This restaurant is an American brunch style cafe. There is a variety of options on the menu for all tastes. Outside seating has jazz music playing and is more quiet than inside. The service was quite fast for how busy the lunch hours were but still took a while. When waiting they only have small bench's and it was very cramped just sitting with 3 people. We got our drinks within 5 minutes of ordering. The food came within 20 minutes and was delicious!!!!! I got the biscuits and gravy and it came with scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes. The rest of my party loved their food as well. The service was great and all the staff were very kind and helpful!! The restaurant also was very clean and looked taken care of!! Everything was great! We arrived for breakfast and within 5 minutes we were seated. A family of four who ordered four different items from the menu. From savory to sweet everything was delicious and fresh. The coffee wasn't the regular restaurant coffee. Both iced & hot had a medium roast and taste great! So I initially added our names to the waits list around noon and I requested a patio seat since I brought my pup. The waitlist said a 25-35 minute wait but we didn't get seated until 1pm. There were plenty of open patio tables and people constantly leaving the restaurant so I really didn't understand the long wait time. Our waitress was a bit forgetful and from the looks of the other tables around us she may have been a new hire. She told us multiple time that she was going to bring our waters and a bowl of water for my pup which never came. One of the bus boys just so happened to walk by and ask if he could bring her a bowl of water. She eventually brought our waters and the wrong refilled tea. Overall the food was good, not great but good. I got the cold brewed coffee with cream instead of milk and what I thought would be a caramel creamer or flavored syrup but it ended up being a caramel sauce that pretty much clogged up the straw. I also had huevos rancheros which could have come with an extra egg if I'm being honest. My bf got the Mardi Gras omelette with a raspberry tea. Never again came in at 12:30 on a Wednesday and won't be returning burnt pancakes, not filled chocolate chip pancakes just sprinkled on top. No silverware or straws until constantly asking, order incorrect when asked for something else. Took over 10 minutes to get a menu so decided to not get anything. What a better way to start off 2020 than with great food and a great review!! I woke up yesterday to go watch the sunrise and decided to pop into ABE for breakfast. I decided to order the biscuit and gravy with city grits and I was not disappointed!! I am a biscuits and gravy fanatic and this is by far the best I've ever had. The gravy was rich, full of sausage and so flavorful, and can I please take a moment to admire the biscuit that came with it?! It was huge! Soft, flavorful, and made with love. I don't eat eggs so I gave them to my mom and she enjoyed them. The sausage patties that came with the biscuit and gravy were a bit salty but they were really good! The city grits did not disappoint either, they were made with Gouda cheese, diced tomato, and green onion and the flavor was right on point! This will definitely be my go to meal from ABE! read more

ETA: followed request of restaurant after they replied to my review. I did not receive a response. I imagine that was just for appearances sake. Arrived about 9am on a Wednesday morning. Restaurant was not busy. I ordered the Bourbon Bandana Pancakes with eggs and sausage. The pancakes had no bandanas on top. When I asked, was told they are under the pancakes. My initial thought was that consistency is lacking between locations. Upon diving in I realized that the more likely reason was that they skimped on banana count and they were pretty ripe. Those two factors would hurt the presentation. I requested that the pancakes be delayed from the serving of the eggs and sausage, so they wouldn't be as soggy. My request was received but not carried out. Everything arrived together. The Atlantic location was able to accommodate this request. Disappointing. While this location is closer, I don't imagine I will return. read more

It was moderately cool outside so they had the heaters turned on. It was a little too toasty under them. Service was a little slow. Took a while to get our food. Overall, food was okay. Nice name of restaurant,intriguing.Lots of choices with lots of combinations. There was a bit of a wait so being solo I went to take a seat at the bar. Started with a cup of java which came in a cool mug (see pic). I ordered the Bacquezo omelette and a fruit cup as a side which was extra. Nice atmosphere quiet talking, and a clean nicely decorated place. 2 televisons for viewing where I was seated. First bite of the omelette wow! what a combination of flavors. Cream cheese, sausage etc.with a little kick. Fresh fruit. Cloth napkin good touch. Good friendly timely service. Coming back anytime when I am in the area! This location is in a very nice part of town. I used the Yelp system to get us in line before we arrived. We were immediately seated and ordered our drinks. My daughter in law ordered a strawberry mimosa which she said was a little too sweet. My son and I ordered coffee and it was fine. For breakfast my husband ordered a blackstone eggs Benedict. He ordered the city grits which came with cheese, tomatoes and bacon. He needed more cheese! My son ordered the southwest omelette and I ordered the regular eggs Benedict. It is about being deceived about wait times over and over again. Restaurant from (upper leadership perspective) have failed to value customers time by having apps become more and more inaccurate over time and putting store management in a position to make excuses why there apps are incorrect on wait times. Over 4 years the apps and times roughly(ate there that many times on the weekends): NoWait App- Accurate at first, then started to get roughly 20 minutes off. Food wasn't long wait. Yelp App - 1 hour wait before seating and receiving food compared to what Yelp app said. Right before covid about 1 and half hour wait for seating and food compared to app time from Yelp . Post Covid around 1 and half hour wait compared to Yelp app in being seated and served, maybe longer at times. ***As a customer, why do I even half to figure this out to get breakfast, other good and bad reviews tell the same story on this subject. How do us repeat customers know this and upper leadership doesn't???*** FINALLY, the finisher, Broken Eggs, Broken App through there website- It is trash, there is no way to measure how long you wait. The wait is based on who is Checked in at the store. WHEN IN REALITY if someone signed up online before you and then checks in after you, they cut you in line with not being figured into the wait anddd if your next to seat in line and they come, guess what? 10/11 update - the review below was originally posted on Google and TripAdvisor. I have submitted two emails via Another Broken Egg corporate website. No response. The statement on their website "Proud to be voted one of the best restaurants in Jacksonville (2022)" is laughable after our experience today. Walk in on a Friday Oct 6 around 930. Wasn't full but it was busy. We were immediately seated at table by the hostess that seated six which was odd since we were a party of two. Our hostess after sitting us didn't say anything of who would be waiting on us. The table was next to waitress/waiter station so the staff were constantly going by us. Five minutes pass - no word of "we will be with you shortly" or asked if we wanted coffee. By this time, we had decided what we wanted to order so I put our menus aside a sign that we were ready. More staff stops at the waitress/waiter station but doesn't turn around to ask us if we had been helped. Now it's been ten minutes since coming in and I observe a group of three ladies get seated at table for four next to us. Within a minute a waitress coming out of the kitchen says to them "I will be right with you". We had enough and left utterly disappointed. Hopes whoever was managing the wait staff Friday Oct 6 sees this and properly teaches their team to acknowledge all customers. This is my second time eating at this restaurant for breakfast. I normally don't waste food but neither I or my spouse could finish our meals. Beignets were so hard. Poached eggs? More like boiled eggs. My salad arrived with gnats flying around it. The appearance of the servers could use some work. Why would I want someone who looks dirty serving my food? Great breakfast spot~ I was surprised how busy they were on a Monday morning! I have passed on the weekends when the line is out the door and around the building! Luckily we were sat almost right away and happy to order! Hubby ordered the traditional breakfast and added a side of grits on top of the homefries that came with his 2 egg breakfast- he also opted for a biscuit instead of an english muffin. I went all in with biscuits and gravy, with scrambled eggs and homefries! Good comfort food breakfast! Service was fast and friendly- there were plenty of happy customers all around. When there is a long wait for a table and there's a crowd, you know a place is good. A first for me, I used Yelp's live waiting to put our name in before we left my house. We only waited probably a good 15 or so minutes when we got there before we were shown to our table. Lexi was our server and she was wonderful. Brunch was not complete without alcoholic drinks, LOL. We ordered two spiked cold brews and a bloody Mary. I was in the mood for CARBS and sweets so I decided to get the chocolate stuffed Belgian. So good, so decadent, so bad. My family enjoyed their choices as well and we were satisfied with brunch. When we got our plates though, seems like the food slid around on the plates a bit. Not a big deal, but I notice these things. LOL. And the restaurant was pretty cold, the a/c seemed be to on full blast. We were actually looking forward to getting back out into the heat! Have been dying to go to Another Broken Egg for some time now but typically I don't have the patience for the wait. I had family in town from South Florida this weekend though and wanted to treat them so I signed up on the waitlist through Yelp and braced myself. I'll address the wait first: we waited over an hour for our table. We went to Starbucks in the meantime and got coffee; next time I'll probably jump on the waiting list and just stay home for about 30 minutes. We also waited once we got in there a good amount of time for the food to actually come. And our waitress was slammed so we saw her pretty minimally. All that said- best breakfast food I've had in a very long time if not ever! I completely understand why people put up with that wait! We had a pitcher of Bloody Marys to drink. I had the New Orleans omelette with fresh fruit. Fruit was mixed berries instead of the usual melon mix with maybe one strawberry in it, so I was pleased with that. The omelette had shrimp, crawfish, and andouille sausage in it with a tomato hollandaise that I asked for on the side. I also paid the upcharge to add half an order of beignets (4 of them for $2.99 seemed MORE than fair). My cousin and her boyfriend had the breakfast sandwich pictured and pancakes. Everything was super delicious! The one thing I would say is this is not a "brunch" type spot for heavy drinkers. Drinks are pricy and there is no bottomless mimosa option. But if you're just there for a couple of drinks they do have a great drink menu! Not a bad thing when a restaurant doesn't need to advertise "bottomless mimosas" to have an hour+ wait each weekend. But the second time I came I got the crab cake Benedict, and now that's all I order and have been here a few more times since. It's also cool that you can reserve ahead on the yelp app. Problem is, it's hit or miss. Our last visit our server introduced me to the city grits I believe is the name. I ordered it with my crab benni. I don't eat grits but this, I will be ordering every time. From what I recall is grits mixed with Gouda cheese and topped fresh diced tomatoes, bacon, and chives on top. I don't like fresh tomatoes but this, I had to eat! It added a a touch of freshness to the savory Gouda and bacon. Gouda was the perfect amount. It added a touch a savory saltiness but not salty at all. Again I ordered the crab cake Benedict's. The English muffin was pretty basic. But the crab cake was great. Good flavor. I would say 50/50 amount of crab to filler, and it was thin but it was really good and full with flavor. They all add a Cajun-y hollandaise sauce on top that adds a nice touch. The wife ordered crawfish omelet. You get a good amount of eggs. And you get good amount of shrimp and crawfish within the omelet. She enjoyed it. You also have to order their beignets. It's their version. It's biscuit based, I believe fried, and drenched with powdered sugar. It comes with this orange marmalade and honey dipping sauce that makes it even more awesome! read more

Came here with my family last week and we were extremely disappointed. To start, we were brought to a filthy table, littered in syrup. Menus too were covered in syrup. Food took a bit long to receive & we were very underwhelmed with what we had ordered. Throughout the entire meal, we had not been reached out to by our waitress until we had to ask for our check. My main gripe is that if you are charged $15.98 for a breakfast, the portions should be generous. At that price, the bacon should be more than a1/4 strip of bacon (how about one whole slice?) and, please, be a little more generous with the hollandaise, the reason for ordering this. It was there, but in the last six months I had eggs benedict elsewhere that had three to four times the sauce so, you know, I could enjoy it. For the price, it was a small muffin and small eggs. The eggs benedict were warm, not hot, and the grits were piping hot. Apparently I was upcharged about a dollar for the tablespoon sprinkling of shredded packaged cheese on top. My breakfast with coffee and tip was over $25. I suppose this is what you get at a chain restaurant -- extreme portion control. Also, the dining room was like an icebox. Have stopped here twice. First experience was early on a Sunday and service was great, very clean, and food was good. Portions are huge. Nice selection of brunch cocktails. Unfortunately second time we came in was a little later (9 AM) on a Saturday and it was busier.
