I lived in Thailand and upon returning searched high and low for a good, authentic Thai restaurant. There was only one place I could find, but it is far and expensive. Tonight we tried this little gem and score! Food was so good, fresh and authentic, and prices are reasonable. Owners are so nice and really making an effort to succeed. Fabulous! Every aspect of our dinner was fabulous! Our server, Jerry was friendly and knowledgeable. We learned his wife owns the restaurant, and we were fortunate to meet her. Our party of 4 ordered Tom Kha Gai soup, it was delicious. As was our Chicken Satay. The 4 of us shared 3 entrees ... Drunken Noodles, Vegetable Delight, and Green Curry. Every dish was spectacular. We came here because they serve fish cakes, even though they do not offer a lunch special. The fish cakes were small and thin, but tasty. The rest of the meal was a big disappointment. The pad thai was more like a fish sauce based noodle soup with a side of peanuts and bean sprouts. I got it with tofu and paid extra for veggies. The veggies were mere slivers of carrots and thin bits of broccoli, hardly worth the extra $$. We will not be back. read more

I'm so happy that another Thai restaurant went in to this space again. New ownership, very nice people and local. The food is fantastic. We tried a lot of different dishes The garlic edamame is really good as are the Thai chicken wings for appetizers. Their Pad Thai is delicious and the Massaman Curry is to die for, except I would have liked a little more side rice with it since the portions are very big. I'm a soup person as well and the Coconut Soup, I had it with tofue, is very good and the portion that I got will last for several meals. I like that they give you quite a vast array of protein choices for all of the meals. We ordered take out and they pack it very well for no spillage, which is key when transporting soup. Hosted my friend to lunch for her birthday. She ordered Chicken Pad Thai/medium heat, and I ordered the Veggie Delight w/Chicken-no heat. I also ordered Spicy Basil Beef-medium heat, and Chicken Ginger Delight-no heat as carryout for my husband and I for dinner. Both my friend and I agreed the food was very good, flavorful, generous portions, and great presentation (I wish I had pics!). I love that it's a mom-pop business. The husband is serving and the wife is cooking. He admitted he was new to serving and he was the sole server during the lunch rush, but was always polite. I encourage anyone to give it a try. We had high hopes due to the high star rating but it was a very disappointing experience. The crab puffs were cold, which seems like a pretty hard item to mess up. My husband's entree came out 10 minutes before mine, and when mine arrived the server let me know that they might have messed up the spice level (I ordered no spice) but if it was wrong they would remake it. After one bite I could tell that it was too spicy, but the server disappeared for 10 minutes so I couldn't flag anyone down. When she finally came back she took it back but then it took another 20 minutes for my corrected entree to come back out, so my husband was totally done with his meal before I could begin eating. Once I finished we waited another 20 minutes for the check (which we only got after asking the manager) even though only 2 other tables were occupied by the time we left. The food was mediocre at best and the restaurant was not very clean. We will not return and will be going to Thai House on Shea or Thai Coconut instead. read more

I chose not to order anything the other night when my husband decided to try Angel Thai Bistro for take-out. When we tasted the dish, we were both in shock.....soooo good! Well I have new low for Thai food. Thought I'd try this place as rated well. Hope my meal was fluke. I use yellow curry as a barometer of food and this place missed the mark by a mile. Tucked away in a little strip mall next to a Starbucks found an absolutely delightful Thai restaurant. Nothing fancy but just absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Had both the Panang curry and the Pad Thai. Nicely spiced to order and served hot. Spoke to the chef and her husband and was very impressed. Worst Massaman Curry ever.... Very strange flavor. I have ordered this dish almost exclusively for many years. So disappointed.

I love Thai food, so I always look for a place when traveling. I decided to try Angel Thai Bistro because their photos looked appealing, and they didn't disappoint. I decided to do take-out, and my food was ready very quickly. It was still warm when I got back to my hotel room also. I got enough for dinner and a couple lunches during the week: Pineapple Fried Rice, Yellow Curry with chicken, Crab Puffs and Egg rolls. I can eat really hot food, but I ordered both with medium heat, so I didn't sacrifice the flavor. The Yellow Curry was really hot - a surprise for medium heat - but the Pineapple Fried Rice was less so. I missed a little flavor in the fried rice and the shrimp tail shells are still on (so eat carefully), but I really enjoyed it. The Yellow Curry was very good. I will just have to do it in spurts due to how hot it was. This is a new restaurant that clearly has thought things through and knows what they are doing. They will get even better with time. I was grateful that a GOOD thai restaurant has moved into our corner. The sweet basil dish was wonderful, veggies cooked to perfection, pork a bit overdone, sauce kept me keep nibbling. I thought for the price there would be a bigger portion, even if just more veggies. And I suggest that you change to go container to a sealed plastic or wax box. The styrafoam just spilled the sauce all into the bag. Service was fast and friendly, even talked to chef to cIarify which dish to order. I will be back. read more

Angel Thai Bistro is the newest restaurant in our neighborhood (Paradise Valley/Northeast Phoenix). Two friends and I went for lunch on Friday -- the restaurant has only been open for a week -- and we were greeted heartily by the "server" (i.e. the husband of the owner - a retired Phoenix police officer). What nice people! His Thai wife and her mother do all the authentic Thai recipes on the menu, so you're getting the "real deal" when you dine there. We tried several menu items including 2 appetizers (the Potstickers which were amazing with the sweet chili garlic sauce and the Satay with peanut sauce). My two friends had the Pad Thai with chicken, and I had the Thai Fried Rice with Pork. They offer Noodles section; Curries and Main Dishes. They also offer Specialty Dishes. Prices are very reasonable given that the price of food has gone up. Since they have torn down the old Paradise Valley Mall, the Thai restaurant that was there is gone, so this new Angel Thai Bistro is a welcomed addition to the restaurant scene in our neighborhood for those of us who love Thai food!
