We immediately take it back to the counter, and the woman who served us called the manager named Cisco over. He called the owner of the store and then instead of giving her a new card with an intact code, he told her to call customer service. Wtf. My friend then asked for a refund since now this was a hassle, and he refused. He spoke very slowly and had a bad attitude, showed no understanding. It was evident that the code was missing characters, and despite being a franchise, they would not refund my friend. So basically she paid $52 for nothing. What a joke of a "business".

On my first visit, I got a parmesan cheese pretzel (fun food!), mini pretzels stuffed with mozzarella cheese (yum!), and a delicious pretzel dog. I had made an account on the Pretzelmaker app, so, they rewarded me $3 on my next purchase. I went back and got the mini pretzel dogs. Gosh! They were better than I expected! Not too salty and not too greasy! I think I can do without the sprinkled salt on the outside (note to self). I guess I'm lucky that Pretzelmaker is at Windward Mall in Kaneohe. There's free parking, cool air conditioning, and nice carpeting! This was such a pleasant experience! I still have a balance on the e-gift card and the app gave me another bonus of $5 off! Woot woot! I searched my Yelp app and saw that there were TWO Auntie Anne's locations at Pearlridge Mall. I know I've been to the one by Starbucks and the Food Court at "Uptown". I ended up there and asked where the "Downtown" Pearlridge location was... I parked on the side of the mall by Gen and Uncle's... across from Pali Momi Medical Center. Ahhh... I usually park by Longs and ride the escalator up. This is the level with TonyMoly and Dunkin. The theater is above this level. (Note: this mall is complex to me.) Sean was the efficient and friendly worker who greeted me right away and wanted to start my order. I told him that I was going to get the free Pretzel for National Pretzel Day... he packaged it right away with some napkins. Sean asked the customer ahead of me about how he found the QR code on the app - since it was challenging for me to find it. The customer helped me get my free Pretzel! Thank you! It was warm, soft, and yummy! I like the littled bits of salt... not too much, but just right! The manager was making fresh pretzels... she rolled the dough, cut it, and twirled it around. She made it look so easy! Wow! This was a great find! I didn't notice this location of Auntie Anne's... and it's been here since the mall opened! LOL! Learning everyday!!!

Was enjoying that while driving to my appointment. I thought I was pressed for time, but my take out order came to me super quickly, and that's what impressed me the most! Unfortunately, something has changed recently and you can see it throughout recent reviews here, which tells me this is a taught practice by management and not just one shady server. Mainly, being up charged or sold "extras" without disclosing they're actually add ons. Our table of 4 had 3 different sandwiches, 2 burgers and a chicken sandwich. While ordering the server offered each of us, "would you like fries, onion rings, or salad with that?" There was no disclosure of it being additional, and she never used the words add ons or extras. When the bill was received, all 3 that received the sandwiches and "sides" were shocked to see upcharges (example $5.00 extra for 1/4 cup of greens and 2 slices of cucumber) when we were being offered these with our orders. When I asked the server about the charge, I asked why it wasn't disclosed it was extra, and that we only answered her question of which side we wanted because she offered as if it was included, her responses were baffling. The first was "There's nowhere on island that serves fries with a sandwich", to which I said, "but you didn't say it was extra, you offered them as if they were included", she said "it's written on the menu". To note: fries, onion rings, and side salads are listed on the menu, in their own section, separate from the sandwich sections. So while it is written, they know exactly what they're doing when they offer you sides or sauces, and you can see other recent reviews here making the same complaint. This left an extra bad taste for our table as we had come in to help support them after the recent tropical storm left them without power. We were excited to participate in a local event they were hosting and help support them after losing stock and days being closed from the storm, just to have this shady process of being upsold things we didn't order (on a $350+ bill that also included shirts from their merch store). Scuzzy way of thanking your community for coming in and patronizing your restaurant. Really disappointed after years of Hana Koa being my favorite place.

A little overseasoned I thought. And cheddar cheese should not go on tacos. - Katsu chair siu - 5/10: Normally you'd get this traditional dish in pork or chicken. But they used char siu here. Wasn't working for me. - Fries with char siu on top - 4/10: meh. Char siu and fries don't go well with each other, especially when you drizzle teriyaki-type sauce on top. Too sweet that there's a bit of an imbalance in flavor. They also had open mic karaoke here. Crowd was kinda dead, so we tried to liven them up with a familiar country tune. Didn't work. Oh well. It's mid-week and we can't sing, so... Anyway, this isn't a bad spot to grab some brews and a few things to munch on. Onto the next.
