I chose Atlas Trillo over another contractor (who quoted around $7k) because they quoted ~$12k and said it included city permits and a complete, professional installation. I expected higher quality and accountability for that price, but my experience was the opposite. Shortly after installation, we had a ceiling leak caused by improper integration with our existing heating system. This led to an additional ~$3,500 expense for a drip pan. Even after that, the issue wasn't fully resolved, and I eventually had to bring in another contractor who fixed the root problem for $1,000. More recently, the AC stopped cooling properly. The technician confidently misdiagnosed the issue as a problem with circuit breaker, and asked me to call an electrician to fix my problem. Zero stars if I could. Avoid at all costs. Installed a $27K heat pump in March 2023. It was installed by their Subsidiary from Sacramento (Beutler). It failed December 27th. As of January 12th--17 days in the coldest part of winter--still broken, still no resolution. Now Atlas Trillo is supposed to service my home but I am in "service" hell. I'm so sad to have to write a negative review but decided it's my moral responsibiltiy to share my awful experience with Atlas Trillo ["AT"] here to warn others about what they might encounter and why they should Just Say No. So, here goes. I saw an ad for a $49 HVAC "tune up" and inasmuch as my Heat+AC HVAC is more than 20 years old and hasn't been serviced since I moved in here a decade ago, getting it Tuned-Up wasn't a bad idea, even though nothing seemed to be wrong with it. [Note: I hadn't needed to use it for some months due to pleasant weather, so I can't be *positive* it was working perfectly.] The nice young man who came to inspect it told me it needed a new capacitor and a new contactor for a total price of over $800 and also recommended a refrigerant charge for $770, and a condenser coil-cleaning for $599, for a total of nearly $2,200. He clearly hoped I would sign a contract for all this but I just asked him to give me the Estimate and said I'd think about it. After he left, I realized my system didn't work! Arrgggh. I also looked carefully at what was supposed to be included in a Tune-Up (presumably not just Look At Stuff and quote a price!) and saw it was supposed to include washing the coils with water from a hose which I hadn't gotten, as opposed to a Recommendation for a $600 coil-cleaning (!). Meanwhile, I priced the two parts the tech said I needed (capacitor and contactor -- the same brands of these things that AT said they use), and learned that each of those parts retails for under $20. And fortunately, a good friend of mine who is an EE inspected these parts on the unit with his handy-dandy EE-Geek electronics equipment, found them to be in perfect working order, and told me they each take maybe 10 minutes to replace, if that; i.e., AT's tech not only told me I needed to replace perfectly good inexpensive parts for an exhorbitant cost and "recommended" an expensive coil cleaning which he was supposed to have provided as part of the $ I'd paid, but also didn't correctly diagnose what turned out to be wrong with the unit [see below]. So I reached out to AT and told them about the misdiagnosis by their Tech-#1 and his failure to hose down the coils (which was part of what they got paid for), etc., and they promptly sent Tech-#2. Tech-#2 [a] agreed there was nothing wrong with the capacitor or contactor, [b] hosed down the coils, and [c] told me he wasn't familiar enough with my system to figure out what was wrong with it (!). Ultimately, To Shorten An Inexorably Long Story, my EE friend did more testing, figured the problem appeared to be the fan motor, I got names of local Authorized Service companies from the manufacturer, got one of them to come out (if you search my reviews you'll see who it was!) and figure out what the problem was (turned out to be that motor and a circuit-board which were malfunctioning); he orderd the parts and installed them (NOT CHEAP, LOL) and now everything works fine. In addition, as one might figure out by now, he also told me I did not need any capacitor or connector or "recharge", and my coils looked fine. NB: I emailed AT with the results of this nightmare and its ultimate resolution, and they credited my $49 back to my card. read more

We called back and were given an 8am appointment for the next day. They then texted back saying that there were no actual appointments the next day, and offered an appointment for 5 days later. Nope! Rescue Rooter is apparently a subsidiary of Atlas Trillo, and doesn't have their own Yelp page, so here you go. I had Rescue Rooter out on Sept. 1 to clear the main sewer line between the home and street. $99 advertised special, boom, done. Receipt shows a 90-day warranty. Great. Fast forward 29 days and said main line backs up, meaning we can't flush, shower, launder, etc. I call back Rescue Rooter with my urgent request and the nice operator schedules me for a 6-9pm window tonight. Also tells me that because the problem is within their warranty period, the return service is free. So far so good. I get a "Your Appointment Is Confirmed!" email with an 8-11pm window. Hmm. OK, not what I was expecting, but I can wait a couple more hours. A bit later I get a call from the local dispatcher, saying they don't have anyone available until tomorrow morning. No one? No one. Can't they shuffle a less urgent problem to tomorrow morning? Sorry, the dispatcher tried calling her supervisor but they're not answering. So no. Oh, and because the first service was at the special rate, there's no warranty coverage, and I'll need to pay for the return service. Wait, what?! Ridiculous. From top to bottom, this service stinks worse than my overflowing sewer line. I know I'll pay more to have someone else come out and solve it, but I'm not giving Rescue Rooter another dime, or another chance. read more

I have a tiny outstanding bill that I'm trying to pay and it's basically impossible to do so. My property manager got sent a final notice but without an invoice or payment instructions. No link to pay online. I had my old AC and gas furnace replaced with a heat pump and air handler last month (July 2025) by Atlas Trillo. Dominick Thompson was the first company representative I met and he was terrific. He guided me through all the options, patiently explaining the installation process and the pros and cons of each of the product choices. He was never pushy, and when he left, I felt very happy to have selected Atlas Trillo for the job. He later even sent me some pictures he had taken of the old gas furnace which will be useful for submitting rebate claims to my utility company. The installation process was mostly smooth. The Atlas crew arrived on time and were courteous and careful about not tracking a lot of dirt and dust around the house. But it took them almost twelve hours to get the work done. I think there were some rookies on the team, and this may have slowed things down a bit (for example, incorrectly wiring the thermostat). But it wasn't a big deal. What was disappointing was that the air handler was apparently too snug for the space where the gas furnace had been. After calling the office to check if a slimmer version was available (it wasn't), they recommended removing a bit of the door frame. They assured me that Atlas Trillo had handymen who would later come by to patch things up if I called the office. They were going to charge me $1,000 more for the equipment than what our agreement stated, but fortunately, their accounting department was able to sort it out (after I called the next day). I also got the impression that they would remove the large media air cleaner we used to have and replace it with the 1" air filter that came with the new air handler. But after they left late that evening, I noticed they hadn't done this. But the AC was working well, and I figured that the handyman who came to patch things up would also come by with the 1" filter. My post-installation experience has been awful. I didn't receive a call from iPermit, a HERS rating company who is their subcontractor. After waiting a couple days, I got in touch with iPermit and and scheduled an appointment for later this month. I called to make an appointment for the handyman to come in. I was able to pick a day and given an 8am - noon window. I worked from home that day, waiting for someone to show up. No luck. I called again and was given a new appointment. Again, no show! I called once again and the agent apologized for the slip and promised to escalate things before giving me a third appointment (for this morning). But once again, no one showed up. I even called them today to confirm someone was going to show up, and they assured me this was going to happen. So the AC works (and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the system will heat my home properly this winter). But the door to the closet with the air handler still needs to be fixed. And goodness knows when (if ever) I will get any help with the 1" air filter (or if they will close the media air cleaner I originally had). Three strikes and you are out, guys. read more

Overpriced Anthony, Atlas tech, came out to diagnose our furnace which quit producing hot air. He said we needed a new furnace. Their salesman then called and quoted a price of $12,000! We said NO to that and got a second opinion. The second company came out and said the filters needed to be replaced. After he did the work to replace filters the furnace worked fine. I asked what he would have charged if we really needed a new furnace. He quoted $4600.00. So with this information I would strongly encourage anyone out there to avoid Atlas Trillo at all costs. Most hvac repair companies charge about $190/hour.This company charged $225/hour for rookie, novice, workers who didn't seem to know what they were doing.In fact, they had to leave the site for hours--going to the nearest town, which was more than twenty eight miles away round trip to buy more materials twice !! then the more experienced partner left for a long lunch leaving the rookie to figure out things on his own, ...which was fixing a minor leak or two and refilling refrigerant in the heat pump. I was charged nearly three thousand dollars for this simple maintenance?Mostly because of labor costs. I am writing this to warn any families in the Bay Area, especially those with young children. Atlas Trillo (ARS/Rescue Rooter) has left my family without heat for over 14 days during peak winter, despite our home having a 2-month-old infant. 1. Catastrophic Product Quality: We have had this heat pump system for less than a year, and it has already failed FOUR TIMES (April 2025, August 2025, December 2025, and February 2026). This is not just a "lemon" unit; it is a sign of incompetent installation and substandard equipment. 2. Gross Negligence & Disappearing Management: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our heater failed on February 3, 2026. Since then, my spouse and I have called them EVERY SINGLE DAY. Every time, the dispatcher promises that a "manager will call back." Horrible service!! We got a brand new heat pump from them during summer. Come winter it turns out that heat pump is not efficiently heating. The service guy from atlas trillo comes to check it and turns it completely off, that too a day before thanksgiving. And now there is no one available to come fix it. This is your warning. I am thousands in debt after a bad installation and improper fixes have left me with a headache and non-working AC. Gonna spare you the sob story and hit you with the highlights. 1. Bought a new system 2. They installed it wrong, including not hooking up the variable speed wiring. 3. They broke the HVAC during install and tried to glue it back together (a brand new system). 4. The condenser water pan is leaking. Your logical thought would be, should be covered under warranty right? But would you trust them to "fix" these issues when they blatantly hide and improperly installed the system in the first place? I got two independent quote to tell me what's wrong. I also got the city inspector telling me the system failed inspection. So that leaves me with more bills to get this fixed right. I've tried escalating this to their management/owner and I've been told "that's not possible" You cannot trust this company. I would strongly recommend avoiding Atlas Trillo. I hired them for a standard HVAC tune-up, and it has turned into a massive headache that remains unresolved. During the initial appointment, the technician didn't even bother to look at the outdoor unit. Shortly after he left, my heating system began acting up. Now, even when the heater turns off and the fan setting is set to "auto" or "off"--and I even confirmed this by removing the thermostat entirely--the fan continues to run for 30 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The worst part has been the "customer service." I scheduled a follow-up appointment for them to fix the issue they caused, and they simply never showed up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have called twice to follow up; both times I was told the matter was being "escalated to the scheduling and escalation department," yet I have received zero communication and no technician has arrived.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Save yourself the time and the stress. Pablo and Gabriel did a great job. They were expecting a pretty easy swap in and swap out of our old furnace. However due to the age of our furnace they were unable to find the same one. Due to this they installed an upgraded furnace free of charge. They also had to do additional work on the roof/ceiling in order to make everything work. They were expecting to finish at our house around 1PM but due to the changes they stayed until 5PM to make sure everything was in working order before they left. And they worked efficiently the entire time they were here. They also arranged subsequent inspections of their work so we did not have to do it ourselves. They dealt mostly with my mom who English is sufficient but not great but they did great job of making sure she understood every step of the process. read more

He gave an honest knowledgable assessment with pictures and thorough explanations. He didn't try to upsell, or swindle/convince me I needed anything urgently. Called for repair on my air conditioning unit. They sent out a nice man who told me it could be repaired for $6,000 or a new one for $8,000. I was upset but then remembered I had a warranty on the unit. When I told the man he immediately said that I should have the company that installed it fix it. He said he would email the results of his inspection, but never did. I paid for the service call and he left. Today Luis from the company who installed the air came out. He said I don't need a new unit and all that is wrong is some insulation needs to be replaced. The guy from Atlas Trillo must be working on commission. Trying to take advantage of a senior citizen is not a good business plan. I hope Atlas reads this review. read more
