I love shopping here! One of the only stores where staff gives you a sincere greeting when you enter the store. They just put out lots of fun new clothes and accessories, so it's a great time to check the sale racks in back. Fun, fanciful displays are worth the trip. Anthropologie is one of the most beautiful looking stores I've come across, especially one that's amongst typical, mall type of commercial stores. They sell home items and women's clothing, there's isn't a men's or children's section in Anthropologie. I can only imagine, if they had a kids section, how dreamy it would be. I like the South Windsor store, because it's generally easier to navigate and it's much less busy then the Westfarms location. I immediately gravitate towards the home section, the mugs, the dishes, the decorative towels, all sorts of nicknacks. Anthropologie is a costly store, particularly their clothing, a lot of it is in bold prints, and heavy fabrics, it's either for a particular occasion or a specific type of dresser. However, their home items are very much my style, and they're more appropriately priced, and can sometimes be found on sale. The staff is always pleasant, they've helped me locate and order an item they didn't have in stock. Right now during the holidays, the store is so tastefully decorated, and the ornaments they sell are really sweet! I love this store, I if you don't buy anything, just enjoy looking at all the lovely things! read more

Although I did not buy anything my family sure did! They had what my daughter calls sale on sale. It was 30% off the sale price. They grabbed up clothes and headed for the plentiful fitting rooms. There's comfortable seating for the men and ladies just outside the fitting rooms. There was a fashion show with the families approval of prospective purchases. Payment was made quickly and with ease at the register. I love their shopping bags so handy and colorful. We grabbed them up and headed out. It's a beautiful store. Everything looks new and spacious in this shopping center. I love the displays. The clothes are wonderful. The original prices are out of control! Anthropologie is my favorite "treat yo' self" store. I don't shop at Anthro too often -- it's high quality and priced to match -- but this is my favorite location in the region to stop into. The staff has always been helpful and inviting. If you're trying things on, they'll set up a dressing room for you in advance, bring you extra sizes, etc. You'll definitely feel like royalty! The set-up inside is always so gorgeous and well organized. The housewares and bath sections are some of my favorite areas to browse through. These are also the best sections to start in if you want something pretty but are shopping on a budget. Also, always be sure to check out the clearance area in the back corner of the shop. My love affair with Anthropologie began during my junior or senior year of high school - about 10 years ago. At the time, I lived in a small town in Arizona which was 2 hours from a big city (civilization) aka any nice mall. I randomly started getting their catalogs in the mail and loved their unique, one of a kind designs . Their clothes were definitely a refreshing albeit expensive change from GAP, Dillards, American Eagle or Abercrombie and Fitch - the typical clothing stores for teenagers at that time. I recall getting the dress for my high school graduation from Anthro. A flowing dress with a vintagey floral pattern still hangs in my closet. You can't imagine how excited I was when I moved to Connecticut for college and there was an Anthropologie store in the state! Even better it wasn't far from my grandparent's house. Everytime I would visit, we would visit the Westport store. Although my purchases were limited, I still loved going there, as shopping in Anthro is truly an experience. While in college, the Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk was built with Anthropologie as one of its stores. I couldn't be happier! I have consistently shopped at Anthropologie since then and enjoyed every minute of it. The customer service has always been phenomenal. There are always people greeting you at the door (or making sure you aren't shoplifting, I suppose), the dressing rooms are adequately staffed, and the staff is knowledgeable of the products. My only complaint is the price. I understand that certain designer brands come with designer price tags, and I can deal with that. However, a no name cotton shirt for $58?! I could walk a few strides and get something similar at GAP, Banana Republic etc for 1/3 of the price. Regardless, I still like Anthro for their eclectic pieces and definitely will continue to shop here for special occasions. I do try to avoid it altogether if I'm "just looking". With all of that said, you can hit good sales and pay a fraction of the cost. You just have to act fast to get your size, etc. If you enroll in the Anthro card (free, like having a stop and shop card) you get coupons in the mail (not often, I think for your birthday) and all of your purchase history is accessible via a swipe of the card. All in all, if you have the money to spend and are looking for an extraordinary addition to your wardrobe, Anthropologie will not disappoint. read more

As previously mentioned, don't come in here in anything not hip and trendy or expect to blend into the sweaters and housewares because no one will speak to you. The focus of this store is very obviously on the visuals and not the service. That being said, I've had better experience getting assistance at the Westfarms location, as I won't even go in here after the manager followed me around like a petty thief. It took me some time to figure out what to say here because I was looking for a good way to describe Anthropologie's style. They sell housewares as well as clothing; you can get dishes, bedding, bathroom accessories, soaps, books, and stuffed animals. This is where the Manic Pixie Dreamgirl shops. If you don't know that term, she's a stock character in films (paraphrasing from wikipedia) who is bubbly, unabashedly girlish, eccentric, and delicate. That's exactly what the clothes in here scream. I even saw a gauzy green sundress with some metallic strands in it... Tinkerbell's dress, perhaps? Lots of things like that. Having said that, I love their merchandise. :) I am not a MPDG, but I have my girly days, and I love the idea of a shirt with ruffles or a skirt with embellishments. Their merchandise is expensive, so while I have drawn inspiration for my home from there, I haven't gone all-out on buying linens and dishes. However, I have found some cute things in their clearance section. Bonus: Their exchange policy is generous. No time limits, and you can even exchange sale merchandise. They just want you to keep the tags attached and bring the receipt. :) read more

Ok. So I'm obsessed with Anthropologie and generally shop online, but it's a treat to go to an actual Anthro store. Evergreen Walk is exceptional. This store is great. Set up well, they mix and match pieces so you can see potential outfits. The staff are nice and helpful. I could easily spend hours in this store but my family complains when I take too long lol. in general, anthropologie is a weird store. ok - obviously i am a guy, and this is a womens clothing store so it isn't for me. but they have off to the side a strange collection of interesting books, kitchen wares, bedroom furnishings, decorations, etc and some of them are pretty cool (but pricey) things you likely won't find elsewhere. i like to go in and look while my wife looks at the clothes but i cant remember the last time i actually bought anything here! read more

Worst customer service I've ever seen! No one talks to you unless you look like you have money. Every single time I go in there if I'm not "dressed up" they won't even speak to me but the next person that looks like they do have money they will follow around all day. Love the store but I hate spending my money there just because of this. read more

Anthropologie is the bomb! They have clothes and home goods that are really unique. I never leave the store without buying something!

I have been shopping at this Anthropologie location for a long time, and while I like many of the clothing styles sold here, I am extremely put off by the customer service that I received during a recent visit. I went into the store looking for a specific dress that I had seen online. I walked around the store, trying to locate it, and when I could not I approached the register and asked for the dress by the name given on the website, and described it as well. The girl behind the register gave me an incredulous look, and then asked me if I was sure I if I was describing the dress correctly. Another sales associate came over, and I described the dress again. She too knew nothing of the dress. At that point, I would have hoped they would have offered to locate the dress for me at another store or try to obtain more information to assist me. The second sales associate told me there was nothing she could do to help me. Both women looked me as if I was some sort of freakazoid and I was making up the dress. It's sad when the customer knows more about the products being sold than the people being paid to work at the store. From now on, I'll take my money down the road to J Crew, where the sales associates are kind and helpful. read more
