This is a textbook Chinese take-out restaurant. It's not the kind of restaurant you would want to sit down and eat a meal, but their take-out is delicious and inexpensive. The sweet-and-sour sauce is delicious, however the sweet-and-sour chicken had more breading then it did meat. All in all decent, but not great. I don't know why so many reviews complain about customer service - the guy on the phone who took my order was perfectly nice, and the two people behind the counter when I went in to pick up my food were extremely friendly! Very nice people, and then the food was also surprisingly good! Not nearly as greasy as I was expecting after reading some of these reviews, and really flavorful. When picking up your meal, you are greeted to a dirty restaurant with an ancient early-80s soda machine. The food was inedible. I got the chicken & broccoli...the brown gravy was not gravy at all, but rather a curdled brown jelly. The broccoli was tough and completely overcooked. I will NEVER eat here again. Decent Chinese food for a reasonable price. I ordered lo mein, chicken fingers, and fried rice for a total of $24 including tax, tip, and delivery. The lo mein was amazing, very well done. The fried rice wasn't bad, I ordered it plain but wish I had added chicken/beef to give it a little something extra. The chicken fingers weren't great. They tasted pretty dry and had a "microwave flavor" to it, but that's what you get for ordering chicken fingers at a Chinese place I guess. The delivery service is horrible. They do not delivery to your door and will not bring enough change. The food quality is inconsistent. Ma la Xiang guo is not spicy at all and there is weird stuff in it (that you didn't order). Do not recommend. Go to other restaurant to order food. read more

I have been coming to this place for the past 5 years or so. Like so many of you chinese food enthusiasts out there, I am just as picky as the next person. Asia Wok is one the best places I've tried in a long time. I've always had good experiences here, food and service wise. They make the best fried rice I've ever had outside of the home cooked stuff. My two usual and favorite items are: Ma Po Tofu with fried egg on top and their Tai Dish with 7 shrimp. I usually eat half and save the other half for a late night meal or for the next day. Their prices are the same as anywhere else - average for most of the menu and pricier when you get to the Chef's Specialties. I no longer work in Waltham, which is how I found this place. But, I still make the trip up here (10 Miles) because it's that good and worth it. read more

Ordered delivery to my hotel. Order was easy to place and about 45 min for delivery. Food was hot and delicious. Had the chicken with string beans, vege fried rice and pork lo mein. Worst service I have ever encountered in my life, the workers are so rude. My phone died as I was walking to my front door (they call you when they arrive) and they sped off! My phone dying isn't a reason to speed off with my food. I called them back saying the delivery guy left with my food and they yelled at me saying it's my fault because I didn't answer my phone, even though I was at the door. Not impressed.. They delivered 'General Gau' when I ordered 'Kung Pau'. I understand they sound similar but they are very different and I did not appreciate the mix up. Then, my appetizers were over cooked along with the chicken. So, there was no salvaging any part of the meal. By the time I was through a few bites, my enthusiasm was diminished and my appetite, gone. I felt like I wasted my money. I decided to call and let them know of the mistake. I didn't want anything in return, rather, I was inexcusably unhappy with the meal and thought I'd do he next customer a favor by letting the restaurant know of my feedback. However, upon hearing that I was calling to report a mistake rather than put in an order, the order taker put me on hold! I could hear for a few minuets the orders that were being taken. I've got to join the masses and agree that this place is the best American/Asian food around - especially for the price! I was shocked to see that they were actually COOKING the combo that I ordered rather than just slapping it together on a plate. It was hot, and as a lot of Chinese food is, YUMMY!!! The crab rangoon might have added 1,000 calories to my day, but they were worth it! The only thing that wasn't so great was the chicken fingers. These people work hard and kick ass. I tend bar in waltham and usually get out of work when most people are 4 hours into deep sleep. Asia wok is there for me at 130am when I have the munchies and refuse to go to sleep without chicken fried rice or an order of crab rangoons. Everything is as you'd expect. After moving back to Waltham from Norwood, Asia Wok satisfied my cravings. There is a place in Norwood called Bamboo House II, and they were the best take out! (shrimp toast appy's -awesome!) Asia Wok is our go to here in Watham now. The Yaka Mein Soup is a nice change for Hot-n-Sour and/or Wonton Soup. We've tried other places, but always come back here. In fact, they JUST delivered! PIPING HOT! I couldn't wait to grab a crab rangoon. YUM! We have to wait a bit for the soup to cool down enough to handle. The people there are always friendly when I call, and if I ask them to call me when they arrive, they do (I am on the 3rd floor of a very old house, doorbell doesn't always work) First time we ordered from there, I called them around midnight to tell them how good the food was. I could hear the SMILE in his voice! :) Very appreciated, especially when people only call to complain.. know what I mean? Give them a chance. Tell 'em you know me! Ha-Ha! (I like to think they remember that call I made) DAMN! The General Gaos chicken was half sweet-n-sour (I found a pineapple chunk, a nice surprise for me. As a college kid, Asia wok is definitely a good replacement for when you get sick of school food or when you need something to fill your stomach on late night binges. The delivery service is something you cant complain about, they always come in time and you always have the option to pay in cash or credit. As for the food itself, it depends on what you order! The General Gau's chicken is quite good and so is the orange flavored chicken. Me and my roommates have also ordered and tried the beef with broccoli a number of times and cant complain about the quality. It varies from time to time but it is tasty. They have a tendency to serve you more broccoli than beef but if you ask them for more beef they will gladly do so. Overall its a great take out Chinese restaurant you should try! read more
