would not recommend the Tucson location! went to try it out for lunch today and was so disappointed. Friends ordered the lobster roll to share with sweet potato fries, it came out with regular fries and asked waitress for an extra basket or plate....never came or silverware. They ate off of paper towels. For mine the waitress took my order to the wrong table which was passed around before it was set down on there table. My friend told the waitress that it was our order not there's. After several minutes she went back to the table and picked it up and placed it in front of me. I said excuse me but I want a new order as I don't know if the large party that it was delivered to had eaten off it. I was horrified that any server would do that! read more

Just got back and am angry - no pun intended. Food was fine and service was pretty good. So what's the problem? I am afraid my complaint belies my age. My wife's entree came and the rest of us, three people, expected the other entrees would arrive shortly. At least least five minutes - if not longer - two other entrees arrive. I ask the delivery person (not our waiter of course), why the wait and where's the last entrée. I was told, and subsequently confirmed by the manager, that food comes out haphazardly as it's ready. And - our waiter should have told us that's how it's done. I, as you can tell by now, am dumbfounded. The manager gives me some cock-and-bull story about separate stations in the kitchen and delivery when a dish is ready - regardless if the table is or is not served together. This isn't the first eating establishment, I am reluctant to say restaurant, I've experienced this issue. None have been quite as straight forward about it though. Well maybe some of the sushi places. Again my age: the sign of a good restaurant is the ability of the kitchen and waiter to time and work together so a table is served all at once or with an extremely short wait between dishes being brought. The table wants to eat together - not have people finishing while others are in mid-meal or just being served. It's laziness on the part of management, corporate and kitchen, to operate in this manner. I worked in a restaurant where this approach wouldn't be thought of, let alone tolerated or practiced as SOP. Anyone can put food up in the window when they've finished their preparation. The tough part is the coordination so the table is served together and everyone eats at the same time. I give the manager credit for coming over and addressing the issue, and offering us complementary desserts. I know it's not her fault - it's the fault of the owners who allow this type of policy. It's also the fault of my fellow diners who put up with this and believe it's normal. Speak up, complain when only one dish is brought and ask where the others are, say you won't be back. Don't be lemmings for bad kitchen policies. Am I right or just an old crank? read more

We went there a couple of days after the Grand Opening. We cannot stop raving about this place. Food was hot, and absolutely delicious. The server we had (Kim) was over-the-top courteous, knowledgable and personable. We could not have asked for better food or service. We will definitely be returning many more times, in the future! Let me start by saying my wife and I love the food, we have been 3 times and each time we've gone we've been happy when the food arrived. However, expect a wait. Every time we've gone in a hosts or server hasn't even acknowledged our presence in the restaurant for at least 20 minutes. Once being seated, typically takes a while for the server to come (I recommend ordering multiple drinks). And then the food typically takes over a hour. The reason for 2 star review is because the restaurant never has more than 4 tables sat and still has outrages wait times. More importantly, the reason for the 2 stars is because I've seen the owners response to all these reviews and it seems all they do is make "excuses" for the restaurant and make it seem like it's the consumers fault. A little bit of business advice from a fellow business owner... take responsibility and make a change. Service is a tough industry, but if you are going to charge a high price for the food you serve, make your guest feel acknowledged. read more

My fiance and I went there for our anniversary on a Friday recently and it was hands down the best crab I've had in years! They were a little busy but Daniel and Laura (Lauren?) remained attentive and made sure that we were happy throughout the entire service. Everything was so flavorful, tender, and quite honestly perfectly cooked. Well, where do I start. I would like to give the ranch some credit, as this is the best ranch in Tucson. However, I have a family member who worked here. Due to confidentiality, I can not say who. However, when I ordered the wings with a Trifecta 4, the wings were over-cooked. Just for my family member to inform us that the fries and hush-puppies, which we also ordered, are frozen. The fish comes frozen, and basically, nothing is fresh. The portions aren't worth the price one bit. As wings were over. The fries didn't taste well. They claim that the clam chowder is New England clam chowder, even though it is Boston clam chowder. Basically, nothing is fresh here, so, if you want to eat here, then you are basically eating at an overpriced Red Lobster. read more

We went here on a Friday evening. As with any place these days, you need to be patient. It was a long wait for beverages but the waitstaff was short. We had the calamari to start. It was delicious. Cut different had seen before. Not too chewy. My daughter ate a dozen class, she loved them, obviously. We all had the seafood bag for 2. It had everything we loved and it was fantastic. We are new to the Tucson area and this was our first time visiting this restaurant. We went with a group of 18 people for a fun night out with friends. The service was great, as well as the food. Getting everybody's food out at the same time was a bit slow, but considering we had a very large group, it was kind of expected. $300 for 3 people to eat? That is just insane. We ordered the family feast a round of drinks and an pathetic appetizer. I will never go back and I will tell everybody not to either. The food was awful and Joe's Crab Shack could make up a better and more flavorful bucket for a fraction of the cost. The restaurant was a mess. The idea is that you eat with your hands, a meat tenderizer and a few dirty scissors to help cut and crack the shells. The meat was oily, with no flavor and we're told the trifecta was the best. I bet it was. The shellfish had been steamed and the slopped in a 4 cups of cooking oil "butter" with at least 2 rounded cups of spices muddled at the bottom of the serving bowl. The appetizer was choice of three, and we order the hush puppies were cooked on the outside and doughy on the inside. The popcorn shrimp and the chicken wings. For the price paid I would liked to see All the appetizers. Go anywhere else, especially for that price. Oh and never order the Mystery Drink, ever! read more

I got hired before the restaurant opened. After a few training shifts I showed up to my first shift while the restaurant was open. 5 minutes in, I left feeling awful and tested positive that night. The wife of the owner who is in charge of schedules and payroll told me I could return to work after testing negative. Well, when I reached out with evidence I was testing negative and ready to work, she told me there was no room for me on the schedule. Pretty funny. The part that wasn't too comical was I never got paid for the 3 training shifts I did attend. I reached out to the wife, again, with her response consisting of telling me it shows on their end that I did get paid. It wasn't worth arguing, I already knew how poorly and unprofessionally ran this place is. After speaking to a couple of current employees, they described some unfortunate situations that are the "norm" there. Kinda grateful I never returned! read more

Caution - Rough night at sea. This was my third visit to this location and each visit has gotten a little worse and tonight's visit was BAD. I was greeted by the "angry" hostess. I know it is very hard to get employees currently, but you might as well as have a seat yourself rather than have your guests greeted by this young lady in her mood tonight. It might have been a one off night. The manager should be running the hostess stand if the employee is presenting a "I hate the customers and do not want to be here attitude." The next problem is with the ice tea. On my second visit, I had a wonderful time with receiving repeatedly sweet tea instead of the unsweet tea I ordered. We are talking 4 glasses of sweet tea was delivered to my table. Finally, after trying to communicate to the server that there must be sweet tea in the back marked unsweet tea container, he caught on and tasted the product he was delivering to my table. Same thing this evening, fortunately it was only one glass. But still, maybe we need to look at a better system of marking or separating the sweet tea container from the unsweet tea container. I tried to order the fish and chips. Ah, but they are out of Cod. (That is like McDonalds being out of french fries.) Lastly, I ordered the Jambalaya. My bowl was filled with about 1 1/2 cups of rice, covered with a 1/8 cup of gumbo soup/sauce. There was a light cover of the gumbo soup over the rice perfectly hiding the fact the bowl was mostly only rice. It did have four nice sized shrimp, but very little sausage, a piece or two and a couple of pieces of what I hope was chicken. So what I got was four pieces of shrimp and slight gravy rice for $12.00. (Working that profit margin.) The final note was my table. The table wobbled like a ship in heavy seas. I was able to spin the table where the table stopped rocking at my seat. As the hostess was walking by I asked who the manager was that was in charge tonight, she told me a name. I then mentioned this to the hostess about the table and I received the answer, all the tables here rock. (Awesome) I guess with the tables they are trying to convince the customers of the freshness of the seafood by the sea legs rocking tables. The two stars is for my server who tried his best to make my visit acceptable for his part. read more

We tried Angry Crab shack for the 1st time tonight & it was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! We came around 8:40 thinking we'd have plenty of time to eat since they close at 11pm & we'd also miss the dinner rush. It was all downhill after we were sat down. No sodas because the carbonation was out. Our hush puppies arrived to the table 1st, which were alright. My husbands lobster rolls which were super small serving for the $28 price tag. Then our second appetizer finally arrived long after my husband was done with his meal. Last but not least I finally received my meal close to 10pm. I had the jambalaya & after waiting nearly an hour it was also very disappointing. The rice seemed under cooked I only found two 1/4 pieces of sausage a few shreds of chicken. The only decent part was was the 4 pieces of grilled shrimp. I only took a few bites & I took the rest to go. I was truly over it at this point. Our waitress was good, but I doubt we will take a chance on a second visit after our experience & then reading some of the other reviews that were very similar to our own experience.
