I typically eat breakfast at the The Original Pancake House, which like the Another Broken Egg Cafe tends to be fairly expensive compared to iHOP or McDonald's. Therefore, my expectations are fairly high. I ordered a simple breakfast of eggs, bacon, fruit, and toast. The bacon was burnt and of general poor quality - especially compared to the thick slabs of bacon you get at The Original Pancake House. The server didn't provide any butter for the toast when the food was delivered. Otherwise, the server was friendly and did a good job. This was a Saturday morning, and the young hostess that seated me could not have been more disinterested in being at work. Not a problem to want to be in bed early Saturday morning, but at least fake it. read more

I love when on vacation you walk into a restaurant and walk out still talking about the food and service several hours later. Bracus was exceptional and made the experience that much better. Also...I have to... have to have city grits...always! They are a sinful blend of fresh grits (never bagged) blended with gouda cheese with real bacon and a topping of diced tomatoes and a sprinkling of green onion/chives. My stomach is rumbling in impatient anticipation! While I'm waiting for my yummies to arrive let me tell you about the service...ask for Shay! Admittedly I would eat here anyway but its made doubly good by my favorite waitress working here. I literally squealed when I walked in on visit 2 to find her working here! I've eaten here more than enough to know the amazing quality of food and service this place USE to have.. My family and I frequently eat here for breakfast as well as lunch meetings with my buyers/sellers. For the most part we order the same meal each time and as of late, the quality of the food and service has gone into the ground. The last visit was more than enough to scare me away, started daddy & son day off on a bad note. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with ez onions, potatoes and andouille sausage (well done) my son ordered kids chocolate pancakes WITHOUT whip cream, potatoes and fruit. Simple order right? No, the food comes out, my son has whip cream on his pancakes, no big deal yet just swipe it off. My omelet comes and it's a supreme, which shocked me because I know my hearing isn't bad enough to misinterpret ham and cheese for supreme. Both orders of potatoes weren't cooked properly as well as our muffins were taken right out the pack and thrown on the plate, not one sign of toasted in sight. I had a really bad experience here like I never had o e before. I took my boys and myself here for breakfast around 9:30 am the older lady at the entrance was very sweet and greeted us with warmth. But the issue started with our server the moment we sat she is just on top of our head to give her order so I had to request twice to give us time as we were there first time. I requested that this is not what we ordered so she quickly takes pancakes and brings the same one back with whip cream n three pieces of chocolate chips on top and just leaves and goes away. I called her again n asked her about my food as this not what I ordered she takes it back and comes back with waffle topped with beacon. Manager was young and u explained to her to please change my server and get me my food she literally did nothing and then I asked her that we would like to leave as this just not acceptable and manager instead of saying sorry or trying to fix it brought the bill for my older sons toast and my coffee. Everything here was perfect! Brunch is my favorite meal so I love trying new places. I always get some kind of egg scramble with veggies, but always complain that it never has much flavor. I just accepted that this is how it'll be everywhere. Well imagine my surprise when I get the southwest scrambler (swapped the chorizo for chicken) and it is filled with flavor! Even the potatoes had flavor which is also rare. The beignets were also delicious. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles which he also loved.
