The best thing by far is the crispy pork belly which for a $2 up-charge you can have 3pcs. It also comes with a complimentary cup of broth which was surprisingly aromatic and flavorful. Me and my friend came here for lunch using the Uber Eats pick up deal. Honestly for what you get it's a really good value. For roughly 40 dollars we got two calamansi drinks, two large bowls stuffed to the brim with food, chicken broth, and 3 dessert jars. The meats that I got in it were good, however the crispy pork belly was by far the best of the three options I chose, which retained its crispy skin while also remaining juicy on the meat side. The berkshire pork meatball tasted slightly dry for my taste and perhaps needed to warmed to a higher temp. In terms of the interior and service, the inside was clean and the staff were very friendly and inviting. There is limited seating on the first floor so it's advised to go up to the second floor where roll play resides to get more ample space. read more

This is a build your own bowl style place with a Vietnamese twist. I liked the concept but it could have been executed better. The portion size could have been bigger and the veggies a little less greasy. I paid extra for the crispy pork and while I liked the crispy skin, the actual pork meat was dry. I definitely prefer the coconut shrimp as a protein. They were big, succulent, and thankfully not fried. The coconut flavor was good and not too overwhelming. I wish they had more vegetarian and vegan proteins. The only plant-based option was a vegan ball that was fried. I would have prefer a tofu option or guac/avocado or tempeh or edamame. I personally liked the Citrus Sesame and Thai basil sauce of the 4 sauces I tried. They had a great Uber Eats deal. Bowls are a little expensive regular price though given the smaller portion size. They have a nice seating and hangout area upstairs. Note the entrance on Google Maps is not accurate. I'd come back just for that. I also got the crispy pork belly. My advice for that is not to go when they are about to close. It was no longer crispy. It must taste great when it's fresh out of the oven. If you don't want to build your own, they also have pre-selected bowls. The good jars for dessert are also healthy jars with collagen. I had to try it once, but I might not again because they were $9.50 a jar! The prices definitely will tell you that you're in Arlington if finding parking hasn't already. There's equally good Roll Play on the second floor of the same building. The staff was friendly and helpful. There aren't many places to sit on the first floor, but a cute little corner. However, the whole second floor has plenty of seats and nice views. I love the food, the interior design, and the views. I don't love the location and parking. So sad that Roll Play removed their bubble tea menu, but this isn't a bad replacement! Located next to Nando's Peri Peri, I ordered a large "Create Your Own Bowl" which allows for you to choose 3 proteins, 4 bases, unlimited toppings and dressing, and homemade broth. You start with selecting your base, then your protein (pork meatballs were yummy), followed up with toppings, dressings, and crunchy toppings. Lastly, you get to choose your broth (chicken bone broth was good) and check out. I also ordered the Matcha Sago Latte which comes pre bottled. Everything tasted good and fresh. Service was great too. The staff communicated early on that there would be a wait for the pork meatballs if I was willing to wait, and they provided options on how I wanted it (wait by the register or have it brought up to the second floor while I was eating). I think the time estimate might have been a bit off, but I got it and it was hot and tasty. Since this is a concept of Happy Endings Hospitality like Roll Play, it shares the same decor and seating as Roll Play which is located above. It's in the same space as Roll Play, and currently only paid street parking. The upstairs has more seating and is very spacious. The bowls are decent portion, but can be a little pricier with premium toppings and add-ons. Some of my favorite ingredients are Brown/Red Rice, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Spicy Glazed Eggplant, Coconut Shrimp, Crispy Pork Belly, and Jammy Egg. You can't go wrong with any toppings honestly. ASK FOR DRESSING ON THE SIDE. I do it every time so it doesn't get too soggy or feel like the bowl is drowning. Most of the dressings are pretty tangy, but my favorites are the Spicy Passion Fruit and Scallion Lemongrass. My favorite part of it all is that you get a complimentary broth on the side!!!!! My friend and I stopped by a few weeks ago, and the employees getting our orders had great recommendations. They also loaded up our bowl with so many toppings! REG: CREATE YOUR BOWL - 14 This comes with 2 proteins, 3 bases, unlimited toppings and 2 dressings along with homemade broth. I decided to get the following: * Base: bok choy/napa cabbage, brown/red rice and roasted carrots * Protein: AN chicken and coconut shrimp * Toppings: Pickled medley, snap peas, broccolini slaw, and crispy garlic shallot * Dressings (which I got on the side): Citrus sesame * Broth: Chicken bone broth As a whole, the bowl I made was delicious, and the flavors complemented each other well. I kept the dressings on the side (which was good) because it was already so flavorful without it. I really liked the coconut shrimp because it comes with this creamy and savory sauce (that my server really hyped up) that was the perfect sauce with the rice. There were plenty of vegetables and protein, all tasted healthy yet delicious at the same time. For the price, I'd say it's pretty worth it to get a balanced meal. I felt incredibly full after eating the bowl, and in the future, I'll get a large bowl (+1 protein and +1 base) so I can split it into two meals. The chicken bone broth was rich and tasted like what a chicken pho broth would be like. I personally found it hearty and enjoyable, but my friend didn't like hers as much as I did. It's a little weird but I kind of love it? The people there describe it as Asian Chipotle but I think they are underselling themselves - yes, it is a build-a-bowl concept but it has some of the most varied and creative options I have encountered anywhere. I normally don't like build-a-bowl places but I like this because it is so comparatively elevated. I will say that because the flavors are so varied and complex and interesting, you're probably not going to like every possible ingredient. I think it is worth coming multiple times and trying different things to figure out what you like. I didn't love the bamboo salad or the shrimp in my first bowl but adored the onion rice and the eggplant, so next time I got the things I liked and swapped out the things I didn't and my bowl was deliiiiicious. I also highly recommend keeping track of your combos so you can reproduce the ones you love because, again, there is way more variety here than at Chipotle or like concepts. The first time I went there wasn't a vegetarian protein but they have since added vegetarian meatballs. They taste nothing like meatballs but they are good, I think of them more like veg patties. And they are filling and a good value for price. I do still wish they would add a no-protein option. Of the three times I have been the first two were online, but my most recent ordering experience was in person and the person who helped me was super nice and friendly. So far, so good. Man, with this place being tied to Roll Play (and maybe the same ownership? not sure), I had high expectations. I ordered AN on Uber Eats because of the BOGO promotion they have going on for bowls, and received 2 bowls with some of the worst mistakes you can possibly make in food service: 1. The first bowl had a piece of plastic in it, as pictured 2. The second bowl had pork instead of shrimp, a clear mix-up between my two bowl orders (only one was supposed to have pork). What if someone couldn't eat pork for religious or other dietary reasons? Both of these are two of the biggest no-no's in food service and they happened to be on my first visit, on two separate meals. I'm not sure how this happens as the place never seems to have much traffic, at least in the evenings. Luckily, Uber Eats refunded my full meal. I'm adding 2 stars to be nice because mistakes happen and the food was decent otherwise. Luckily both meals were mine and I eat pork, but the plastic ruined my appetite for this place. Good food with quality ingredients and flavors. It's a make your own bowl place with some great southeast asian flavors. Service was quick and friendly. I got the AN chicken and the pork meatballs. Both were excellent. The AN chicken reminded me a bit of singapore chicken rice in terms of the poached taste. Combine that with the ginger/scallion dressing and you got a decent version. They offer dressing, but honestly almost every item itself is well seasoned in some way that I barely needed any dressing. I tried chicken, shrimp and pork belly. For base I tried rice, grilled eggplant (it's not really spicy), sweet potato and bok choy between the two bowls and all good. Plenty of toppings all fresh and tasted healthy yet flavorful. Also I got the regular sized bowls not large but it's jam packed and I couldn't finish. I normally can finish my cava bowl.
