Awesome. Everything I've had here was delicious. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and great food. They are very consistent with their meals. Each time, just as good as the last. This place is awesome! Fresh food, great flavor, friendly service. The husband/wife team are from Laos and Thailand and used to do catering before opening this restaurant, they make great food. I talked to the owner and he made it clear that he wants to bring authentic East Asian food to Athens. It's on the far end of downtown, but well worth the walk. Reminds me of food I used to get in Chinatown in SF and Chicago. Definitely coming back here. read more

I was a little wary at first, since it was basically my family and another couple at 6:30pm. But, they exceeded my expectations! We ordered a couple different Thai and Chinese dishes and shared around. One entree was perfect for 2 people, so we had some leftovers. The basil fried rice was delicious-so fresh and flavorful! Food was really good. They have both Chinese and Thai. I got the general tso's chicken with fried rice and was not disappointed. I think the best part was the service. Very friendly and they want you to leave happy. We went for my dad's birthday and they surprised him with cake and cheesecake treats. Very thoughtful! I'd say I found my new Thai food fix! I came here around dinner time (6:30) and I was a little surprised to see this place completely empty. I immediately second guessed myself and wondered if this place was empty for a reason. First of all, their Thai tea is very moderately priced and it tastes fantastic. We had the chicken satay as an appetizer and I could not stop eating that peanut sauce. My pad Thai was cooked to perfection, and I, a pad Thai expert, was very pleased with the flavors and quality of the pad Thai here. My waiter was a little slow and was on his phone half the time, so for that, I will have to dock a star. read more

I ordered the Mongolian beef lunch special. First of all, the serving size was super small for a $7 lunch special. The spring roll was OK, but the entree was super salty... just gross! Will definitely come back to this place! The restaurant atmosphere seems to be a work in progress, but the staff were very friendly. We got our order to go, and we received a lot of good food, with leftovers for the next day! We didn't have to wait long for the food at all. Maybe 15 mins total. I got the pad Thai and it was good, it's nice they put the peanuts on the side in case you have a peanut allergy. There wasn't any bean sprouts which I liked as well. The fried rice was good and they have "yum yum" sauce for the rice at an additional cost. The sauce is a different from other restaurants but still good. Will definitely try again! read more

This place is amazing! I really did love it and was so impressed with their food. This lived up to some of the best Thai I've enjoyed! Athens is lucky to have this cool Mom and Pops restaurant. I was excited to try this place, but the reviews looked mixed. Some great, some not so great, but the pictures did look yummy! I was underwhelmed with what I received. I got a noodle dish that was generous on the noodle and little more. There were no major spice notes, mostly sweetness, a few veggies and a little chicken. I got pot stickers and there were only 4, most places offer 6 to an order. They were good. The wrappers were a little thick but overall had an o.k. flavor. Good hot and sour, again not very spicy. Egg drop soup I didn't try but no crispy wontons were given to go with so that was a bit disappointing. I think this is a great place to grab some food if you are hungry and need to eat. It's a good take out place to grab a quick hot meal. It's not expensive but not cheap either. Overall just o.k. The owner was friendly and asked if we made it through the storm o.k. It was late just before close. I'll try again sometime at lunch and see if they offer a better lunch service. read more

I was convinced by all of the 5 star reviews to try Athens Wok. First, you have to know that most establishments in downtown Athens have a funky sewer smell to them. It's not their fault. Athens Wok is no exception. The Pad Thai is pretty standard. General Tso's chicken was OK too. We did see a Crunchy Roll that another table ordered. It looked beautiful. The staff was nice enough and several people came in to pick up to go orders. Overall, the dining room isn't completely finished and the female cook in the kitchen came out into the dining room a couple of times and i don't think she was dressed appropriately for food service. We ate quickly and left without issue but we won't be back. read more

I was excited to try this place because it had such great reviews. Three of the 4 things that I wanted we not available. No sushi, wings, or chicken curry pops. I finally settled w the general tso chicken and lo mien. It was a salty gooey mess. The lo me in was coated in some type of oily salty soy based sauce and the chicken was cover such thick sauce that it was almost gelatinous. read more
