This place is so fun! Despite what is happening around us and covid-19 hurting restaurants. My husband and I decided to go out and try this place a couple days ago. There wasn't a lot of tables but we were seated in a timely manner. Our server was Anika she was so sweet and helped us pick out what to eat and explained the menu thoroughly to us. She was patient and checked up on us and she made sure our drinks were always filled especially because my husband got a heat 5, be careful of those heat levels everyone lol. Most of the servers checked up on us at least once which was nice and the food was DELICIOUS, hot and fresh. The coleslaw not so great but all in all I cant wait to go back and try more and see the server again. read more

NO CURBSIDE SERVICE. My wife and I love The Angry Crab Shack and were looking forward to another amazing snow crab dinner. Because of COVID, we only order takeout that does curbside pickup. I placed my order, referenced my vehicle type, arrived and called them to let them know where I was parked. They proceeded to tell me that I was required to pickup my order inside the restaurant. Food was great as usual. First time at this location & I was a bit hesitant after reading the reviews. Service was ok. Nothing great, just bare minimum. Drinks took a while to get & we weren't offered any lemon or lime on the side & s&p ramekins like you get at the other location. What got me the most was we're told "food is staggered & you all won't get your entrees @ the same time" what?!?!? That is the most uncomfortable, unsettling thing ever. Sitting there starving but can't eat cuz the person next to u doesn't have their food, or just b rude & dive in!! Terrible terrible policy, should be reconsidered. First time visiting this location and it was fabulous. Mercedes was our waitress and she was very friendly and attentive. My niece had a root beer, she truly wished it was a Dr Pepper and I had a Bloody Mary that was very flavorful. The crab legs were absolutely amazing!!!!! We had a group and when we asked how long the wait would be we where told they didn't know and there seemed to be no real hostess and different waiters where doing this job making it impossible to get wait updates. When we finely got the table and received our food the grab legs where dry and didn't taste right and after getting it remade the replacement was even worse. Today I called and ordered a very expensive order from this establishment. The to-go order was placed with Amber and the lack of courtesy was disgusting. Not only did she interrupt me during my order asking questions that are made for after the order, but she placed the order WRONG. After picking up my food and the attitude I received again from Amber during pickup, I called to just express my frustration. Amber then tried to tell me I didn't give her the correct order and that I did not clarify it several times to her, again inturupting me. I never use my yelp to write bad reviews, usually to glorify amazing service, but this needed to be stated. We dine at Angry Crab Shack often, but this was our first time at the Bell Rd location. The food was great, especially loved the hushpuppies and gator nuggets! Given the current situation with COVID-19 I was especially impressed to see they were taking the temperature of each customer, and all staff wore masks. Been coming here regularly, every time me and my wife come the staff is attentive friendly and knowledgable, they work together to keep customers happy. I've worked in restaurants a long time and I can tell you this place has put quality, consistency and customer service first, and it's like this everytime you go. Very heavy on the butter and light on the seasoning, which is unlike traditional cajun food. The crawfish and crab were also very subpar. Anna is a wonderful server. She is energetic and attentive to your needs. As we had not been there before, she explained the menu in detail. My partner ordered a cod basket. For a place that serves mostly fish, you would expect that the cod would be exceptional. Well...it certainly was not. The cod itself was mushy and the coating fell off when you tried to cut into it. I was not a fan of the coleslaw either. It was dry and had no flavor. Anna mentioned that they had tried a wrap with the fried shrimp. I think you should offer this as a healthy alternative to the po boy which has a lot of bread in relation to the shrimp. All in all, I would go back because of Anna but not necessarily because of the food. read more

We have been waiting weeks to celebrate my Son's HS graduation, this was the only place he wanted to go. When we were seated we noticed it was a bit warm, and became more and more uncomfortable the longer we were there. We had a very kind server, named Priscilla who explained the AC was broken and it could not be turned down. All the employees were so apologetic and I could see they too were quite uncomfortable. Several in our party were unable to even eat it was unbearable and we took most of our food as doggy bags. It will be quite some time until we return to a business that in the heat we experience here in Phoenix did not maintain there cooling system immediately, if not for the sake of their customers, but especially the employees that had to endure this for an extended period. We went here to celebrate a 61st birthday and it was the worst decision we made. When we got there a couple of our guests were already seated, we know some places are still not opening to full capacity but this place took it to a whole new level. It was like walking into a dungeon. That should of been one of our first red flags along with the poster board signs hanging all over. Looked like my 2 year old made them. Our server came to our table and was anything but kind, respectful, and energetic. She seemed incredibly annoyed to be working and serving us. When she came to take our dinner order we asked her to start at the other end as some of us weren't as ready. She looked at us and said it's easier for me if I start here. Never knew thats how service worked. We rolled with it. We ordered more drinks and she huffed and puffed and shook her head as she delivered everything. Once our food was delivered the manager came over to ask how everything was. I began to explain to him our issues with service and that the potatoes were as hard as rocks. He didn't apologize nor offer to replace our potatoes. He just said thanks for telling me and walked away. Our server send 2 other servers over to our table after our dinner was served and we never saw here again besides from afar. In addition to the worst service I have had the bathrooms were worse than the middle of nowhere gas stations that never get cleaned. My 4 yr old commented about the fecal matter all over the toilets, it looked like animal droppings in one of the stalls and the sinks were piled with dirt and hair and just disgusting. I did let the manager know about this as well. We spent $290 and walked out with the most disappointment I've had at a restaurant in years. What do you do if you bite into a fried item that's warm to the touch and easy to handle but shoots super hot oil into your mouth burning your tongue, gums, & lips to point where you're in terrible pain and your taste buds are numb? Then the manager says "yeah they're hot, they fry at a high temperature is" and that's literally it, nothing else. This is unbelievable. Please if you value your safety & your families well being do not come here. Edit : By the time we were done with our dinner I had blisters on the roof of my mouth & bottom gum. The manager Wes didn't seem to care about my injury at all. There was no compensation on the bill no information given, nothing. I had to ask our server for the general managers information. The manager mentioned before Wes refused to provide his last name so I didn't get Hoodwinked later while trying to contact anyone above him. Overall a poor experience. Decided to try angry crab shack for the first time since they opened a location by me. I had heard good things about this place. First off, it took almost 15 minutes for someone to come over and grab our drink order. Then another almost 10 minutes for the waitress to come over to introduce herself. Since it was our first time in we asked about the menu and she ran through the menu very fast. I ordered a bag boil with shrimp corn and sausage. My kids ordered fried shrimp and a peel and eat shrimp cocktail. Two orders came out but the peel and eat shrimp never came out. I had to track down a manager and ask about it and it still took another 5-10 minutes. When he came back to the table I was given every excuse in the book of why the service was so bad. Waitress was triple sat, they just opened two weeks ago and kitchen isn't up to speed yet. After almost 1 hour we finally got all of our food. I never go into a restaurant expecting something for free but after the horrible experience I didn't think a $10 discount was appropriate I do not think we will be back any time soon. read more

I love going to Angry Crab and have frequented many of their locations here in Arizona. I was SO pumped when a location opened so close to our house! When we arrived we were seated right away, I was very surprised as we normally have to wait at least 10 minutes when we go to other locations. This location is big but I will note there are no booth tables, at least that I saw. Our server was nice but she was alittle bit awkward. When we ordered our food she didn't ask my husband if her wanted crispy or grilled shrimp on his Po'boy and by the time her realized it was too late to let her know he wanted grilled. I ordered the snow crab and seasonal vegetables with garlic and mild spice . When I got my crab it was much more intense than just the mild that to have ordered several times in the past at other locations. It was to the point that my lips were burning, and I had could not eat all my vegetables. The crab serving size was as to be expected and was good enough to eat but I could tell the crab was old. All in all it was an average visit, I know they are new so I intend on giving them another shot before we strictly make the drive to the Norterra location. read more

We had heard about this restaurant for years from friends. When the one on Bell & 32nd St opened, we found that we finally had to try it (it's close to home). We were there mid-March 2020 and loved it! Our server could not have been nicer. She spent time explaining the menu and kidded around with us. We both ordered the fish and chips and were amazed at how delicious it was. We should have ordered one and shared because the serving was more than enough for two. I also had the clam chowder. Ohhhhh, yummmmm! As soon as it's safe to start eating inside restaurants again (I'm staying safe at home for a while yet), Angry Crab will be one of the first places we go for dinner. read more
