Great local hang. Like the old school whiskey bar feel. Whisky sampler is fun, also the vodka tonic and Pino Noir very good. Bartenders are super friendly and good poor. Table service w smash burgers, wings, and avacado toast is yummy. Like to sit in leather chairs in front window peeking out open windows. Lots of outside tables. Local hang. Panama joes next door is just too crazy and this is much quieter and has all the Big TVs w sports but not crazy loud. Great happy hour. Regular hang go-to bar for us.

Definitely one the BEST Happy Hours on 2nd Street! Food, drink, and service. Heavenly Burger (Smash Burger) for $5.55! Bites are amazing! Brussel Sprouts, Fries and Tater Tots. House Margarita for $9. Old Fashions for $12. Truly great deals and high quality! We loved our drinks. Margaritas were perfect and you can tell not made from an acidic mix! House made! Old Fashions made just right! Our Bartender/Server was Ryan. So friendly and helpful. Our friend wanted a seasonal drink they offered last Spring and he did his best to reprise it! We love their comfy booths and atmosphere! Every visit has been a great experience. We went a few times when they were serving Tomahawk Steaks! Some of the best ones we have had! We will be back!

Decent whiskey bar with okay food. We went for Happy Hour which is from 3-6 pm daily. I had the $6 whiskey shots, which were decent. We tried the Goat Cheese Balls and Onion rings. Our bartender Rachel was friendly and helpful. Decor is simple but decent with comfortable seats. They offer a decent membership program with 2 free tastings every month and 1 bottle of whiskey. I am thinking of joining. Overall it's a decent bar with a new concept and a worthwhile addition to 2nd St.

    The best whiskey.

Rachel is amazing. If you want an alchemist to make you some magic, come here! The energy is great, conversations, helpful deciding on drink choices. Overall, so hlad we stbled upon this place on 2nd St. Customer service is the best!!! All vibes.

Lynn and Laurel would not stop talking about Angel's Share, and the FOMO was real!!! So I grabbed my boyfriend and rushed over to check out their Christmas theme and cocktails. We had a reservation but arrived a little early and asked the hostess if we could just sit at the bar instead. She said no problem at all. We came in around 6:30pm, which might be an odd sweet-spot time, because we were able to snag a couple of bar seats right away! The entire place is fully decked out for the holidays, super cozy, festive, and so cute. They're currently running a special holiday cocktail menu, so we ordered from that. Rachel was behind the bar and took great care of us despite how busy it was. I started with a Classic Old Fashioned and followed it up with a Smoked Old Fashioned both great choices. My boyfriend also ordered the Old Fashioned and Making Christmas, and I have to say, his drink was actually really good! Angel's Share is small and gets very busy, so I highly recommend making a reservation. If you're planning to eat here, just know the food menu is limited and food can take a while. We had already eaten and came mainly for drinks, but my boyfriend ordered onion rings to snack on. I tried them, but they were falling apart and not really my thing. For me, Angel's Share is perfect for a festive, post-dinner cocktail or a quick drink with friends but not necessarily a spot I'd choose to dine at. Great atmosphere, fun seasonal cocktails, and definitely worth a visit during the holidays.

Wow, I definitely thought I left my review for Angel's Share and JUST realized I didn't. I visited in December when they had all the cute holiday decor. My friend and I actually stopped here after a pretty Long Beach walk/walk in the area and conveniently arrived during happy hour. The waiter was incredibly kind (sad I forgot her name!) and attentive, and of course during this time of year, the lights and decorations were super inviting and fun. We enjoyed a couple of their seasonal cocktails based on the waiter's recommendations and enjoyed both. The food was decent. We did not like the Mac and cheese, but the burger, while simple, was great! Visiting was outside of our plans that day, but we were happy spontaneity lead us there.

I revisited Angel's Share during the Christmas pop-up, and the vibes inside were super cute and festive! The cocktail napkins were themed, and the holiday drinks had cute Christmas tree and gingerbread man toothpicks to tie everything together. The server who took care of my group gave good drink recommendations and checked in on us regularly to refill our water cups, which was nice. As for the food, one of the highlights were the brussels sprouts, which were perfectly crispy and balsamic glazed up. I ordered the patty melt sandwich, which initially arrived at my table without the caramelized onions advertised on the menu. I just let my server know and she took it back to the kitchen to add the caramelized onion. It tasted MUCH better with the caramelized onions included. My friend ordered the heavenly burger for $5.55 during happy hour, which is a great deal. She enjoyed the burger, however upon picking it up, the bottom burger bun split in half, which was inconvenient to eat. Overall the food was tasty, just some minor hiccups listed above. Our group enjoyed our experience at Angel's Share.

TL;DR: We were overcharged by a lot. Make sure you get an itemized bill and don't trust the total that the credit card machine shows you. After my first attempt to visit Angel's Share went poorly, management reached out and invited me to give them another try. I appreciate when restaurants take constructive feedback seriously so I got a group of friends together and went back on a weekday afternoon to check out their special holiday decor/menu. We arrived at 3 pm and the restaurant wasn't opened. We ended up waiting 30 minutes past opening time before the restaurant finally opened. The bartender/server (there was only one scheduled) explained there had been a personal issue which caused the delay. Things happen, no worries, we sat down and were excited to order. They have a small space and most of the seating is curved booths or bar seating, so they aren't really equipped to handle groups. Our group of six just about fit in one of the curved booths very cozily. I wouldn't recommend trying to visit with a larger group. The place filled up pretty quickly and it was obvious they were understaffed. It took a long time for the one bartender, who was also the only server, to get around to all of the tables to take orders and even longer to make drinks. This wasn't her fault, management should have hired more staff, especially while they were in the middle of the busy holiday season. The kitchen also appeared to be staffed by one person who was both cooking and bringing out the finished dishes. Our drinks, when we got them, were good. They have those big square ice cubes and even stamp them with their logo, which was a fun touch. Some of our food orders came out wrong the first time, and the kitchen person argued with us a little at first when we mentioned it, then later came back with the corrected items and acquiesced that we had been right about the orders. Even with the late opening, slow service, and wrong food I'd have given this visit a generous four stars, but multiple people in my party were overcharged, so I've dropped it down to two stars. Happy hour items weren't rung up at happy hour prices, and because we were a group of six (although we had separate bills) a gratuity was automatically added to each bill. The gratuity would have been fine if anyone had told us. However, since Angel's Share uses those electronic payment machines, we only saw our total, we never received an itemized bill so four of the six of us paid the wrong price for HH items PLUS tipped on top of a bill that already included gratuity. I an one other person stuck around after most of the party left and so were the last people to check out. When it came my turn to pay, the total seemed high so I asked out server and that's when she realized the HH price mix-up and told us that gratuity was included in the total. She fixed the issue for our two bills, but did not offer to do anything for the people who had already paid and left. After two disappointing experiences, I won't be back.

An overlooked restaurant/ bar off 2nd street. If you enjoy whisky, Angel's Share has plenty of whisky cocktails, flights & straight whisky to sit and enjoy. Their Heavenly burger is a good quality burger that surpasses many bar like burgers. Simply because it's made with fresh ingredients and not greasy at all. Staff are friendly and provide excellent service!

Food: 5/5 Mussels, drinks, appetizers were delicious. Drinks were pretty strong and good. Old fashion was awesome, espresso martini was made well! Service: 5/5 Staff was quick and inviting. Great team. Ambience: 3/5 Interior is great, outdoor seating is interesting. Ground had a slight slope but overall worked well.

This place is very cute and definitely worth trying. We came on a Saturday afternoon, not very busy. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive. They greeted us and sat us down immediately. I think our servers name was Billy and he was great. We only ate appetizers but what we ate was delicious. The cauliflower was cooked very well. The Goat cheese balls were very good, and paired perfectly with the apple and honey that came with it. Fries were also great. We got wings which were alright but honestly my least favorite of the night. The drinks here are a very good, a lot of whiskey of course but they have other speciality drinks that are vodka, gin, tequila based. Drinks came out pretty fast and tasted very well made. The restaurant is on the smaller end, but the decorations are cute and pretty. They have a small seating area outside in the front as well. Parking could be difficult, just street parking is available.

I came here with family to celebrate our annual Christmas white elephant gift exchange. The food was good. I ordered the house salad with bacon and shared the mussels with my sister. Those mussels with the sourdough bread paired so well and was prepared perfectly. My sister also ordered the snowman cocktail which I took sips from and it was strong but still good. Our server and staff were kind and friendly enough to take our picture. The establishment was decorated with holiday vibes and we sat outside since the booths inside were a little small to accommodate 6 of us. We parked on the street and made reservations so we were seated right away. Come check this place out for a bite to eat and a refreshing beverage.

Drinks Only- We were looking for a cocktail bar after lunch, so we decided to grab a drink at Angel's Share. As we entered the bar on a Saturday afternoon, we were offered a coupon for a free cocktail- bonus, although later found out that it was to be used for the next visit, but the bar honored the coupon. The bar has a lengthy bar along one side that you can curl up. Otherwise, there are some seats and table among the other side. Plus, there is seating outside for nice days. We sat at the bar- and all of us felt better seating was needed as the cushions were shot- we all sunk into our seat cushions. The bar is known for their large assortments of Whiskeys. The cocktail menu had some interesting drinks on the list as well. We ordered four different cocktails among us, we were satisfied with our drinks but not overly impressed that we wanted another drink.

Definitely worth it! The vibes are unmatched. It's a unique blend of "top notch cocktail crafting" and "beer and a hot pretzel after work." You can dress up, you can dress down, it's very 'just be yourself' which I love. I've literally had caviar AND hot dogs there in the same night at an event. They know how to blend high/low. Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. (Also really good N/A cocktails!) The menu is super inventive and creative! And the cocktail menu changes out every so often so there are new things to try. This area is vintage vibes and Baby Gee speaks it fluently. Really cool decor, curated by the owners who design everything from the playlist to the cocktails to the invention of never-before-seen flavors and shapes of jello shots. Try the Baby Gee appletini while you're there. Mezcal, tequila, sake appletini you ask?? Yes. Trust. And get a hot dog. Do it.

It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

Here you can actually taste the ingredients they describe and somehow work really well together. And it's not just one or two drinks that feel unique and interesting it's basically their whole menu. Most recent time we went was when they had a guest bartender (Polo Chang). Some of the best cocktails I've had recently. I'm a huge fan of tea in cocktail his menu was amazing. We got way more drinks than we usually do that night because each one was better than the last. Only thing tho I really wish they kept their old menu. The drawings were beautiful and it had so much character while very easily communicating how each drink will look and taste. It went so well with the overall vibe of the place. But I may just be nitpicking because I have hard time reading the new dark menu in the dim light lolol I honestly would come here wayyyy more often if it wasn't for the very limited parking. I was able to make a late dinner reservation for Saturday night about a week prior - reservations are definitely encouraged, as the bar was full the entire time we were there. Gaining access to the speakeasy was actually not that difficult, just ring the doorbell of the ornate floral door, beneath the lone lantern in the alley behind El Barrio Cantina. Parking though was a nightmare. I only realized when paying the bill that the two establishments are one and the same, and I could have very likely parked in the designated spots for El Barrio customers. The whole bar is a mood - lighting is dim and you don't get to see much beyond your table, which is good for those seeking privacy. One thing to note is that because the dining space is so small and intimate, it does get quite loud. The appetizers we tried were all good, with izakaya flare as promised. The charred edamame was extremely addicting, smothered in garlic soy and just the right amount of spicy from chili arbor. The Okonomi corn dog was a clever spin on okonomiyaki, bonito flakes and all. Finally, both the Yuzu and Wagyu rolls were fresh and perfect size bites of their respective fishes. I wish I could have sampled their entire cocktail menu! All the drinks sounded novel and unique, and featured their specially cut crystal clear ice. My Yuzu Strawberry blended the smokiness of the mezcal with the tangy sweetness from yuzu and strawberry perfectly. And the Peated Highball I ordered as my nightcap has to be my new favorite drink, adding a boldness to the Japanese cocktail staple. Only reason I took a star off my review was the abrupt service. Our waitress was not subtle about needing our table for the next reservation, asking to clear our plates when there was still food on it, and closing our check early to the point that the bartender had to come and charge us again for our last drink. Despite that, still strongly suggest checking out Tokyo Noir. Long Beach sadly doesn't have many speakeasies, but the ones that are here are at the top of their game.

The decor definitely reminded me of my grandparents' house in Taiwan, with vintage, ornate wooden chairs, dragon/lion statue carvings, and even a historic century old marital bed that had been repurposed into a booth. The drinks were also VERY unique, with my favorite being Hua sheng (literally meaning peanut), which was crafted from a nostalgic childhood peanut milk drink. All our cocktails were crafted very well, to the point where I thought they were a bit on the lighter side since I couldn't really taste the alcohol. This section does get really busy though and only had one bartender who is making/serving drinks and taking orders, so do expect a bit of a wait. Overall, highly recommend checking out this vibey vintage Taiwanese-inspired speakeasy (that my inner history nerd was so excited about), and I'll definitely be back to try their food items as well as their two other bar/restaurant concepts!

As for the food, it was pretty mid and took a long time to come out. The popcorn chicken especially disappointed me since it didn't taste like Taiwanese popcorn chicken at all. It was more like chicken nuggets?? Overall, I wouldn't recommend coming here for the food. The bathroom was also a bit dirty. Drinks: * Hua Sheng (3/5): Nutty aftertaste, but the alcohol flavor was pretty strong. * Salty Plums (4/5): My favorite out of everything we ordered, super refreshing. * Jasmine Milk Tea Coma (3/5): My second favorite, but I wish the strawberry flavor came through more.

What I really appreciate is that sometimes it's even kid-friendly, which makes it a great option if you're not just going out solo or with friends. I've been coming around since back when it was Iguana Kelly's, and it's been cool to see how the place has evolved while still keeping that local, neighborhood feel. The location is super easy to find, right next to a donut shop and a mechanic, and across the street you've got a 7-Eleven, Subway, and a few other small spots. Plus, Tommy's Burgers and an Arco are right nearby, so everything you might need is within reach. I tried both the cucumber mixed drink and the mango mixed drink, both were really good, but I personally preferred the cucumber one. It's less sweet and way more refreshing, especially if you're not into overly sugary drinks. We also had a BBQ chicken pizza that they cook in a fire oven (I think it's called a wood-fired pizza), and it was really good, definitely worth trying if you go. Service was good During the outdoor event, they had things set up really well, including a sign that read "21 and over beyond this point only," which helped keep things organized. They also had jumpers outside for the little ones to enjoy, along with tables and chairs so everyone could hang out comfortably. Parking can be a bit tight in their lot, but there's always street parking if you take a minute to read the signs. Overall, it's a great hangout spot with a welcoming atmosphere and something happening more often than not. Definitely worth checking out.

Unfortunately we found a fruit fly frozen into our ice, which I figure can happen at busy places like this. Many indoor spots to chill bar-side, seated at a table, or lounging on a couch as well as a nice shaded outdoor space. Enough screens for everyone at any angle to enjoy the game. Though we had to re-locate from the side room due to maintenance services going on that were a bit dusty and loud. All things considered, I'd come back to give it another try because it seems like a really solid spot otherwise, and we may have caught it on an off day.

The vibe was perfect...great energy with plenty of room to dance. The cocktails were excellent, and the bartenders, Jose and Jocelyn, were incredibly attentive and helped make the night even better. Honestly, every staff member we interacted with, from the promoter to the security guard, was fantastic and contributed to such a fun welcoming atmosphere. The decor was such a fun surprise...tons of palm trees and inflatables made it feel like you were in a tropical getaway rather than just a pizza restaurant. They also had a photo booth, which added another fun touch to the night. We took a ton of pictures in it. We really appreciated the gender-neutral bathrooms and the overall safe, inclusive environment that made our whole group feel comfortable drinking, dancing, and celebrating. Parking can be rough, but as a Long Beach native I already knew that, so we chose to Uber.. We'll absolutely be making the trip back from North Orange County to visit again!

We arrived and there were a few parties leaving, we walked to the bar area and the two servers were occupied with other guests, so we patiently waited. Finally one of them approached us and shared the menu, another gentleman came to the bar and he was quickly greeted with a hello and our same server immediately shared the menu. The gentleman politely said, these ladies were here first please take their order first, which the server did but was not so happy about. To our surprise the server still prepared his drinks first. The gentleman very surprised apologized since he knew we were there before him. With our drinks in hand we found a table with some empty seats. The table side where we sat had a sprite glass bottle and a glass that hadn't been picked up since the last party left. We moved it a side to set our drinks and finally enjoy our conversation. A different server came to the table and asked the gentleman next to us to get his empty glass and she completely ignored our side. She did another round and I finally asked her to pick up the bottle that was left by another party before us. I asked her for the menu again, she brought it but she did say that I had go back up to the bar to order any additional drinks. We decided to not order a second round and head up to the terrace.

For starters, we got the Parker House Rolls, which comes with truffle butter, local citrus honey, and grana padano cheese. These rolls were so fluffy and flavorful. We also ordered the hummus, which was so rich and creamy, and the oysters from the raw bar. For the main, we ordered the Smoked & Glazed Pork Chop, Fish & Chips, and the Wedge salad to share. And let me tell you, that everything was so good. The Smoked & Glazed Pork Chop came with a whole show, where staff would bring out the dish in a smoke-infused glass dome and open the dome when presented on the table so we can smell and see all the smoke. Not only was it beautiful to look at, but it tasted just as beautifully. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the rainbow swiss chard, cheddar grits, candied pecans, and avocado honey helped balance out all the juiciness from the meat. They use haddock fillet for the Fish & Chips, which was fried to perfection. The Wedge Salad is what actually knocked my socks off! This was one of the best wedge salads that I've ever had. It had your key ingredients: iceberg, buttermilk dressing, red onion, crumbled egg, tomato, bacon gastrique, blue cheese, dill, chives - but something about this salad was different! It was so refreshing, flavorful--just everything you want in a dish. We ended the dining experience with their Peach Cobbler Hand Pie, which came with streusel, pistachio crumble, salted caramel, and vanilla ice cream. Can't wait to go back when I'm in the area!

My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and received AMAZING service from the bartenders Bailey and Randy. Both gentlemen were extremely knowledgeable about tequila and took the time to understand our preferences, pick a cocktail off the menu for us and then explain each cocktail in great detail. Give these guys a visit and I promise you'll be in a good hands! Cocktails/food we tried and I highly recommend: "Hasta el cielo" - The cantalope in this drink is so insanely refreshing, especially right now in this summer heat! "Paloma Blanca" - You'll be disappointed with every single Paloma after experiencing the Paloma Blanca. They mastered their in house clarified grapefruit soda. "Moda Chicali" - My spirit of choice is gin and it's hard to find a cocktail that isn't cucumber and mint. Viaje nailed it with this one!! It's a perfect balance of light and sweet. It almost has a lychee taste to it, even though that's not an ingredient! "Pelon Divino" - If you enjoyed eating pulparindo as a kid, then you'll love this cocktail. I'm not usually a fan of mezcal, but the smokiness is so smooth and almost needed to balance out the tamarindo. Probably the first time I've truly enjoyed a mezcal in my cocktail! "Taco de Pork Belly" - INSANELY GOOD. Pork belly was so crispy and juicy. The pico de gallo was perfect. And the handmade in house blue corn tortillas were DELICIOUS. "Taco de Camaron" - Also delicious. Shrimp was juicy and seasoned well. "Carnitas" - This was recommended to us by the staff and it did not disappoint. The meat fell off the bone and was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The black beans were also soooo flavorful and the perfect texture. This dish was enough food for two people to share if you started your evening with appetizers. Viaje is the perfect place for a solo meal, date night or meeting up with some friends for dinner. I will 100% be back and will be telling everyone I know about this restaurant. Keep it up Viaje!

The staff was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. We knew it wasn't a traditional Mexican restaurant, which was perfectly fine, but unfortunately the food just didn't deliver. The ceviche was served in what tasted like a cold tomato soup, garnished with microgreens, cilantro, and other greens. Great presentations but the flavors just didn't work for us. The carnitas were the biggest disappointment. They were served more like barbecue ribs and were very tough. They definitely weren't the tender, flavorful carnitas we were expecting to enjoy with tortillas. The chips were good, and management stopped by to check on us, which was appreciated. I really wish the food had matched the level of service and atmosphere. We didn't want to chance it with dessert so we skipped dessert and after dinner drinks.
