Scrambled eggs, Bacon, Hash Browns and sourdough toast
    Rudy M.

Been wanting to try this place and during race weekend I met my friend there right next to the metro station. It was a little busy but my friend was already waiting for me. It's a nice open restaurant with a lot of seating and a covered patio outdoors. I kept my choice simple and had bacon and eggs and it was delicious. Fluffy eggs, plenty of bacon and crispy hash browns. The sourdough was good but I wished more butter was on them. My friend had the Ham, egg and cheese burrito which look well put together. It came with red and green salsa but the green was tolerable for both of us. I watched others get different things and they look pretty good. I will have to come back and try other dishes.

Tried the Cajun country skillet it was so delicious. From the gravy flavor, to the Cajun chicken flavor, to the eggs to the house potatoes everything was delicious. It is a generous portion had to take the rest to go.

A great corner location for some delicious breakfast and coffee. We shared the Cajun chicken and waffles and opted for the two egg two waffle Combo. We were torn between the Cajun chicken vs the Texas fried chicken so ordering a side of the Texas style checked that curiosity box. The Lavender Latte is made with two lavender pumps but I requested just one and the lavender flavor was perfectly balanced ... not overpowering the coffee. Service was friendly and helpful as this was our first visit so the server's suggestions made it easy for us to make our final decisions. A five star " best waffle spot" in the LBC. For & Waffles

This restaurant is in downtown Long Beach. A garage is conveniently located next door. The restaurant has cute decor and indoor and outdoor seating. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. The waffles were delicious. The chicken fried steak was pretty good. The eggs and potatoes needed seasoning, but I understand that most breakfast restaurants do not use much seasoning. They provided three different types of hot sauce, so I was satisfied.

We stopped into this place because it was next-door to our auto rental location. It's one of the best breakfast places we've ever been. The waffles are massive, but so incredibly light. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the staff was so incredibly nice. It's such a cute place in the middle of the city. We really loved it.

Delicious chicken and waffles and latte's. The owner was our sever and he was very accommodating. The inside was spacious and had enough seating. Loved it and will come again!

This was a really delicious skillet. It was packed full of potatoes. They didn't skimp out on anything. The service was also pretty fast for it being super busy. I would definitely eat here again!

They'll keep you hydrated..and how cute is the iced tea refill?!?!

We had a great experience here. We had never been and were curious about some menu items. The owner took our order. He was very patient, answering all my questions and giving recommendations. The breakfast was great, but the standout was the carryout burger we got for our kiddo. The burger was phenomenal. Great service, tasty food, and an easy walk from hotels near the mall and convention center.

Everything was delicious and the service was great. Eat here, you won't regret it. We had a combination of breakfast dishes and one lunch item - the steak sandwich with a side of salad. The breakfast items were perfectly done and they even split two of them up for us to share. Eggs and proteins were cooked just as we asked and then there's the star of the show: the waffles. These are some of the best "American style" (my terminology, not theirs) Belgian waffles I've ever had. They're light, fluffy inside and not very sweet- the ultimate Asian diner compliment. That's probably because they pair their waffles with everything from chicken to sausage to bacon to churro-ifying them, so a balanced base lets them use their waffles as the foundation for many different dishes. Ultimately what matters is the taste, and these did not disappoint! The steak sandwich was also great and delicious, meat cooked perfectly, with arugula helping add a flavor dimension to balance out the richness of the steak. The decor of the restaurant is a mix of modern industrial (like a breakfast Chipotle) and a hint of old American diner. It's clean and comfortable if a little lacking in pizazz. This is the first review I've written that uses that word. It will probably be the last. Anyways, eat here! It's great.

Lavender honey latte. It was very sweet!

I visited this waffle spot twice, once for dine-in and once for a to-go order. The dine-in experience was fantastic. I loved the clean, spacious interior and stylish decor. Our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Cajun chicken wings and waffle. The wings were freshly fried hot, juicy, and crispy but they were a bit lacking in flavor. The waffle, though, was amazing: light, fluffy, crispy on the outside, and served hot. Just a tip: the powdered sugar and butter look beautiful on top, but I recommend getting the butter on the side so the waffle doesn't get soggy too quickly. The honey lavender latte tasted great, just very sweet. Unfortunately, the next morning's to-go order wasn't as good. I know it's tough to keep quality high with takeout, but the waffle was soggy, the eggs were hard, and only the bacon stood out. The breakfast feels a bit pricey for what you get, but it's a nice occasional treat.

This is a cool chicken & waffles restaurant. The owners are French/Armenian and have added some items to their menu which are influenced by their heritage. There's also a very large, shaded outdoor patio.

Hands down one of the best breakfast meals I've ever had in my life. We came on a Monday morning at about 1030 and it was not too crowded. It definitely started to fill up after 11 AM. Our waitress was super nice and had recommendations for us. I decided to go with the waffle stuffed with sausage. It was the best waffle I've ever had in my life. My spouse had the chicken and waffles. He could not stop raving over how well the chicken was cooked and how delicious it was. Next time we are in Long Beach we will definitely be back. This place is amazing.

Been waiting for the place to open up and finally had the opportunity to go! I got a Waffle Combo with Strawberry & Nutella toppings. This comes with 3 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 sausage (I had them substitute sausage for more bacon). Partner got Cajun Fried Chicken and Waffles with 3 eggs. We overall like the food, definitely would go again. They are ADA and dog friendly. They also have indoor and outside seating. Service is on top of it and accommodating as well.

This place popped up, and it was happy hour. So we thought why not. We got lucky and found parking close (rare for that street). And walked over and immediately loved the vibe. We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. I will say that the prices are a bit steep for me. Very glad we came during the happy hour. But really want to return to try the food and more drinks. Maybe on a special date night out!

Visually, the burger was impressive and looked exactly like something you'd want to dig into. However, the salt level was overwhelming to the point where I genuinely could not finish it. What made matters worse was that our server was not attentive with refilling our waters, and when you're working through an extremely salty dish, hydration isn't optional. I left the meal feeling dehydrated and honestly a little frustrated. The bright spot of the visit was the Brussels sprouts, which were genuinely well done and showed some real kitchen care. If I were to return, I'd probably stick to the vegetable sides. For a restaurant with a 4 PM lull and minimal table traffic, there's no excuse for that level of inattentiveness. A simple water refill and a quick check in would have saved the experience. As it stands, the combination of an over salted entrée and absent service made for a tough sell on the value. If you're in the area craving a burger, you might want to save your money and head down the street to Louis Burger instead. Ellie's may shine in other areas; I've heard good things about the pasta, but this particular visit missed the mark.

It's right in Belmont and one neighborhood away from the water. Great date place and bar too. 2026 update: This breaks my heart. The menu has changed, the chef has definitely changed and service has unfortunately gone down. First off they cut a good portion of the menu and the physical design is not the easiest to read. (that's not really a problem tbh but it's something to note) What is the problem are the following: Ordering food for 3 took 20 minutes for servers to come, get food, and water + drinks we ordered. food took almost 45 minutes to arrive at the table. I get the kitchen makes a lot of stuff but this is crazy. at this point we were here for over an hour without eating. Not only were the orders wrong but also food portions were noticeably smaller. Credit due here, they fixed that (ofc which takes an extra time). Final straw here: To get someone's attention, get the bill, then for them to come get the bill, pay, and give us our cards back took: TWENTY MINUTES. Just to pay. tldr: food prices went up, staff not attentive, food still decent but different chef. Food is noticeably saltier. The line looks long outside, as there are no reservations, but it moves quickly since they hold everybody to a pretty strict 2-hour time limit. It's an all-around fun experience.  I think because of this, you do pay a premium price tag for food and drinks that are just good or okay. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. Don't think people wanted those seats. One section was empty which we asked if they could moved the umbrella a little to shade us and the other section. We couldn't sit there as we were told that it was for a group of three that was waiting already and they requested it shaded. Ok, so we can't share the umbrella.... Anyway, we sat down and did move the umbrella a little where it would shade everyone but the hostess came back minutes later and moved it back. And of course, the group didn't even sit there which they ended up putting two other people who didn't even care if the umbrella was there... Enough of that. Service was on the slow side. It did take a while till someone came over to take our order as well as brought over some water. Menu did look similar but I'm not sure if they added new items on the menu. After we ordered which did take a while a drink did come out. I had to walk over to the bar section to ask for a straw. Appetizer did come out pretty fast which was the onion blossom. It looked amazing, a little salty but good. The waiter that brought it out for us, I asked for an extra side of dipping but that never came out. As for the main, the honey chicken sandwich and the breakfast croissant. Well, when the dish came out, one of the order was wrong. Instead of croissant sandwich, it was a breakfast sandwich instead. Server was a little taken back and asked the waiter which they looked somewhat confused. Don't know if it was an honest mistake or they just put in the wrong order. Anyways, had to wait for that to come out. Again, still didn't get any extra sauce which I ended up walking to a table to grab some ketchup instead. One of the server did notice but was like whatever. Rarely did we get checked on until I asked for a refill which was once the whole time. When the bill came, I had to ask again. Not once did water get refilled the whole time till the end. Service was just not the same as prior visit. I don't know if it's new management or just a change in name but it wasn't a nice experience. The food was good I give that but service this time, major fail. Hopefully it's not alway like that. Hopefully, next time will be different.
