Choice of 3 Dip Mezze
George C.

Great vegan restaurant with amazing food, flavors were 100/10 the mushroom kebab was grilled to perfection, and the different mezze dips really stole the show, we had the ful medames, hummus masabacha and muhammara they were all delicious! Our weaver Charlie was super friendly and gave us good recommendations and was very attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is upscale and modern we went during dinner time and it was a bit louder than expected and the side tables and be a little tight but otherwise it was amazing experience highly recommend!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

beef kabob

The food here left me in awe and I genuinely believe what they've done here is a culinary and scientific achievement due to how realistically meaty everything tastes. I want to be in the kitchen and see how they're creating all these dishes because I'm truly amazed. My friends and I started with the fire roasted eggplant and whipped ricotta dip and they were both delicious. The eggplant dip was sweet and flavorful and I loved the sourness of the lemon. I'm not big on cheese but the more I ate the whipped ricotta, the more I liked it. It had a bit of a crab dip flavor that I actually enjoyed and I really liked the jammy sweetness from the apricot. 4/5 Other mezzes that we tried were the crispy lamb cigars (similar to ground beef and wasn't a crowd favorite, 3.5/5) and the preserved lemon cured tuna (bright, refreshing, and yummy with a seafood flavor that actually didn't gross me out since I'm not a fan of seafood, and I loved the crunch from the pita chips, 4.5/5). We ordered two kabobs--the steak and the merguez. The steak kabobs literally looked and tasted like real steak that had been cooked medium rare. It was incredibly tender and made my jaw drop, 4.5. The merguez (lamb) was really meaty and seasoned well and I loved the spiciness. I preferred the merguez over the steak kabob, 4.5/5. The only entree we tried was the beef mnazaleh which tasted pretty similar to the kabob, just in a different dish. The rice was creamy, moist, juicy, and flavorful, but since we had the kabob first, I wish we had tried a different entree just for variety sake. 3.5/5 Some sides we got were the confit potatoes (yummy with a nice crisp on the outside, but nothing that special) and grilled asparagus (had a slight bitter smokiness that you get from grilling, but I wished it also had the bright sourness if they used lemon). Lastly, we also tried two desserts. The medjool date cake was chocolatey, rich, and cakey, but I wish it was more date focused. I think I would've enjoyed it more if the flavors of fig and dates were utilized more, 3/5. The ekmek kataifi was very cream cheese forward which took me by surprise and I didn't appreciate at first. But the more I ate it the more I enjoyed it. I really liked the crispiness from the phyllo layers and the subtle sweetness of the dessert, 3.75/5. Would definitely come back and try more things from the menu!

Was visiting friends & family in Oct 2024, and my friend found this spot on TikTok knowing I'm vegan. We made reservations and were taken back to a table as soon as we arrived. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is incredible with the decor and the lighting from the bar all the way to the back of the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was fantastic from the moment we sat down. We told her this was our first time and she took the time to explain the chain of restaurants which also helped me find other vegan spots to check out down the line. Me and my two friends all ordered drinks: Off the coast, Anixi Sunset, and Thyme for Strawberries. I am not a big drinker and I usually find drinks too strong, but the Off the Coast was incredible--light and refreshing! We ordered the 3 Dip Mezzes (Hummus Masabacha, Whipped Ricotta, and the Taramasalata). All were good, but the Whipped Ricotta was my absolute favorite! We got the Beef Dolmas, and two other dishes no longer on the menu. All I know is that all three of us devoured all of the food, and I am the only vegan. So if my two carnivore friends could enjoy it, you know it's good! What I do know is that if you are getting dessert, you ABSOLUTELY have to get the Ekmek Kataifi. OMG this was DIVINE!! The flaky layers and cream just melt in your mouth and the toppings just compliment each bite perfectly. We also ordered the Medjool Date Cake and this was also so rich and delicious. I love figs and dates and adding rich dark chocolate to the mix was just heaven! I will definitely come back the next time I am vising the City.

Wow, Anixi truly revolutionized our perception of plant-based dining, especially vegan cuisine! We were astounded by the bold flavors, diverse offerings, high-quality ingredients, and upscale presentation. Anixi certainly left even the most devoted meat-lovers like us in awe! Our server, Stella, was incredibly helpful! She noticed our inexperience with vegan foods and patiently explained everything to us. She even helped us select a couple of dishes from each section to explore without overordering. We couldn't resist praising every dish and repeatedly commenting on the incredible taste of the non-meat options! Lastly, Anixi is also a chain establishment but it didn't disappoint us! We will definitely try other brands under the same group.

It's beautiful place . And food is good. Can't believe it's all vegan. But they are. Very relaxing place.

Food was creative and had so many options! As a meat lover, I did not feel that I needed meat to complete this meal. But the service was what made me lower this review. The service was not great...our waiter had an ego thinking they're all high and mighty because they're a vegan restaurant. She also gave a lot of attitude when my friend got her wine spilled by one of the workers who was cleaning and questioned us as if we were lying. She was very combative the entire shift when my friend mentioned she was not a fan of the drink, but that is simply just her opinion? Not coming back because of the waiter. As for the food, Some dishes were better than others, the dips and bread were all phenomenal. The crispy lamb cigars were a bit dry but still had flavor. For the kebabs, the chicken one was my favorite as the steak one had a weird aftertaste.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Food was great, had cute little side convos with the guest around and the manager so the vibe was good[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] until my waitress came with a nasty attitude! She was literally rolling her eyes as I asked about certain dishes. Next time I go, I will be requesting to be helped by someone else, this actually happend months ago and it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth considering everything else was great!

Dined at Anixi with my best friend last night. It's in Chelsea, Manhattan NYC, vegan and kosher Mediterranean restaurant. Had the waitress pick the courses for us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the ambiance, service to the food, everything was perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only thing I would do different is order a less rich dessert. Too sweet for my tastes. Manti lamb pockets, beet and citrus salad, wild mushroom kabob, pita, hummus masabacha, medjool date cake.

Ricotta and Spinach Borek Rolls

Oh. My. Gosh. 10/10 Recommend Anixi! The food was amazing. Get the pita, it's a must. It seemed like it was fresh from the oven. The dip, I swiped up every last dollop. YUM. The roll was delicious. I didn't get much flavor in it, but it was delicious. The cheese was also quite melty, kind of like how it would be on a pizza. I was expecting something more spreadable as it was a ricotta, but it was still good! The pistachio ice cream was wonderful. I know figs aren't in season, but we were hoping for more than a sliver of a tiny fig, or even a substitute for a more in season fruit. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous. Candle lit with impressive walls and furniture. Our server was kind and happy. When her other large party table was taking up more of her time, other staff stepped in to help cover my table. My favorite item(s) has to be the dip and the pita.

Grilled Chicken Kabob (GF)
Mariam K.

Came here for an anniversary dinner with my fiancé and it was so lovely! The inside of the restaurant is absolutely stunning. Also, blown away with how amazing everything is while being vegan too! Great menu! Started with the whipped ricotta and layered bread. The ricotta had a sweet hint to it. Whatever sauce it was in was paired beautifully. I think it was best with that sauce. And got the beef dolmas which were REALLY good! Then got the grilled chicken kabob & the beef mnzaleh. Honestly both were so so good and blew us away. The beef mnzaleh in particular had the most rich flavor ever, and was to die for. Really really great dish! Same with the grilled chicken shish kabob! Didn't get any deserts but it was such a great experience with amazing food. Definitely recommend!

Chicken Fatteh

Food is amazing and the service was amazing the first time I went. The second time, complete 180. I reached out via resy because of a terrible experience due to Narina's horrendous service but I never heard back. I was hoping for something from management to make me feel more confident in their establishment. If you find out your server is Narina ask for a different one. Also the management staff didn't help in the moment. They actually laughed at me. As you can tell from my review before, I planned on being a lifelong customer. Not anymore after my experience. So unfortunate.

Bar

A great vegan spot which gorgeous seating and a lot of great options. We had such a hard time picking what we wanted but thankfully we had a family style brunch so we got to try a lot of different items. The frittata was excellent and was probably our favorite dish of the meal. It came with 2 dips (tahini and hummus) and flatbread. We also got 3 other dips - all three of them were flavorful. We got the garlic glazed pull apart bread - WOW. The bread is so good and I highly recommend it. We got the pistachio cheesecake as the dessert. It's so beautifully plated but also tastes just as good. It felt like a combination of a baklava and cheesecake and I loved the different textures.

Kebabs
Dipali G.

I enjoyed the food here! I was skeptical of a vegan spot but this place was great! I do think the apps are way better than the entrees and kebabs Food: we ordered the three dips (ricotta, Fire Roasted Eggplant and Hummus Masabacha). I enjoyed the ricotta and the eggplant but didn't love the hummus! The layered herb bread is honestly the way to go here! The Chicken Gyro Rolls, Beef Dolmas, Manti Lamb Pockets, and Crispy Lamb Cigars were all so delicious! I wish I got more of the chicken gyro rolls. From an entree perspective: the Khachapuri, Grilled Chicken, Wild Mushroom, and Grilled Steak were all kind of mediocre! I would only get the grilled chicken again! I got the pistachio baklava cheesecake and it was SO delicious- I would definitely order this again Price: very expensive! We offered 5 apps and 4 entrees for 4 people and ate it all! The apps were all priced as an entree and the portion sizes for all the apps and entrees were small Ambience: I love how beautiful the restaurant is! It is large and gorgeous! Service: great service!

First thing you'll notice upon entry is how absolutely decorated it is. If you're a fan of Witcher, it's like walking into an an old-timey tavern. If you have no idea then-- it's like an old-timey tavern. I wouldn't be surprised of they had bard Fridays and homemade mead. It's also a big space. Reminds me of one of the last remnants of the bygone era that was the Obama-era glow. Like peak millenial where restaurants were starting to get viral but not to the point where they have to hyper compete with a gimmicky dish. The prices are a bit steep and was making me consider dropping my rating down a star but fuggit, I like their food. I played it safe and got the mixed grill meats but that's because I lack reading comprehension and thought the main dish (I don't know what it's called, it's just the 1st entree listed) was a baked meat pie situation, it was more grilled steak on a bed of mash potatoes but these mash potatoes were savory like gravy. I wish I got my friend's dish. The mixed grilled meats were a lot closer to doners or skewer meat. Different cuts but also different flavors. What they had in common was a sort of spice-forward sizzling taste. My friend got two appetizers (which I also don't know the name of) but were definitely the most beautifully presented foods I've had in a long while. They were both creams but one had a pepper in it (not the spicy kind). The pepper one was a light refreshing sourness and the other was a heavier but not heeeeavy savory one. Both great to dip your bread in. I wanted to try the lemon cookie for dessert but my friend got us all Tres Leches by accident. That was great but I would say the most non-novel out of everything we got. Delicious, just not something out of the norm-- which is what I go for when I'm trying a new cuisine like Albanian. I wouldn't say this is normal day-to-day Albanian (I have a few friends), it's more like the Americana equivalent, an upscale where Albanians go out to eat.

It was a little hard to hear and converse at times as it gets crowded, but the food was delicious and there are really unique items on the menu. Food: The duck shawarma was one of our favorites! The lamb and scallops were also flavorful and tender. The dips were delicious with the pita, but I wish the serving size for the dips were bigger. The fries were great - well seasoned! Also recommend the milky pudding, it was a nice refreshing way to end the dinner. There were 7 of us The seating was cozy but not cramped. We started with 7 family style small dishes: Hummus with Falafel Pops (chickpea purée, tahini, falafel, olive oil), Spring Burrata (roasted cherry tomatoes, toast, basil oil), Hamachi Crudo (passionfruit vinaigrette, citrus zest, cucumber, mint, sesame tuile), Scallops (carrot puree, serrano pepper, brown butter sauce), Tenderloin Skewer (zaatar chimichurri, fresh herb salad), and Shiitake Stuffed Grape Leaves (tomato coulis, yogurt foam, herbs). Everything was delicious. The hummus was well seasoned the falafel had a nice crunch. It went well with the warm puffy gyro bread that came to the table. The burrata was wasm and creamy. I love the vinaigrette on the fish. I ended up eating most of it. The scallops were the sweetest, most tender ones I have ever had. The tenderloin skewers were tender and well seasoned. I liked the grape leaves but the rice consistency was very soft almost mushy and you can barely tell there were mushrooms. There was barely any mushrooms flavor. Next we all chose an entree. I got the duck breast, my husband and daughter each had the beef tenderloin. The duck breast was smaller than i expected. The skin was nicely seared and very crispy but boy did it give my jaw a workout. It was done medium rare. It was juicy but tough. The small beef tenderloin was tender and smoky. The waiter poured the sauce over the tenderloin for added flavor. Finally dessert was a fruit plate with ice cream and pudding. The fruit was fresh and the flavors of the ice cream and pudding unique. It was a nice end to a good brunch. The price was a little expensive at $85 a person.
