Went here with my friend, and it was great. Although personally I don't like crowded places, but this just proves how good they are. I love strawberry crepes so that's what I got, and I ordered another thing I forgot, but it was good too. The waiter was friendly and really nice. Although she forgot my whip cream, but she asked if I needed anything and went back to get it for me. This used to be our go to place for pancakes and salads for years. Unfortunately since the new owners came in there is now video gaming and the fireplace has been removed, it no longer has that nice cozy feel it had for so long. Even more important the food is not what it used to be. read more

We went here for a Father's Day family breakfast. We made a reservation as there were 10 of us and they cramped us into a table in a side room when there was a bigger table in the main room. The server was very good, very attentive. Quickly got us drinks and coffee and gave us the perfect amount of time to look over the sizable menu. We made our order and waited a very short time (for a party of 10) for the food to come out. Eight of us got our order on the first wave from the server. Everyone liked what they had. It was the last two that were a disaster. We both had omelettes and neither was cooked all the way through. How do you serve someone a ham and cheese omelette where you can clearly see the cheese wasn't even melted and the eggs were creating a puddle from not being cooked? I cut into mine and was repulsed to the point of I was off food for the rest of the day. Add in that the toast I was served had no color what so ever. It could have just been stale for all I knew. While they tried to offer me another item, I didn't bother. They did take it off the bill, but they made no apologies and basically said "Oh well". I won't be going back. read more

My wife and I came here for breakfast one morning as we just moved down the street and it looked like a nice little pancake house. When we entered, we were immediatly greeted by a hostess and asked to wait a moment for seating. Although there were dozens of open booths, they had to scramble to find one for us. The waitress came and took our order and although she was very nice, she seemed to be in a hurry, which is confusing to me seeing as how there were only 2 other tables filled. We waited a decent amount of time for a seemingly simple order, and as we did we watched couples that came in and ordered after us get there food first. Apparently this place is fairly new, but you wouldn't know it. Went on a busy Saturday where our little Baby Buster had a giant meltdown for fun. Staff was completely cool with it. On to the good stuff. If you've been to pancake house in the suburbs, you know the drill. Skillets, pancake specials, etc. Skillet was the size of my head (large) and the kids Mickey Mouse Pancakes were enormous. Good food, gracious staff, and large portions for your buck. Great place with a homey feel. There were so many options on the menu; it was so hard to choose! The sausage biscuits and gravy are delicious. The portions are also very generous. The waitresses seemed very "at-home" and were informal with guests which I actually appreciated, it felt more homey that way. read more

I had brunch here today. I had the Waffle breakfast plater. The eggs were the way I wanted them. The beacon was nice and crisp, and the waffle was nice size. Not bad on the prices. over all a nice dinning experience. The wait staff was very friendly. I would go eat here again. read more

Just walked out due to the customer service. Having never been here before I went to the cashier to put our name in & she ignored me but took care of people coming up after me to pay. I had to ask another customer where to out our name in & when I went to the person he pointed to I was told "no you wait". I am a big breakfast person and I wanted to try this place based on great reviews. Pros: Great egg white omelet and fluffy pancakes Cons: Average/slow service and not the server's fault she was covering ten tables on busy Saturday morning. Server was rushing every time she came to our table. She was like a super woman, taking orders refiling coffee, and bringing orders out. We had to tell her what we needed like hot sauce or ketchup in two tries. If she had just taken 30 seconds to finish our sentence we could of told her everything at once. Please hire more help at least on a weekend. Coffee although hot it was under par, not to mention no fresh cream is just ridiculous. My wife had a skillet with scrambled eggs and it was worse skillet she had to the date. Eggs were dry/ skillet lacked flavor and not to mention potatoes were greasy. We are breakfast people and we just moved to the area. This is the best classic breakfast restaurant! We love the service from all the staff every time we go. French toast is perfect, not mushy, not the neon orange, just perfect. Pancakes are great, we get them every time. My husband loves the skillets and corn beef hash. I usually get a Benedict or omelette... The coffee is always fresh and they keep it coming throughout breakfast! Sunday's they have Greek lemon rice soup that is delicious! Highly recommend for a standard, dependable and consistent breakfast place. We usually go 2-3 times a month with our one year old and they are very accommodating with him! read more

Very unpleasant experience. I had called the owner, Angelo, 10 days ago and asked if we could hold a breakfast meeting in the back room. He agreed, and we invited people. When we arrived, the back room was unavailable. Angelo muttered something about it being a "busy time." Instead, we were seated in the middle of a large room where it was hard to hear. I have eaten at the Red Apple ever since it opened. I am a big fan of their lox and eggs on Saturday. The food is always great, the portions more then expected, the service is outstanding and the employees are very friendly. I also attend the Rotary breakfast meeting on Tuesday morning and the have one of the best buffet breakfasts in the suburbs. I can highly recommend have a meal at this cafe. read more

Hands down, the best place for breakfast in the northwest burbs! I was skeptical to see if Red Apple would be as good as Wildberry, but was very impressed. Everything is fresh and all the ingredients are of great quality. The portions are very large and priced very well. Even my mom, who is a professional chef and pastry chef was impressed. Chicken dumpling soup was good, although would have preferred to see shredded chicken instead of Campbell-esqe mini chicken cubes. Burger had fresh avocado. I've been here twice now and I am gluten free due to allergies. Their gluten free waffles are to die for! I tried the gluten free pancakes and I didn't like them as much as the waffles. I asked my waitress to put strawberry preserves all over my waffles and she got confused. I'm not sure why. I would definitely recommend this place.
