This not so common combination of buffet sushi plus the plaza fiesta vibes is EVERYTHING! I could see myself really bulldozing a hangover here. Or crying about a lost lover while replenishing my soul with tamales and sushi. So far I've only had a to go plate- and it was 6/10 on flavor and freshness. But I will be investing. The restaurant was almost empty and we decided to go in anyway. The worst buffet, we have ever been to. The crap legs are not there any longer, but, the main dishes were not put out on the buffet. The fried fish, fried shrimp, and another shrimp dish. My husband made a plate of salad and something Mexican. They should close the doors. We were there for an hour, and they never put out food. Although they have a big selection of food the restaurant looks old and dingy for it to be a renovated space and the bathrooms are nasty. Updating my original review. They really do need to update the cashier station / payment process. It is ALWAYS crowded with people and the cashier can never keep up with who's next. Today, it took forever for the cashier to weigh and let me pay for my food because there was a couple with their daughter who didn't have enough money to pay, and the boyfriend went to his girlfriend's car to look for some cash she told him he could find there. They thought their daughter could eat free as part of the free birthday meal policy so they'd only brought enough money for 2 meals. But the handwritten sign at the desk said the only way to get the free birthday meal is with a ticket / party of 4 paid-for meals. The boyfriend took FOREVER to return from the car with the additional money and the cashier just let me stand there waiting instead of voiding their order out and ringing me up. By the time the bf made it back from the car, there was another customer standing behind me waiting to pay for her take-out food too AND a large party of more than 5 adults with kids waiting to pay so they could dine in. It was pretty frustrating to be standing there wasting my lunch hour like that while my food, which wasn't the hottest to begin with, was getting cold. There also appears to be some sort of issue with their phones. I tried calling the other day and it said number could not be completed as dialed. Tried it again today - same thing. I wanted to ask if they had a specific item on the menu before I drove over because it's not an every day item. I also wish they would label the offerings. For some items, it's easy to determine what you're looking at (chicken and broccoli, crab legs, etc). But for other items - you have no idea what you're looking at. Is that a chicken and cheese quesadilla? Or is that just a cheese quesadilla? I know that's salmon. But what's the mystery topping on the salmon? Is that orange chicken or sweet & sour chicken? Is this ground pork? Or ground beef? There are things that I've not tried simply because I had no idea what it was and I didn't want to waste money (they weigh your tray for take-out orders) by getting something I didn't love. I also have a few food allergies - so I like to know that I'm not about risk an itchy, hive-covered night for a bite of mystery meat. Food / Taste I've discovered that depending on the time of day, you might get old, dried out food. It's happened to me twice now. Don't get me wrong - you can look at the food and absolutely tell whether or not it's dried out, but on the occasions where I just 'bit the bullet' and got it anyway, it's because a) I didn't have the time to go someplace else and b) I didn't have the time to cook before my next meeting. Also - I finally tried the fish. One associate told me it was 'white fish.' Another told me he thought it was whiting. He asked the associate next to him and she said she thought it was tilapia. I'm not a farmed fish snob. I've had some tasty tilapia in my day. My only requirement is that it be mild fish (ie whiting, flounder, tilapia, grouper, red snapper). But the one mild fish that I absolutely cannot stand is SWAI. It's just so mushy and bland. If I'm gonna go this mild I'd rather eat cod or Alaskan pollock. The fish on this buffet is absolutely swai. And if they're being told it's whiting, their vendor is lying to them. I grew up in a fishing town where fish and shrimp were cheaper than ground beef or chicken. And I can safely say there is no way this is whiting. Price / Value The value remains the same. You can dine in from 11am - 4pm for $7.99. This lunch special means the place is FULL of people STUFFING themselves with crab legs. Lol. Overall Overall, I'll go back, but I'll be sure to hit them up when they first open at 11am to try to beat the crowds - and to make sure my food is fresh (instead of dried out) and hot. read more

We came to Atlantic Buffet after leaving the near by trampoline park. They do have multiple locations so be mindful of which one you go to. I was a little scared to try them again since we went to the one in Douglasville and it wasn't good at all. For a Saturday early dinner time (630/7ish) traffic was pretty study Ambiance: upon entrance the place just felt cleaner than the one in Douglasville. The place was well lit and just had a nice warm overall walk-in feeling. Bar was MUCH cleaner with plenty selections. Think of the inside being an old Ryan's or G.C. same layout. Food: BABY food was GREAT!!!! I mean so good I secretly wanted a to go plate. Coconut shrimp, shredded beef, cactus, hibachi, *chefs kiss* just to name a few things. Everything was cooked perfectly. And for the fact the were rolling out with fresh stuff quickly omg yesss Service: We walked in to a little bit of a line but went quicky. Once we were escorted to our tables, we were off to the food. Came back drinks were there waiting. Didn't need service much but he did the job. All in all I give them 4 stars. Only reason they didn't receive 5 stars, I think they could of had a little bigger selection for option for hibachi. I most DEFINITELY will be back. read more

The food was spectacular! Everything there was juicy and fresh! Love the many selections and I can't believe they have so many seafood options! I always love a buffet with crab legs, crawfish, shrimp, calamari, and fish! They have so many sushi options and love the hibachi there. The fruits are so fresh and they have a lot of dessert and ice cream options! Price reflects the quality of the food so love that it's still affordable and that you get delicious food! Been waiting on this place to open for a year so needless to say my foodie self was excited to drive by and see they had opened. Now, before I write this let me say they recently opened and have MANY kinks to iron out. The temperature of the food is one of them. Cleanliness could be better, especially near the seating area. However, they do have a sign saying they are hiring. My favorite things at a Chinese buffet is cream cheese ragoons and I have to say they did not disappoint. They are pretty good, 4.3 out of 5. Black pepper chicken, 2 out of 5. Fried shrimp 4.8 out of 5. Fried rice 4 out of 5. Large variety of fruit. They have hand scooped ice cream if that's your thing, but since covid I shy away from that. There is sushi,hibachi, steak, ribs and crab legs. Crab legs are in an interesting gravy lol. This is an amazing restaurant I could not believe it was only $15 to eat here for adults! They serve real authentic Mexican dishes I was so impressed there was Manito ceviche, Mexican corn, and a plethora of other dishes plus lots of exotic fruits for those that don't care for Mexican dishes there was sushi Hibachi where you could pick your own food to be cooked lots and lots of seafood dishes, American food like pizza, fried chicken I cannot even start to tell you how wonderful their hot wings were!!! On the downside, they play loud, very outdated music, which I found extremely annoying their restrooms smelled horrible, but the rest of the restaurants seem very clean. Service was and is horrible and I'm a leave it at that minus the young black dining room attendant he goes extra mile. You don't get any service if you aren't Hispanic where they'll sit you far away where the aforementioned black DRA services. The DRAs (dining room attendants) circle around the drink stations for a very long time. If you aren't Hispanic they sit you far away as possible even when the restaurant is empty supposedly empty. The far sittings is where the black dining room attendant services. Today makes my third time coming and probably will be the last time. The second time when I was here the lady who was supposed to had service where I was stayed away from us. Not until I'd questioned who was servicing the area? She came with a scowl written all across her face. Beforehand I kind of suspected it was her because she would stand by the drink station just staring at the table as if she's waiting for me to leave. Where's the refills at and where's the taking up the empty plates? Little do they know I usually leave a good tip and I don't know if leaving a good tip is frowned upon by them but the service declines every time I leave a good tip. That's before even sitting down because it's all done when you come into the restaurant and you pay before you eat. Perhaps from now on if I do decide to pay them a visit I won't leave a tip at the register but leave a cash tip at the table. Give them exactly what their service equals to. Would it none? So, Evidently China King in Morganton, NC is now Atlantic buffet. The China King sign is still on the building and there are no signs telling you it has changed. When it was China King, you went in and was seated and at the end of the meal you paid. Now, you pay first. The restaurant is not set up for this It is a mess. Also, no signs telling you that your meal would now cost $4.00 more. Also, China King had a lunch cost and a dinner cost. It was still mostly Chinese food, but the offerings have changed quite a bit. No soy sauce. Lots of Mexican sauces but no Soy sauce. I do not want Mexican hot sauce on my rice. Most of the food was fresh, I just liked the China King offerings better. We probably visited China King and Average of once a month. Because of the changes in food, the price and the fact that we had to figure out the change ourselves, we are not planning on going back. My Mother loves Chinese food and we have been going to China King in Morganton for Mother's Day for about seven years. Not this year, we will find someplace else. Very disappointed. Bad service also. This used to be a great place to go. I had not been here in a while. I was in the area and thought I would treat myself. First, anytime a restaurant wants you prepay for the tip is a bad sign. Second, the food had been on the steam tables way too long. The ribs were so dry I could barely pull them apart. The roasted wings were the same. My use stand by of Sesame Chicken was tasty but once again dried out. The best thing was the lemon pie. Too bad it was store bought. They do sell crab legs 15.99 lb and they are not included in the buffet. The dinner price is 17.99 per person without taxes and without a drink. I arrived at 4pm for dinner and the food was cold and not replenished. I waited around for bout hour to see if anything changed but it didn't. We called to see how the crabs were cooked whether steamed or fried and what type of crab is offered and the person who answered the phone could not tell me anything except; " yes, we have crab." So we went out on a limb and took the drive for the crab. It was very disappointing super small baby crabs fried and no flavor, no meat. The sushi actually looked OK however I'm not a big sushi eater. The other items were good if you like buffet food we pretty much filled up on soda.
