of 25 before us but she would walk by us without acknowledging us while we had empty drinks on our table. We asked to talk to the manager and our food came out immediately.... Shocker. We asked for our food to go as we were tired and not hungry anymore. We did not receive a discount or anything after such a long time of waiting. I will NEVER go back to that place. Awful management, staff, and organization. read more

My friends and I went to get a pizza at Amici. I'm a fan of the Muay Thai and seem to keep coming back for that one... I grew up in NY and have been spoiled on Great Pizza. Basically Amici MT has the right amount of heat and a touch of sweet ( I think. I like hot stuff, but more of a mild fan and this was Perfecto!) The service was great, they recognized we were meeting and tlking shop and didn't try to hang around us too much, but they were ready whenever we had a need. and food came out in about 14 minutes(?) My friends had never been there and were surprised that they had more than pizza- they have wings, subs, pasta as well as a burger and fries which were great. I was sure they didn't do fries, but sure enough there a double stacked burger and fries on the menu. Highly recommended for the group next time we are all hungry. read more

I've been going to Amici in Covington for about six years now. I have always been fond of the food, but initially I was not impressed with the service or the management. Within the last year in particular, service has skyrocketed, and I normally eat there about once a week. The food is consistently awesome, the server staff are friendly and funny, and the management is out and interacting with customers regularly. So awesome! I'm glad I decided to come back. For newbies, I recommend the BLT wedge salad, their lemon pepper wings, the buffalo chicken sub (sweet God), and the Greek (try it Blonde) and Margherita pizza are on point. The Ahi Tuna pie bread is pretty phenomenal, too! Thursday night is trivia night -- some nights it's a little long, but it's fun! Grab a few friends and show up, but make sure it's about fifteen minutes early. Amici doesn't do reservations! Wednesday is Wing Night and Friday they normally have some pretty awesome live music! read more

My MIL and SILs and I decided this was going to be the location of our girls lunch and I was not disappointed. Our server was adorable and super friendly which was a nice welcome. I knew I wanted to throw down on a sandwich so when I saw the Chicken Caprese I was sold. I would have liked to have the bread a bit crunchier, it kind of felt mealy in my mouth but the chicken was cooked perfectly with wonderful seasoning that complemented the tomato and mozzarella deliciousness. I was pleased to see that the kitchen did not skimp on the basil, I like a little bit in every bite and was not disappointed. I asked for my balsamic reduction on the side because I like to control sauce/dressing levels on my food but I shouldn't have this time as the reduction was pretty hard to put on the bun. Once the sauce was applied, the whole sandwich really came together. The fries were okay, typical frozen kind but the big grains of salt were a nice touch. I'm still thinking about that sandwich and how to replicate it at home so I'd call this meal a success! read more

Margherita pizza (extra large) - freshly sliced basil was nice, but the canned tomatoes they put on top honestly ruined the pizza Antipasti salad was alright. It was made with an iceberg lettuce salad mix instead of romaine, spinach, arugula, or any of the other greens I would have expected o see. The ham and salami were tasty, though. First come to covington for the filming of the Vampire Dairies and after trying this place on that first visit, whenever we come to Covington, we have to eat here. we get the wings in honey mild... sounded weird at first but turned out to be the best thing in the world. I hate that I can't figure out how to make this sauce because it's now my favorite whenever I'm craving wings. along with a order of fries which me and a friend always have to spilt because they give you an amount that can feed three and we always start off with a salad that comes with what looks like a slice of pizza but must be garlic cheese bread... My family and I ordered "The Works" calzone, Homemade Alfredo and the Double Stacked Cheeseburger. The calzone was packed with toppings, but very little cheese. It was okay, but nothing special. The Alfredo was very bland, not flavorful at all. Our son didn't like his hamburger at all. It was not flavorful, either. Overall, the food was very mediocre and nothing specially delicious. Our server was very kind, however. I'd give the service a higher rating by far. The restaurant was not crowded and was actually fairly quiet. The restaurant has very poor food handling practices! The servers are constantly eating and drinking while serving customers. I can imagine a manager saying..."Employees don't get a break". I would hope not, because it is a poor excuse at customers expense.I find it hilarious that they have a hand wash sink by the bar, but no one seems to use it. They conveniently wipe off the their hands on their clothes or with a dry napkin. It was flat out disgusting. I got a glimpse into the kitchen, and it was a complete joke. No gloves, no beard net, several cooks licking off sauces without washing hands, excess jiving in the kitchen etc. Urgh...There is absolutely no management in this establishment! If you are really hungry, make sure the wings are burning hot to kill the servers bacteria. This is a concern, especially during this flu season. read more

I have eaten at a couple of different Amici's before and this location was disappointing. They are lacking an atmosphere. One wall has a italian themed mural and the other walls are basically bare.
