Finally made it to Assados!! We arrived early to beat the rush. Every time we drive by, the place is mobbed...even for lunch! We were seated right away and were greeted by our server Kennedy, who was very pleasant indeed. She took our drink order as we perused both the specials and regular menus. For our apps, I chose the grilled octopus, and my wife had the chowder and stuffies. INCREDIBLE! For entrees, I chose the Mediterranean salad topped with a nice piece of salmon, and my wife had fish and chips. Again, INCREDIBLE! Everything was so flavorful and in abundance. The service, excellent the ambiance, fantastic. (I love the remodeling work) and very reasonable prices. To sum it up, we had a magnificent experience and can't wait to return for as long as it takes to try everything else on the menu!! Strongly recommend you do the same! Addio per ora! read more

Not a good experience! My burger was just warm, at best. Fries as well. Bloody Mary's were half the size they should be. I received the wrong drink, TWICE! On a positive note, the service was wonderful! Won't be back. Will share this experience with my senior friends, lots of them! read more

A great experience!! Reservation for 6pm on a Friday evening, sat down with no waiting. Server was very pleasant and took our drink and app order quickly. Apps arrived rather quickly( before the drink order) and the calamari was excellent! Huge plate of Nachos as well. The main course meals were spot on to their menu descriptions as well as previous reviews! Definitely an enjoyable experience and all within 1 hour of arriving! I surprised my wife for Valentine's Day and made a reservation for dinner. Which I highly recommend as there were diners coming through the door non stop. This place does it right! Growing up eating Portuguese food the flavors here took me right back. Our server was very attentive and had some great recommendations. The calamari is absolutely delicious! It was our first time here, and the food was very good and the service was even better. The only downside was the noise level in the restaurant was quite high. We just had a baby shower at Assados this past weekend. I was so nervous about the gluten free / vegan options they would be able to accomodate. They hit it out of the park. We reserved 2 roooms for 65 people and everyone commented how nice it was and how good the food was. the fireplace room is so warm and inviting while the sunny room was great for pictures! If you have Melanie the bartender she is horrible. Accused us of having too drinks prior to coming to her bar at the golf course before we arrived after she served us a drinks . We ordered apps. My husband then ordered a drink for our nephew who was inside prior eating & drinking then she said " you what another which my husband had then not even drank 2/3 of his drink." We have given this restaurant multiple tries and have good friends that love it. She probably put the nail in the coffin for us! read more

We sat on the deck and the service was fine and friendly. The food wasn't even mediocre. Nachos were fine but as generic as they get. Also ordered the Assados wings which were supposed to be char grilled but came out with the skins super pale and soggy like they were steamed and put on the grill for a couple of seconds to warm them up. I ordered the pork and clams which I figured a Portuguese place would be able to handle. The pork was so dry and over cooked it was an extreme effort just to chew it, the clams seemed like they were somehow able to pick up more sand after they left the beach and made it to the plate. The broth tasted good but was super oily. Wife got the steak sandwich and hitch was also so over cooked that you couldn't bite through the meat and stale bread together. The only reason that this place exists is it's location and lack of decent competition. read more

I've been here a couple of times now. I don't usually give a five stars rating. But I'm totally impressed with the food and the service! The octopus is to die for. Tender and delicious. And we had whole belly fried clams today and they are the best I have ever had. Not greasy or chewy. They were sweet and cooked to perfection. That's saying a lot coming from me I live in Narragansett where seafood is always fresh and well prepared. read more

Great overall experience! Had 7:00 pm reservations on a Friday night. Place was buzzing upon arrival. We were seated immediately and greeted soon thereafter by Jim. Entire staff was pleasant, cordial, attentive, smiling, and busy; everyone was doing something the entire time we were there. Great overall atmosphere. We sat in a choice corner table which seemed "private" but still felt like we were apart of the bustle. Had plenty of room and never felt crowded. Began with full glasses of ice cold water, fresh bread and calamari which was amazing. Ordered cocktails next...everyone was pleased w theirs. Our meals included a baked seafood trio, sirloin tips over rice, Florentine meatloaf, and surf and turf which consisted of a 16 oz. Prime rib cut that I had "Assad's style". Best prime rib I've ever had, hands down!! All of the meals were fantastic and Jim checked in on us repeatedly. Finished with a lemon blueberry mascarpone cake that was amazing too!! Place had largely emptied out by the time we finished but we were never made to feel hurried or rushed. Plenty of parking all around the building. I highly recommend a visit. Will definitely be back soon. Looking forward to returning in better weather to enjoy the large outdoor seating area! read more

First, the downside: The host staff needs improvement. They quoted us an hour and we waited 2 and a half. No apologies or sense of urgency. There were 3 people looking at 4 pieces of paper with lists. Maybe don't take reservations this early in your opening. We were told after an hour there were 7 names on the list before us. I went up 40 minutes later and was told...there were 7 people before us. huh? The upside: Once we were seated we had fantastic service and food. The hummus was absolutely delicious. The food was served quickly and the portions were great. Will try again but not on a weekend night. read more

Food was okay. I didn't expect the Portuguese food to be great - you'd have to go to East Providence, Fall River, or New Bedford for that. I had the St. Jorge (chicken) and it came with roasted potatoes and rice pilaf and all did not have any flavor. I think if they put Chiourico on a dish they'll call it Portuguese something. My husband got the Portuguese stuffed peppers, mashed potatoes and a vegetable. He said all was just okay. They have plenty of other options to choose from, but I think they're sort of all of the place with food options and maybe should stick to whatever they make good. Service was good and the place is clean and updated. It was busy for early Saturday (4:30) Not in a hurry to go back, but with the lack of good restaurants in the area, I hope they make it. read more

Had a party of 4. Wish they took reservations for party smaller than 6. 1/2 hour wait wasn't bad. The calamari was good with just a little kick. The sirloin was cooked perfectly but size was a little small. Friend had pistachio crusted salmon and she really enjoyed it. Others had the seafood medley over rise. Nothing was left.
