If i could give less than one star I would. The crab was old and terrible tasting. There was a child in a car seat that was the child from the bartender just chilling in the bar area awaiting her ex to pick the kid up. Then they argued over the bar about when the kid was to be dropped back off there. This is something that is done at home and not at the workplace. The manager didn't care and said that it's s family establishment. I'm sorry but this is a huge legal liability. Then sanitizer was dripped off the hands of bartender on my food and I said something, the other bartender said who cares its sanitizer. The entire experience was terrible. I have no problem spending a ton of money on good food but at the end of the day, the crab here was just terrible! read more

This new location seems to be adapting well. The seasoning is spot on, the food quality is very good, and the service is top notch. We went there for Father's Day to compare this to the other locations we have been to. I ordered the snow crab, tri-fecta ghost. This is garlic, lemon pepper, Cajun with ghost pepper heat. I had them add sausage and a piece of corn on the cob for a couple extra bucks. It did not disappoint!!! The appetizers were charred oysters, hush puppies, and calimari. Again, all three did not let us down. My drink of the day was a Cajun Bloody Mary extra spicy of course. It came with a topping of three olives, slice of lime, and a small crab leg with Cajun rim garnish. It seemed like there was no alcohol so I asked them to add another shot. They informed me that the alcohol was " infused" but they added a shot anyways. After a brief stir, BAM!!!! They kicked it up a notch. All in all, we will be back! If your in the neighborhood, or feel the urge for a road trip, I recommend you give it a try. Oh, and my brother recommends the "yuge" catfish filet basket. read more

Not impressed. Our waiter was a nice guy but wasn't having the best night. To be fair, this place is LOUD and he missed a few items and when he read back the order I did, too. The atmosphere is "country style" with butcher paper covering the tables and your food boiled (poured into) in sous vide plastic bags that are then brought to you in buckets. Because it's seafood and you're in a landlocked state you will pay premium prices so let's not delude ourselves otherwise. This will not be a cheap dinner. Oh, and should you do a birthday here expect sound effects and a song from the staff which makes an already loud place louder. We started out with raw oysters...they were fine - reasonably "fresh." For the main course I had their trifecta sauce with clams and corn and my companion had the trifecta with crab legs. The sauce is butter based but not terribly impressive, in fact, it smothers, rather than complements, the taste of the seafood. And a serving of bread to sop up the sauce was $2 (really?). I'm in no hurry to return because the philosophy seems to be to smother the star ingredients in a "boil" rather than let them speak for themselves. I'd just as soon do a pot of steamers, corn, and potatoes at home (with more beer) if I want to blow nearly $100. If I do come back I'll try a po' boy rather than overdose on Cajun style spices and butter. Meh. read more

Went on memorial day 2019 and had the worst service. Food was greasy and awful. Waitress was rude. Food arrived 30 minutes after order was taken. I only received a portion of my meal. Sides were missing. Just to get the attention of anyone was hard. I just ended up eating what I could, paid the bill. I will not be returning to this location again. read more

I love the food at Angry Crab but this location has yet to work out all of the kinks. When ordering spice levels for shrimp boils, the spice level you get varies from day to day. This location is not yet as consistent as the more established ones. read more

I want to preface this with saying that I was a server/busser at restaurants for 9 years moved on to another line of work when covid started. So I know how it is to work in a restaurant. I have literally never felt an inclination to leave a bad review anywhere even if I had bad service because I get that it's tough sometimes. Anyways, I attempted to call this angry crab on bell and 32nd st about 4 times at first at around 7:40pm( they close at 9pm). They didn't answer at all. I just figured it was busy it happens. I started to drive there after picking up my girlfriend so we could order in person. They didn't answer at all. By the time I got there it was 8:30pm. I go to the hostess stand and place an order for pick up. As she's taking my order an older couple walks in asking if they can sit for a drink. She says the bar is closed. They ask if they can sit and have one she said yes but we close in 15 minutes so you have to be fast. All in a very unpleasant way. I worked for years in this industry and treating guests like that is just a no go no matter when you're closing. She basically is rude enough to the point they say forget about it and leave. I don't want to assume but I'm pretty sure they didn't answer my phone calls because they just didn't feel like it. I ordered and got my food pretty quick. Was escorted out but also asked to make sure my rice and linguine were there in the bag they said yes. I get home and of course theres no rice or linguine in there. I don't really care about that, it happens at every restaurant and wasn't expensive but it's just a cherry on top to what my experience there was. I've eaten at angry crab before but this newer location is not one I'll ever be visiting again even though it's next to my house. I get you can be having rough day but you're in the service industry you should be polite to your guests and always answer the phone. It's kind of a rule of thumb at a restaurant. read more

I'm a big fan of Angry Crab, and usually go to the location on Indian School. Stopped by this location for the first time last night. Arrived at 8:37 p.m., and were told that they close at 9:00 p.m., and we were too late for food. Both Yelp and the Angry Crab website list the hours as 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Thursday night. I pointed that out to the host, and he wasn't interested in passing the message along to whoever could correct the information. So heads up - they close at 9:00, not 10:00. My boyfriend, bestfriend, and I have gone to this location twice before and have loved our server Arsun and the hostess who got in the shark costume name Homer. Not to mention his awesome accent during another tables birthday celebration. Service is fast, food is great, and the employees are even better. Shout out to one of the bus boys who got me a "crab repellent" (cup cover) to keep crab from flinging into my water. We love this place and it will probably be our go to Angry Crab Shack. read more

I ordered a meal to go exactly the same as the one in the restaurant, Shrimp boil, level 1. The meal I brought home was at least a level 3, so hot I couldn't eat it. When I called to get a refund or another meal, the restaurant refused to do anything. Spice level is non-refundable. Apparently even if you don't get what you ordered. Don't eat here. I can't rave enough about the food and service!! The lobster crostini is something to be dealt with!! So delicious! Then the king crab is oh my! I have seen price complaints however who has checked the grocery store price point? TheCrab has very little mark-up on the seafood and lobsters. I also MUST mention the staff. The team is great. Almost everyone's meal was perfect but mine,however, after less than pleasant response from most staff here comes CHRIS the GM, who not only prepared my food perfectly but he showed concern for how I felt. It wasn't busy yet we waited quite a while to be noticed and then seated. At a dirty table! The food was flavorful and pretty good but came out at different times! I was almost done by the time my daughters food arrived. Now comes the waiting and waiting. Waited for our check. Waited and waited for them to take my debit card. Waited even longer after that because their computer system was down. I finally flagged down another server, ours was not around at all, and asked if I could just pay cash. She took my cash and gave me the change. Still don't know where our server was and why we weren't told of this computer issue as we waited unhappily. No apologies. No manager? I also thought that 30.00 for lunch with no drinks was on the high side. Not sure I'll go to this location again but I might try the Happy Valley location while the Bell Road location works the bugs out. read more

Fifth visit to this location in 3 months. Bartender was great, got a signature drink. Ordered a pound of king crab. Something during the meal felt "off". I didn't finish the crab, took one leg home. Fast forward to 3 hours later and as I sit my body is rejecting the meal I just ate. I hope this is just the diarhea type food poisoning instead of the barf your brains out type food poisoning. First, the staff was polite and attentive and it was 5PM happy hour. Food came fast and almost to hot to eat. Unfortunately appetizers and main course basically all came at once. We had two beverages, two appetizers, two soups and two main courses. Over $70! The clam strips are not clams, as I am originally from the coast and I know clam strips. I don't know what they are using to imitate, but it is not clam! The calamari is also not calamari! I have no idea what they are using as it is 80% breading, but it is NOT calamari! Unless it is Calamari past rolled in dough. Fried Calamari is tentacles, not a dough sausage 1/4" x 2". On both of these appetizers you get like 6 medium sized pieces each. That's a joke for an appetizer to most people for what they charged! Next the is the soup. The Gumbo was maybe half dozen micro shrimp in cornstarch overthickened broth. No sausage or anything else I could delineate. Just way to many spices that overwhelm ones taste buds. The clam chowder was nothing but flower, water, clam juice and potato's. Not ONE clam! I have had clam chowder the world over and this was a total farce. Last was the entrées. The clams we ordered one pound for $14 and got maybe 8 in a plastic bag with some juice. Half were not opened, so you do not eat them as you know. Waste of money! The second entrée was muscles. We orders one pound and it was served the same as the clams. They were just fine and as they should be taste wise. The beverages... well how can you screw-up draft beer.. It was fine. My suggestion, don't waste your time or money. Go to The Yard House or elsewhere for such food and beverage. Much less expensive and you actually get dinnerware instead of plastic deli cups, paper towels and plastic bags to eat out of and off of. We did complain to the server and hostess, but it all fell on deaf ears, as we never were introduced to the manager. read more

We have tried the other location of angry crab and loved it. We have tried multiple crab places like the boiling pots and the boiling crab etc in other cities. This by far has the least flavor. The juice in the shrimp bag is mainly butter where normally this would be more of a Cajun sauce that you can dip your crab or shrimp back in. Every time you go the heat level varies. You can get a 4 one day that tastes like a 2 and a 3 one day that burns your mouth off. This makes it challenging to gauge your heat level since it's a moving target. When you order fries or other fried food they NEVER come with your meal so you eat them all as your appetizer because the service is so slow! Thus bringing another very important topic to mind- service. So if you enter you likely wont be greeted by a hostess because no one is up there. I guess no one gets assigned to seat people because you wait for like 6 minutes until you flag someone down yourself to help you get seated. Then they say take a seat anywhere and then you sit at your table for another 10 minutes before you flag someone down to take your drinks. Better order at the same time you get your drinks because if not you'll be there forever. Honestly, the wait staff was horrific. We have tried this place several times at dinner and lunch and it was terrible. Slow, they forget things, they don't know what tables are theirs etc. This place just opened so we've given them several chances but the management seems very new and the wait staff needs a serious re training. Such a bummer because we were so excited to have this place open up near us :( hope this helps them identity some key areas to work in. We spent over $50 to eat here for 2 people so we just felt we were ripped of. For the prices of a lb of shrimp you'd expect better service. Very disappointed and would recommend only going if you want a good laugh. read more
