Needed a nice and non-junk food meal at the airport and got it. Food came out at a reasonable time, so good service overall. Appreciated the environment friendly container and cutlery. Fair amount of seating nearby. You can read all the tech ads to pass the time.

I had an early and long flight from SFO airport earlier this week. I stopped at Amoura cafe to pick up some food. There was no line. The server was nice. I got an omelette with potatoes and pita bread. They were nice enough to put my choice of vegetables in the omelette. I also got some tea, a banana, and yogurt parfait. The total price was about $38, which was slightly cheaper compared to the other airport restaurants. The pita was somewhat hard and chewy, but the omelette, potato, and parfait were quite good. And the food was enough for my breakfast and lunch. So, overall, I was happy with the experience there.

We were looking for breakfast for a morning flight out of SFO. We were flying United so I knew it had to be in Terminal 3 - I found Amoura Cafe. I see there are a range of reviews for other meals but we were very happy with our breakfast meal there. We waited a short time in line and chose the breakfast sandwich. I enjoy a croissant and saw the sandwich prepared right before us (so we know it wasn't sitting there for hours like a lot of restaurant food prepared in advance). The bacon, egg and cheese croissant even came with a side of homestyle (fried) potatoes. A tasty breakfast that was not inexpensive but on par with what I expect to pay at major airports. The next time we have an early morning flight out of SFO (with United) we'll visit Amoura Cafe again.

I found this place on my way between the 2 United Terminals. It was a good surprise to see a healthy option at the airport. There were many variety of prepackaged meals for to-go for the passengers on the counter. I got the falafal sandwich wrap and it was decent. It was more pricier than Portland and a bit smaller.

So headed out on a trip decided to stop by and grab a bite to eat his breakfast time so I needed some. They actually make eggs they like to order so I really like that about it and that's what actually Drew me to order from them as my option I ordered the croissant with egg cheese and turkey sausage and homemade fries, which I'm not a home fries person. The eggs were actually scrambled perfectly light fluffy Rich buttery little bit of cheese, not too much.. The croissant was flaky fluffy fresh decent size so all I equate to a really good sandwich. It's actually something that I'd have the sausage was just a turkey sausage. It wasn't really anything special about it. It was decent fine but every other component, I have to say actually enjoy it..

I recently went to Amoura to get a chicken wrap to-go. The wrap was solid for airport food and prices, and it did not take me long to get it.

This was like $18-19. Overpriced at the airport like everything else. The cashier was nice. The meat was kind of tender and chewy. Hummus was good. Salad was good. Pita bread was kind of soft. There's yellow rice on the bottom that was good. Not much seating and the tables were all filthy. Food was mid.

Fine? Airport food is pretty mid anywhere you go. However, while expensive and generic, it was seemingly healthy. I went with the chicken plate, with a side salad, pita and a bit of hummus. Running in at $18+, it was freshly reheated, but pretty uninspired flavor, but again, healthy. Overall, a solid and healthy meal. I don't think I'd return, but not a terrible option.

    Chicken Shawarma Pita Wrap ($15)

I stopped by Amoura ten minutes before boarding my flight at the adjacent gate; I figured Mediterranean would pack well & not be too greasy/odorous for my fellow passengers. The service was exceptionally kind, and the line moved along well. It's in a food court set-up & seating could be unavailable if you come at a busy time. I took my food to-go and grabbed a couple bites at my gate. Airport food is never inexpensive, but at $15 for a Chicken Shawarma Pita Wrap, I was hoping for a bit more culinary effort. The chicken was breast meat, cut into strips, and was drying out in a chafing dish. The pita was from the large collection of bags behind the till, and pretty much fit the bill (dry). The lettuce was yellowed, the tomato sparse. The garlic cream sauce was a delicious savior of the meal. If I find myself in the same situation in the future, I may go with a mezze plate or try a neighboring food stand. Not a bad choice overall if you're looking for a quick, relatively healthy bite to eat. I received only one glance from a fellow passenger, who smirked at the extremely crinkly bag I pulled from my backpack during the flight. I smiled back & enjoyed my wrap at cruising altitude. Cheers & safe travels!

The Amoura omelet consisting of feta cheese, spinach, and black olives with pita bread and potatoes were overpriced and not worth the price since the quality is more like TV-dinner quality than restaurant quality. The pita bread was a little bit tough to eat.

Service was fast. The pita was hard. Reminds me of cardboard. Meat was bland. Rice was mediocre. The humus was the best thing about this whole plate. This is at an airport, so I give it some grace; nevertheless, it was our first time here and will be our last.

    Watery Greek salad

Mediocre food with really bad attitude from the servers. Quick layover abs decided to get something tasty based on what the menu showed. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap along with the Horiatiki Salad (Greek salad with feta cheese). I also ordered a side of pita to go with my salad. The salad was average at best. As you can see from the picture, there was more water in it vs olive oil which is the basic dressing ingredient, thus making the salad taste worse than it should. Too bad because otherwise it was fairly fresh but I don't want water in my salad. The side of pita was lukewarm at best, simply inedible because if pita isn't warm it is harder to chew and not pleasant to the taste buds. The shawarma was poorly wrapped, most items came loose unless you maintained a tight grip on it which is very hard to do when you try to eat, drink, rest etc. Additionally, it was barely warm, when a chicken shawarma should be very warm or even served hot. Finally, I asked for napkins and she pointed (silently) to the ONE napkin she had placed on my tray, further discouraging me from even asking for one more. Messy food, one napkin... Regretted my decision to stop by here vs choosing another place in the food court...

    Mushy rice, terrible Beef.
    Jonathan Z.

Airport food are expected to not be the greatest but this platter was on another level. The pita bread was not warmed/hot, the rice was mushy, and the beef tasted worst than unseasoned ground beef. $21 for this. I think it's better to go somewhere else. Everything is pre made and put into a box with warm mushy rice. Not recommended. Service was ok, not a lot of interaction.

I ordered the chicken and beef kabob plate, and while the meat was flavorful, I wish they included more hummus. At around $25- $30 per plate, I expected a more generous portion. I ordered takeout and arrived about an hour later because the app never updated to show my order was ready. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and they didn't start preparing my food until I got there. I mentioned that I had placed the order an hour earlier and expected it to be ready, but the server seemed to brush off my concern, which was disappointing. One highlight was the hot sauce. I'm not sure if it's house-made or not, but it's so good. The pita, however, was a letdown. I prefer my pita soft, fluffy, and warm, but this one was hard and grainy. Overall, it's a cute restaurant with decent food, but it isn't my top choice.

The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good. The meat combo was good overall and everything was very herbally spiced, I wasn't impressed by the lamb tho but the kebab, hummus, and chicken were great! I haven't had Mousakhan before so not sure how it should taste but to me it was sweet and savory with really well cooked chicken. I honestly felt pretty healthy overall cause I was eating hella veggies and everything tasted so fresh. The kunafa was good we got it crispy and was yummy imo but was a lil oily (I think this is normal tho). Arab food isn't really spicy but it is spiced and very herbal which I felt in the food here, I appreciate that chili sauce is provided for the spice lovers. Overall, would highly recommend. It was about $100ish for everything and they recently increased their prices but tbh the portion sizes are huge and I feel like it is so worth it we had hella leftovers. I booked our table about a month in advance, which turned out to be the right move because the restaurant was bustling during the lunch hour. To start, we ordered four small plates to share among our party of four: meatballs, saganaki, spanakotiropita, and a pair of dips (melitzanosolata and favasalata) with pita. Everything was excellent, and our spread was inclusive of a wide variety of flavors and textures: salty, creamy, acidic, sweet, crunchy. The meatballs and the dips are definitely a must-order and are ideal for sharing. The spanakotiropita were larger and more filling than expected, so if I were to order those again, I'd dial it back and stick with small plates rather than a full-sized entree. The saganaki was a showstopper; it is served sizzling and crackling on a cast iron dish and had a nice salty flavor that allowed the cheese to be served on its own. For my main dish, I ordered the braised goat - which is not something I'd typically order because goat meat is usually tough - but I was intrigued how it was prepared as a stew. The dish almost reminded me of a Moroccan tagine - the goat was braised to peak tenderness and bathed in a slightly fruity and well-spiced sauce; dotted with pieces of melted feta; and served on top of a bed of baked orzo, which was served fresh-from-the oven in a mini cast iron dish. I was so full after our meal that I had to walk it off for a few blocks, but I cannot wait for our next special occasion so we can come back and celebrate with another feast at Kokkari Estiatorio.

Later, I had to make another trip to remind them we had ordered dessert. Then another trip when we wanted a to-go box. Apparently, the evening's theme was "interactive dining," where the guests perform most of the customer service duties themselves. Tips are forced when you first order online - no refunds on that. The bathroom offered its own adventure. The trash bin was overflowing with dirty paper towels, and there was little to no toilet paper available. As the daughter of a health inspector, knowing that staff use the same facility, I would have given this a poor hygiene grade. What made the experience frustrating was that the food was good enough to make you want to come back. But when your guests spend half the meal looking for someone to help them, it takes away from what could have been a 'more' pleasant evening.

The service was friendly and welcoming even when our party came at different times. The restaurant wasn't busy given it was a Monday evening, so you would think it would go smoothly. *** OUR PICKS *** COMBO APPETIZER PLATTER ~ hummus, baba ghanouj, haydari, ezme, dolmas, merimek, falafel ~ parts of the platter were cold while the falafel was warm, but they topped it off with a sauce that didn't keep the falafel crispy, instead it softened it. I think the sauce should have been on the side. The rest of the dish was good. 4/5 LAMB KEBAB PLATE ~ this was my dish. I touched my skewers thinking they were going to be hot, but it was surprisingly cold. I'm not sure why skewers would be cold when the food should be hot right off the grill. The lamb was cooked medium rare as I requested, though there was little to no seasoning. So it was kind of gamey and tasteless 3/5 RACK OF LAMB PLATE ~ my partner chose this dish. The lamb was also very light in seasoning. The pistachio rice was interesting and nutty. Asparagus was good. 3.5/5 MIXED GRILL PLATE ~ our friend enjoyed this dish. Maybe a mixed grill is the way to go and some meats cooked and seasoned better than others. 4/5 BEEF KEBAB PLATE ~ the beef was also room temperature and lightly seasoned. 3.5/5 SALMON ~ I tried some of this and it was decent. 4/5 BAKLAVA & CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE ~ Nice birthday surprise and a sweet way to end the meal. Baklava wasn't as crispy or flaky as some I've had, but the honey-pistachio nuts were good. Chocolate mousse cake was decadent and moist. 4/5 Beautiful presentation on the plating of our food, though the timing for the food wasn't quite right as a few plates were served room temperature and not hot. However, the surprise desserts were a nice touch in helping us celebrate a birthday!
