The kids in this store are not as nice or caring as the Mesa Mckellips store. I ordered a small chocolate and vanilla for my son and a large mixer for me. The small was less than par. It was ridiculous in the shortage amount of ice cream they put it. read more

First, I want to say that the custard is DELICIOUS!!! I have tried a couple different mixtures there and also plain vanilla custard and it's always good. I'd like to mention that I went to Andy's a few days ago on an unplanned trip with my dog in the back seat and the guy who took my order asked if I thought my dog wanted a treat...ummmmm, HECK YEAH!!! Wanted to show love to this new custard shop in the hood, was going to wait, but we were so impressed by how this brand new store handled seemingly everyone in PHX tonight: here it is. We don't go out for sweets often, especially to "Hot & New" places because they are usually too people-y and judge-y neither of which are a few of my favorite things. After a crazy 48 hours of errands and appointments, we stopped in earlier. We got vanilla and chocolate malteds, and enjoyed them. Great way to cool off on a swampy night. The joint was jumping, and some people - customers - were total douchenozzles, but the staff was friendly, and composed. Impressive, I'd have walked out when the first Desperate Housewife started sniping about "waiting" because NOBODY else was :::eyeroll::: anyway, we are fans, and will be back to try a plain custard. Delanna took care of us at the drive thru window- very friendly and made sure all of our orders were made properly and done quickly. My boyfriend has a tree nut allergy so they accommodated his order by taking the extra time to clean the hardware they use to make the custard, which we appreciated. We ordered smalls of the triple chocolate concrete and the James brownie funky jackhammer. The portions are rather large, you could probably share 1 between 2 people- if you can agree on a flavor, of course! So rich, creamy and perfectly sweet! I do not have a major sweet tooth, but this definitely satisfied my craving! Be prepared to pay a little extra, it is a bit pricey. However, judging strictly on the quality of the custard alone, I think they're pretty damn good! Great experience, will return. read more

SUPER tasty! Lots of flavor, you can defiantly tell it's full cream custard! The drive through was packed so we did the walk up and there was no wait! Staff is super friendly and the place is WELL LIT you can't miss it at night! My daughter wanted icecream and I looked this place up on Yelp! It was a great choice! They have an abundance of variety and their custard is high quality. Their waffle cones are amazing! I am not a waffle cone person but it came in the blackberry jackhammer we got and it was heavenly! I highly recommend this place if you are in need of some delicious ice cream. I've been wanting to try this place out ever since they started to build it.. never thought the opening day would come lol.. if you choose to order from the drive Thru they have the menu but u have to order what you want at the window.. if the line starts to get long somebody will come out to take ur order (the same way in and out along with Dutch bros does it).. I ordered the triple chocolate one and it's pretty good.. they also have a loyalty card you can get to build up points.. I will be defin coming back to try out their other flavors.. read more

First time ever having custard and wow it was delicious. I liked their set up they have a huge menu that's by the outside (only) seating area. Which had water misters going especially being in az it is much needed. You can also see inside where they are making your delicious treats and on one side you can see the custard coming out from the machine which was pretty neat to see. The sizes are pretty big and me and my friend shared a medium which was plenty for the both of us. I can't even imagine being able to try everything on their menu, because they have a huge and tasty selection. read more

Some friends took us here a few months ago, we have since been back a few times. Especially when we go to IKEA. This place is delish, my husband loves it so much we drive all the way from Cave Creek to get it. I was so excited to try this place. Now not so much. I am hoping it was just first time opening and they need to get things better. So I hope to rewrite the review. SO for now I am not impressed. I had high hopes. I am not a midwesterner who are the connoisseur of frozen custard, but I do know what good frozen custard should be like. I was not even taken back by outside seating. In Las Cruces this is typical of Caliches, you eat outside not matter how hot or cold it is. I did not like the way it came out like soft serve. I know it is hot here, but there was something wrong. It was not rich tasting. It was not good. None of the flavors stood out or blended well together. I am not too picky, but this just not good. This place is ridiculous, I would give zero stars if possible. The fact that we live in a desert and reach triple digit weather and have to PAY for water is insane. I will never bring my family here again. The fact my kids had to be turned down for water is ridiculous. Terrible service unfortunately. I work doordash & drove through the drive thru to pick up an order here. When I got to the window, the African American manager told me I had to pick it up from inside. I asked, very politely, if I could get it through the window this one time. He very rudely told me no & to read my instructions next time. It was an uncalled for attitude, but I said nothing more & pulled around. When I walked up to the pick up spot, he immediately told me he would ban me from the location. I told him I wasn't being rude at all, I just asked if he could give me the order once through the drive thru. (I had sat in the drive tru for 5 minutes on accident already, could've had some understanding). Before we could talk about it like adults, he slammed the window in my face & told me I'm forever banned from picking up orders there again. It was as if any words I said immediately enraged him. I'm upset because I legitimately was trying to be nice & was having an exceptional day up until that point. I've driven past Andy's for so long and finally felt the urge to indulge on a hot day. The line was short and the menu was extensive! I chose the concrete flavor of the day: Key Lime Pie. YUmmmmm! I love the tart flavor of the key limes and custard is so much thicker and creamier than traditional ice cream, the pie crust crumbles were perfection. My husband ordered a small banana chocolate shake so it was simple and fail-proof. I admire the old-fashion architecture of Andy's but the prices are so 2024! Almost $12 spent on a small concrete and small shake. Ouch! The customer service was friendly and fast, you order at the window so don't try to talk into the menu boards in the drive-thru. (guilty!) Around the mid-late 1980's a frozen custard shop opened across the street from my house. I had never tried frozen custard before and when I finally did, I liked it way better than the soft serve ice cream and frozen yogurt everyone else sold. Unfortunately that place wasn't in business very long. It was many years before I got to try it again, from various mom-and-pop shops to chains such as Culver's. I just wasn't impressed by any of them. My wife's family lives in the Tempe/Chandler area (and we live in the Peoria/Glendale area) so I wasn't aware of Andy's, but my brother-in-law suggested we try it as he had been there and really liked it. For the first time in three decades I had frozen custard that was the quality I remember when I was younger. I've tried various sundaes including making my own and the ones I prefer have vanilla custard with Oreo's, chocolate chips and pecans. They might seem to be a bit pricy for the amount you get but that's a bit deceiving because a small is more than enough for me to feel satisfied. Get a larger one and you can share it with your significant other. If you pile on the toppings you'll be adding calories and you really don't want to think about that when you're having desert (frozen custard has a higher fat content than ice cream and frozen yogurt). I only make it here once every couple of months so it's always a treat to come here; I do wish at times there was one closer to where I live but that's probably a good thing because I'd probably be going here a couple of times a week. Unfortunately this is just a walk-up window/drive-thru so you either stand to eat or sit on a couple of benches outside. In the summer it can get really hot, especially in the early evening when the Sun is coming from the west. There are misters that help a bit but really it doesn't take too long to finish off your treat. read more

I've been enjoying Andy's since they first opened in Ahwatukee. This is a must try in Ahwatukee! When Andy's first opened, I lived just a few blocks away. Now I live in North Scottsdale and make the trek to meet my frozen custard needs. My go to is the Rico Suave. It is a vanilla frozen custard with pecans and Oreos mixed in, and a hot fudge center! I get a small, which is by far from small! The service is fast and they have the option of a drive through or walk up. The only downside is they do not have an inside seating option. If you elect to enjoy your dessert there, you will have to sit outside. But sitting in 120 degree heat is worth their tasty treat! read more

There's not much that can go wrong at a frozen custard place so luckily *knock on wood* all my experiences so far have all been great. There's a Dairy Queen across the street, but honestly, we always come here because their stuff just tastes more fresh and is a lot smoother. We used to live right up the street when Andy's first opened so coming here wasn't too much of a hassle or drive, but now we live further, in Tempe but whenever we are in the mood for a cool treat, the family gets in the car and we make the drive here because no other place tastes as good. My ultimate favorite is unfortunately a seasonal one, the pumpkin pie concrete, which every year I look forward to and gain about 5lbs in custard weight and the other 30 from other holiday treats. Haven't tried anything I didnt like *knock on wood* yet. read more

They ended up getting the order wrong and when we tried to fix it we heard them yell "what the fuck else do they want." If I could give NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. We ordered at least five concretes and the customer service was AWFUL. First off the Mexican girl taking our order wasn't marking down what we ordered and called it out by memory and she made a mistake and when we pointed it out she was not nice about it AT ALL. Then another worker (taller black guy wearing a black hat) audibly yelled out VERY LOUD "what the fuck else are they gonna order" so loud all the people in the car could hear. The custard itself was truly amazing. Cold, creamy and smooth *and* perfect for an evening treat. I had a traditional small vanilla cone, hubs had peanut butter cup mixed in with vanilla. Both were delightful BUT I'm a bit taken back that there is no indoor seating and in Arizona where it is ridiculously hot, your custard can melt faster than you can lick/eat it. I'd definitely like to come back and have the turtle treat but I'm sure it'll wait until seasons change.
