Our server, Savannah, was amazing! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. She answered all of our questions, offered excellent recommendations, and guided us through the menu as we ordered. Outstanding customer service from start to finish. 2. Menu - A The menu was easy to read and well organized. At first, the sandwich prices seemed a little high, but once we saw the size of the sandwiches, it was clear they were a great value. You definitely get your money's worth. 3. Italian Market - A While waiting for our food, we looked around the store and were impressed by the large selection of authentic Italian products. From canned tomatoes to a wide variety of imported pastas and other Italian specialties, there were plenty of quality items available at reasonable prices. If you enjoy cooking Italian food at home, this is a great place to shop. 4. Food - A+ We ordered the Italian Beef Sandwich with both hot and sweet peppers. The sandwich was outstanding, loaded with flavorful Italian beef, and the peppers were delicious. One warning--the hot peppers are very hot! Next time, we'll probably order it with all sweet peppers. We also ordered the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich on focaccia bread, and it was amazing. The chicken was tender, the sauce had excellent flavor, and the focaccia was fresh and complemented the sandwich perfectly. Both sandwiches were generous in size and packed with flavor. Overall First Impression Tommy Salami's exceeded our expectations. Between the exceptional customer service, easy-to-read menu, authentic Italian market, and delicious food, it was an outstanding first experience. However, the place was full during happy hour on Saturday afternoon! SF HITW has a small restroom for guests. I took a trip to the restroom while my order was being prepared and I could hear my name called. Service was pretty speedy and solid, the only issue I encountered was the cashier leaving the counter unattended to chat with her coworkers. When I was ready to pick-up my slices about two minutes later after I exited the restroom, I found myself waiting in front of the counter. Thankfully, another staff member got her attention and we were back in business. My slice was in a warmer while it waited for me, they were super nice! I'll definitely return to this pizzeria! Walk in, get told there's a menu by the register, so my wife picks it up to look over it and is immediately reprimanded because "it's the display menu." Well genius, your display menu is folded therefore it needs to be picked up and unfolded to be viewed. Not sure why that was a problem that needed addressing, as it was not a laminated menu and there were 30+ more of them less than 2 feet away. Even if that didn't happen, wouldn't have gotten anything anyway. I've come here many times over the last 8 months and it's always been good. Today? It looked absolutely atrocious. I've seen better-looking pre-made pizza at 7-Elevens around here. Blasphemously dry, looked like it was made 12 hours prior and just sat around. I won't bother asking you to do better because it doesn't matter. We will not even consider returning anymore.
