Come here for the best Asian Fruit Cakes!! Growing up we always have fruit cakes and my whole family goes to them for any celebrations and even wedding cakes! The cake is perfectly moist. The whipped cream is the perfect amount of sweetness. The cake is light and delicious. The pricing is great too!! Very friendly family and gives you the best customer service! I would highly recommend!

Stopped at this place to check and see for the first time, we got a box of almond cookies and one slice of baked cheesecake. Both were very disappointing and bland with zero flavor. I'm thinking their main item here are cakes as we noticed hardly any baked goods for sale but about a dozen cakes in various different sizes. I might try them again for a cake at some point but not a good bakery for any other type of baked goods.

From the outside, Asahi Bakery looks unassuming and you can easily walk/drive right past without noticing. Head inside and a while world of Asian pastries and goodies await. I love their cappuccino cake. Make sure to order ahead as they might not have this flavor available for purchase at all times. The owners are super sweet (no pun intended!) and it's been a pleasure getting to know them. The only reason my review is not 5 stars is because the fruit on some of the cakes were not that fresh and the cream frosting on the ready made cakes can be a bit stale depending on how long they have been in the refrigerated case. Since this bakery is a family owned business they can have limited hours, so be sure to double-check when they are open.

This place is so good!!! We get the macrons which are coconut filled collate like balls. They are delicious: the cakes also look so good.

Mini fruit cake rolls. The cake is sponge cake. Very light and refreshing

I have lived in the neighborhood for over 5 years now and regret not giving this bakery more business than I should. It's unique for the area because they are an Asian bakery. Asian cakes are predominantly sponge cake, resulting in a lighter airier tasting dessert. They also tend to use either butter cream or whipped cream (Asahi uses whipped cream) which I very much prefer over sugar frosting. Sugar frosting literally makes my teeth cringe and hurt just from thinking about it. It also screams, pls inject me with DMII, but I digress. Recently had the pleasure of swinging in to pick up a treat for the foster department staff at Arizona Animal Welfare League, where I foster and volunteer at (shameless plug, pls consider fostering to help save small lil furry lives). Did not want to be boring or cliche by bringing in donuts, cookies from costco, cake from a Fry's or something generic. So after a lil brainstorming, Asahi came to mind. Picked up these cute fruit cake mini rolls. Perfect for a light lil afternoon treat. I've had the pleasure of trying their actual whole fruit cake in the past and it's delightful. I'm definitely making a better effort and giving this place more of my business. The owner and staff are also so kind and grateful for every customer.

Asahi Bakery Orderd the Asahi Fruit Cake in a quarter sheet to feed 12, we cut generous size slices and had plenty leftover. Called Friday, was looking at picking up on Saturday morning, but they open at 11 am and I had to be in Tempe with the cake by 11am. So David the owner said he would open at 10:30 am on Saturday, but I thought that would be cutting it close. I asked him what he currently had and he said he had one more quarter sheet so I asked it he could hold it for me and I would like to pick it up Friday and asked about writing birthday names on the cake and he said it would take about 10 seconds, I think it took him 15 seconds because there were four names. Lol. David was very accommodating and the cake was a hit at the get together.

There are tables inside the restaurant and outside of the restaurant. While it was hot outside (in the 90s) the shade and wind made it extremely comfortable to sit outside. The bakery itself was extremely cute and new bakery items were consistently being brought out and restocked. I came with my (extremely picky) mom and she really enjoyed Paris Rendez-Vous. We both got the Ham and Cheese Croissant to stay, it had bechemal sauce inside of the sandwhich adding a nice creaminess. The to stay dish does cost a few dollars more than the to go dish. This is because you are served and also it comes with a light salad with Italian dressing. The salad was a nice addition to the sandwhich, it added the perfect amount of freshness. My mom got an apricot cheese danish to go, and she wishes she would have grabbed 3 more, she is insistent that they are the best vanishes that she has ever had in Arizona...so I would recommend checking that out. Overall it was a nice and quiet brunch spot, that I would definitely classify as a hidden gem in Scottsdale. I recommend checking it out.

Yes, there's usually a wait since the place has limited seating and sometimes they even sell out, but definitely worth trying! Wasn't too loud and cozy atmosphere. Bring yourself something to do since there's not much to walk around in the area while you wait. (I did not. I ordered a full breakfast and a waffle like an adult with priorities.) I went around 9:15am on a Wednesday--only a few tables were occupied, and the staff was super friendly, gave great recommendations, and the food came out fast. Inside is dialed in with chandeliers, French-y posters and photos everywhere, and a pastry case with tarts, pastries, and cheesecake that basically dares you to behave. The croissant was the star... fresh, flaky, light, buttery... exactly what you want. The egg was cooked perfectly and the cheese was melted into it almost like a mini omelette (loved that). My only hiccup was the "bacon." It leaned more limp pork belly than crispy bacon and had a distinct smoke flavor that wasn't the traditional hardwood/hickory vibe I'm used to. Also... because the cheese and egg are fused together, it's basically impossible to pick the bacon out once it's in there. Next time I'd order it without bacon or ask for it on the side and make it crispy. It came with a side salad, which is not what I expected with breakfast, but it was actually great, fresh spring mix and a delicious dressing with a subtle sweet undertone. There were also hash browns with a crispy exterior and soft, warm interior, exactly the texture you hope for I just wish there were more of them! Because I have no self-control around French cafes, I also ordered the Belgian waffle with fruit and whipped cream. The waffle was warm and tasty, more tender/soft than crispy, and I ended up preferring it to the 'scrape the roof of your mouth' style that most restaurants serve up. The whipped cream tasted freshly whipped and the fruit selection was generous. My only critique: I'd skip the granulated sugar on top. The waffle is sweet enough already, and biting into sugar crystals isn't my favorite texture. For a drink I tried the blueberry lavender matcha. It had crushed blueberries in it, but the matcha flavor was pretty mild and the lavender got lost. I also would've liked a touch more sweetness from the syrup but overall it drank a bit "soft" and subtle. Bottom line... really cool little spot with friendly service, quick food, and a pastry case that will absolutely ruin any plan you had to "just eat light." I'll be back but next time I'm customizing that croissant sandwich and letting the pastries talk me into bad decisions.
