I appreciate a good Asian fusion but can't say this meal did that category any justice. First of all I didn't get any dumplings because I can already tell all of them are very likely just store bought from the freezer section and just steamed or fried. I ordered a couple drinks which were fine, but food was a huge disappointment. Brussels & shishito - these were just swimming in oil, need to fry these at a higher temp and drain better before serving. Also definitely could have done with a squeeze of lemon because it was so heavy from all that fat Gochujang wings - pretty crispy but not spicy, I thought these were so salty. Maybe a touch of honey, sesame, and ginger could improve these. Duck noodle soup - first of all, why are these served with stir fry noodles? The texture of the noodles was so mushy and had no chew. The tiny amount of soup this was served in was so salty, and there were probably only 2 leaves of bok choy total in my bowl. Service is nearly non existent, you order by QR code at your table and they bring out food/drinks about 15-20 mins later. The nice part about this is being able to pay your bill on your phone whenever you're ready though and just leave on your own schedule. If you absolutely must come here, the upstairs tea room is so pretty, and definitely a lot less chaotic than the downstairs. Definitely need to make a reservation to come here! read more

This Dim Sum, Asian Fusion Bar has a DJ that spins in the evenings, Thursday - Sunday and the moody lighting gives this spot a swanky vibe! We visited Băo Brewhouse on Friday for dinner and sat at the bar in the upstairs Tea Room. The downstairs of Băo Brewhouse is a Tap Room where you can enjoy street food & beers on tap while the Tea Room upstairs is a more boujee, curated concept with authentic Chinese dishes & creative cocktails. The Tea Room is where the DJ spins. My fiance and I shared a couple of appetizers including the DIY Veggie Rolls and the EV-erything Mushroom Dumplings. The DIY Lettuce Wrap Veggie Roll comes with bibb lettuce, cilantro, jalapeno, Thai basil, pickled Bao vegetables, tri-color fresno peppers, daikon sprouts, treasure sauce, and Chinese mustard. These were not only tasty, but fun to customize! This appetizer was a big hit and we'll order this again in the future. The EV-erything Mushroom Dumplings are made with shiitake mushrooms, tofu, cabbage, carrots, water chestnuts, green onions, cilantro, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. The appetizer came with 5 dumplings and we appreciated that Băo Brewhouse offers a vegetarian appetizer. For entrees, we ordered the Governor Baozhen's Fried Rice and the Whole Fried Snapper. The Governor Baozhen's is made with a mushroom mix, shishito peppers, scallions, fried rice, pistachio, daikon sprouts, try-color peppers, furikake seasoning, garlic, ginger, sambal hoisin and kung pao sauce. This entree has a generous portion size and left us with leftovers. We enjoyed this fried rice and would order again. The Whole Fried Snapper was definitely the star of the show with its enormous portion size, enough for more than 2. The Snapper had a kick, but was not overly spicy. The exterior of the snapper was majorly fried adding some delicious crunch while the interior of the snapper was tender and flaky. Although we typically reserve a table, sitting at this bar was fun and entertaining. Our bartender was very knowledgable with the menu guiding us on what to order from drinks to bites, alongside our dietary preferences. He convinced us to order dessert and it did not disappoint. Pictured is the Chocolate Crepe Cake and the Creme Brulee Cheesecake with salted caramel gelato. I'd recommend the crepe cake over the cheesecake if I had to choose one, but both were delicious! What a fun surprise to find in Denver, a city that I generally don't expect much Asian food/drinks from. A place that serves baijiu is already getting kudos from me. Only real ones will know haha. Dim sum restaurant x brewhouse is a fantastic combination! The restaurant is divided into two sections: the casual downstairs decorated with funky Asian-style graffiti & definitely has a more brewery vibe, whereas the upstairs is the more formal tea room with private tables & cushion seating. Cute for the ambience and drinks, but that's about it. We ordered several things and the main takeaway is that the food is very far from authentic and is heavier/greasier and sweeter than it should be. I will say the drunken empress noodles were good and had that nice char flavor drunken noodles should have, but we didn't enjoy anything else and felt the food was so greasy it upset our stomachs. We tried bluefin tuna crispy rice which was ok but very heavy on mayonnaise and lacking the fresh factor, xiao long bao which were ok but again greasy, and the vinegar they served it with was also greasy and sweet and was definitely not Chinese black vinegar, big on the pig which were ok but greasy and nothing special, veggie spring rolls which were decent, and the hot and sour which was very sweet and did not taste like hot and sour. Everything had flavor and if you don't eat a lot of Asian food it probably tastes good, the flavors just weren't Chinese flavors. There are just better fusion places with higher quality more authentic flavors. It is also VERY overpriced for the quality of food you are getting, and I understand you are more so paying for the ambiance. We also had to order everything ourselves via QR, did not have a consistent waiter regularly checking on us and had several dishes brought out by different runners - which is not necessarily an issue but then when you go to pay the suggested tip ranged from like 20%_ -25%. I regularly tip an absolute minimum of 20% when I dine out and I also recognize this kind of practice is becoming quite common, but it is sort of a turnoff to be defaulted to an even higher suggested tip when you are not even receiving a full service experience. This place has been on our list for a while and we randomly ended up going on a Tuesday night, not knowing they offer an all you can eat dumpling special on Tuesdays. Since we were a walk in, we sat downstairs where this special is not offered. The waitress came over pretty immediately, however, after that we saw her when she dropped her drinks off and then never again. It took over an hour for our empty water glasses to be filled (not by the server), and throughout the entire hour plus dining experience, not one dirty dish was cleared. This was particularly challenging as we were at a shared table with other couples and thus did not have the space to move things around. The concept is family style, however these portions are very small and the price is quite high for what you get. We ordered the shrimp cracklings, spicy yaki-soba noodles, char sui bao, and Philly cheesesteak dumplings and split it between two people. We both agreed the yaki-soba noodles were our favorite and very flavorful, followed by the Philly cheesesteak dumplings. The char sui bao was decent, but lacking on filling and the shrimp cracklins were basically like eating air hah. These four things, a glass of wine and beer amounted out to $77. Come to find out (after tipping and paying), an additional 4% was added onto the tax to be shared with the kitchen staff. Before paying, we both agreed this seemed like a place that would have this additional fee and we would rather tip them than front of house due to the poor service. My husband and I stopped in right when they open for lunch while we were visiting Denver for the weekend. While I would have loved to enjoy the upstairs Tea Room, I'm glad we were seated in the Tap Room on the main floor. More light and a brighter vibe. Upstairs felt dim but sultry. Because my friend was pregnant, multiple staff members congratulated her and made sure she had comfortable seating, replacing her backless chair with something that had a back. I personally started my meal with a delicious lychee martini (could have had a few of those) but tempered myself before the show. We ordered a few different items from the menu: * Beef Xiao Long Bao * Sweet-Soy Pork Belly Bao * Chun-Li (Soup Dumplings) * Drunken Empress (with Tofu) My favorite thing was the noodles! Upon entering the space, there was no one at the counter to welcome us and get us seated but not sure if that was the usual. Upon sitting down, a server approached us and she was lovely. She recommended a lot of great food since it was our first time here. The interiors showcased a hip and Asian contemporary ambiance with some traditional elements sprinkled throughout the space which I absolutely adore. There's a dragon on the ceiling that served as the a/c pipe, which I think was pretty cool. We usually love xia long bao (soup dumpling) but the AYCE dumpling Tuesday (at tea room) was quiet disappointing. We stopped in the Bao Brewhouse for a quick bite before we went bowling and this place does NOT let you down. From the outside you can tell this is going to be a unique spot. But when you walk in and see the bar and the unique foods being served, there is no going back. We ordered a bunch of foods to share across the table with friends. On top of the list- the Wu Wang wings. These were gone instantly. We tried all the sauces and kept a them on the table for later. The Shoshito's & Brussels was amazing. The heat is perfect. And you can tell it is perfectly balanced with sweet hints, acidic lemon juice and the Brussel base. AMAZING! The pork buns were so good we ordered a second plate- and the BYO lettuce wrap veggie rolls were perfect. We even used the sweet fish sauce vinaigrette was perfect to use again and again. We couldn't get enough of these dishes. Lastly make sure you pop in for happy hour. The guys enjoyed the beers at a super sweet deal! But on top of that, the bartender was amazing and let me make some customizations to their drinks. While I was super enticed to try the warriors last stand- I don't love tequila. One of my fave spots to take friends or celebrate! - Chai tea (not on the menu --yet!) it has a delicious floral flavor. It was so good my friend wanted to buy some from Ku Cha to take back to NY with her - The Duck: I'm obsessed with Duck, but it's not always good. They get a nice crisp outer layer, it's tender inside! The bao is a little sweet, but the veges that come with it help balance the flavors - Mongolian fried rice: simply delicious. Other parts of the meal, whether noodles or buns were OK. Upstairs is beautiful but the stairs and bathroom are so dark, it's damn near impossible to see or to find the hand drier. We didn't have reservations and were sat downstairs. There is a second level which I'm assuming you'll need reservations for with an extended menu. We sat on a bar type seating against the window. There was a QR code on the wall to be able to start your order. Someone came by to give us waters and plates/chopsticks. We were able to order and keep the tab open so that we controlled what we got first. However, things didn't come in the order we thought. We also were missing something and had to flag someone down to ask about it - which kept us there longer than expected. We got the pork Bao bun, garlic fried rice, prawn skewers, and Shishito peppers & Brussels. The food was delicious. My fiancé mentioned that the Brussels were the best he's ever had and he doesn't even like Brussels. There was lemon juice on them so that helped add lots of flavor. They had me at Asian Fusion! The atmosphere was fun. Loved how they painted a dragon on the HVAC! The server, Dane, was superb! He has many recommendations for Dim Sum. Big on the Pig was amazing! I had the Drunken Empress which was pretty spicy, yum! My son had the Spicy Yaki-Soba which was even better. Came here to celebrate my friends bachelorette and the ambiance is nice! They have two floors for this place. Originally we started downstairs since you would need a reservation for the tea room(upstairs) but we asked the waiter if there is any open table? There was! ( super nice of them to do that last min) our server was great (I forgot his name but he went over the menu and answered any questions we had) The food was good but one little issue with the xiao long bao (soup dumplings) there was no soup in it... overall everything was good! read more

Don't waste your time or money. $30 AYCE Tuesdays: - It's only for pork and mushroom soup dumplings - Mushroom dumplings are atrocious - Dumpling dough is grossly thick and gummy - They limit you at 90 mins to dine, but our first round came out 35 mins after we ordered it - Your first order can be 8 dumplings, but after that they only serve 4 at a time We were afraid we wouldn't have enough time to eat and be full so we ordered the Mongolian Wagyu fried rice and Bok Choy & shiitake mushroom. Big mistake. The Wagyu fried rice was a joke. There was very little rice in it that was so crunchy, it was like they used the overcooked remains from a day old pot. The chili peppers are roasted, but the skin was not removed. Amateur move for $29 fried rice. The Bok Choy and shiitake was an interesting attempt at a stir fry, I think? It was greasy and overcooked. The positives: nice decor and ambiance. It's really loud however If you plan on having conversations without yelling. read more
