Wow! I came across this place when going to sushi nearby. I will definitely be back. Really nice patio with a clean aesthetic for dates or with group of friends. I only had the Mac and cheese since we already ate but it was very good. The brussel sprouts smelled amazing and I definitely want to get more food next time. I had a beer and my girlfriend had an espresso martini she really liked as she said it was more creamy. They have an open bar option for 90 min that sounds very fun. I love all the Bacari locations.. but PDR is such a great vibe! The outside patio is very cozy and a great atmosphere to have an amazing meal. The menu is extensive, but my favorites are the shawarma tacos, Mediterranean street corn and chicken sliders. Service is excellent and drinks always hit the spot. I really love the strawberry fields fizz but they have a lot of great options. Outdoor patio can get chilly so dress appropriately in the winter. Highly recommend giving Bacari a visit. read more

Had no idea Bacari did brunch but I'm not surprised they do it amazingly well. The food is always an incredible feast; smaller plates so tapas to share with friends a bite or three, but you never leave hungry. The flavors are always incredible, some things border on too decadent and rich, but never cross that boundary. Everything just feels good as you eat it. The same could be said for brunch; while we went a little bit more savory for this meal, we topped it off with a French toast sweet for dessert. The watermelon salad was a great surprise, didn't expect the crème fraîche and pickled watermelon rind to work so incredibly well together, but hey, that's why I'm not the head chef here. The wings, the meat fell from the bone. The Chilaquiles look like dripping nachos, but whatever sauce they put on top was so yummy I actually literally licked the bowl. So it's good that we had friendly service who treated us well. Dani was knowledgeable, available, friendly and attentive. We were never without food or drink for long. As for the ambience, what can you say it marries the best of Playa Del Rey's old salty local feel with the tiniest bit of modern elegance of American Gastro. Bacari is always one of my favorites in LA, and now that I know they do all meals of the day, I'll be coming pretty much anytime knowing I'll have an amazing meal. read more

My friend and I went to Bacari PDR for Friday brunch. Cute spot and all, but no parking. You'll have to find street parking. Food- we got the little gem salad, it was good, wish it had a little more dressing to it. Got the shawarma tacos--you can get 3 or 4 tacos. These were pretty good. Lastly, we got the bacon and Brie jalapeño pizza, more like a flat bread. Also very good. Service- it seemed like there was only one waitress with a big party next to us and as time passed more people came. But service was alright, it wasn't great it wasn't horrible either. We went here for a group brunch for a party of around 10 people. We were very excited for this as I heard great things. The food overall was above average, with dishes being quite tasty, the portion sizes were a little small though. The ambience is also nice as had great outdoor space. Major complaint here was a service. We were not looked after at all, which is quite disappointing, especially when they automatically charge a 20% service fee with the large group. Our server did not come back at all to check in on us, It took him over 40 minutes in between orders to come back. We did opt for the bottomless drink package which was not worth it at all for us as the server never came by to even refilled the drinks. Overall four out of five stars for the food and ambience, one out of five stars for the service. read more

Best food and drinks! Brandon the server and Ava the host were the sweetest people ever. Brandon was one of the sweetest servers I've ever had, he took care of everything we needed and really stepped up above the other servers. Not to mention mention the servers amazing attitudes, they both went above and beyond to take care of my commonly and not taken seriously diet restriction. Ava the host came and checked over at our table multiple times, she was the pinnacle of customer service. Besides the service, the food truly was great and the ambience was even better. Would totally recommend this place any day of the week, and props to them for training the employees so well. 9.5/10 read more

I love Bacari! This is not my first time coming but this is always a "must go to" stop whenever I'm in LA. If you love tapas, good food, good service, and cute ambiance then this is for you. Must haves: Asian pear pizza (trust me, this is the best), the sea bass, and the best cake ever. If the lamb hummus is available I'd recommend grabbing that too! Pass: pork belly (a bit too charred/salty for me), lettuce cups (not enough flavor), broccoli (it's ok but I'd try another veggie instead I'm not a huge drinker but the cocktails here are also great if that's a plus for you! read more

this is the best place to come any day of the week. the service is exquisite, the food is delicious, the drinks are classic with a twist, and the ambience is amazing. we went for a date night and wanted to try some new dishes that we had not had prior as well as keep it classic. but to first start, the ambience is amazing, even when its cold our you are able to sit and enjoy the balcony/deck. they have many many strong heaters that will quickly warm you up. drinks: man in a yellow hat: a great bourbon or whiskey drink with a lovely slice of banana inside for a nice twist subtle socal: a great mocktail with a wedge of watermelon! as for the food: kale tuscan salad: this was our first time trying this and it was interesting to say the least and that we probably wont be ordering it again. the dressing was just too thick for our liking. bread and garlic olive oil dip: this is an absolute must and its one of the most delicious olive oils I have ever had at a restaurant burrata: we have gotten the burrata prior and this is the most elite barrata one can get. it is just so beyond delicious as a starter mac and cheese: an absolute must, the crispy breadcrumbs make for the perfect crisp petite fillet: seemed to be about 3-4oz of sliced filet (we got it cooked medium) and it was mouthwatering with a subtle bernaise sauce and grilled zucchini made it a great dish pasta dish: if you do not like spicy food, this one is not for you. we underestimated the amount of spice (we do not like spicy food) and unfortunately were unable to eat it as it was too much of a kick for us. but if the spiciness had not been there we think it would have been delicious brussels sprouts: another absolute must!! we get the creme fraiche on the side and its delicious to be able to dunk it in! ask for a lemon on the side for some acidity! bread pudding: again, our first time trying it and it was delicious and a perfect way to top off the night, just be cautious as it plate and the bread pudding is hot for quite some time before you can really enjoy it needless to say, we are eager to make this our go-to restaurant. read more

I love Bacari PDR! I moved to this area a little whileago and have been looking for a great restaurant to frequent and bring friends to and now I've finally found it! The food is incredible and the service is even better! My server Trevor was incredible, he helped me pick out the best dishes and I was more than satisfied. Micai was also great and made me feel right at home. Those two definitely sold the place and made me want to come back again :). The space is so welcoming and comfortable. Absolutely loved this place! The food was amazing!! the shrimp ceviche was fresh and flavorful, and the chicken schnitzel was hands down one of the best I've had. We also did the open bar, which was totally worth it  mimosas and sangrias kept flowing the whole time. Shoutout to our server Becky she was fantastic. I came here with a group of ~9 coworkers and was pleasantly surprised that they were willing to take a same day reservation and accommodate for us. The service was great for handling a large party and the outdoor space is nice and cozy. This ended up being one of my favorite places that I've tried in LA and was reasonably affordable for the quality! The stand-outs included the asian pear and brie pizza ($14) -- this was one of the top 3 pizzas that I've ever had because of the blend of toppings. They even used some guava fromage with it so it was such a nice blend of savory and sweet. I really enjoyed the oaxacan pasta ($13) and the mussels because both had a unique sauce. Especially for the mussels, we were literally scraping the sauce off the bowl to finish it. I'm also usually not an olive person, but I really liked theirs. Other dishes I enjoyed were the shrimp ceviche ($14), scallops ($17), petit filet ($14), glazed pork belly ($14), and smoked mushroom pizza ($14). The only one I would probably pass on next time is the burrata caprese ($13) because it didn't wow me. For desserts, the best cake you've ever had ($8.50) is actually that. It's super unique tasting and lightly sweetened by dates -- I was surprised by how much I liked the taste. The bread pudding ($8.50) is solid if you want a classic, but the mahlabi ($8.50) was way too rose water-y and tasted like soap to me. Overall, would definitely come here again and split more tapas with more people! read more

Went on a Saturday afternoon on the day before mother's day to celebrate all the mom's in the family. We were a party of 7 and made a reservation. Unfortunately we were late for the reservation so we had to wait about 30-40min to be seated. It was pretty busy and their seating is pretty limited on their small patio. They also only have 1 restroom for everyone so there is always a line. Their menu on the weekends is only brunch until 3pm or something like that. They have a lot of items to choose from and we tried a lot of them. Each item is a small plate that you can get a few of to share or maybe just 2 items per person. We did it family style and just ordered a few of all the things we wanted. We tried their tacos, potatoes and chicken, their crab cakes, shakshuka, egg pizza, pancakes, burger, fries, and salad. We also got some watermelon margaritas, lattés, and one of their green mocktails. Everything was delicious and we all enjoyed ourselves. Pizza and pancakes were my favorites. Potato tacos are also highly recommended. Parking is always challenging around that area. We found a spot by the park nearby. I saw on maps that their was a parking area nearby but didn't see it when we were driving. Staff their is knowledgeable and friendly. They all work together so no 1 person is responsible for your table, which actually made things move quicker from my perspective. Hope you check it out soon and enjoy! read more

Recently I went and enjoyed the fabulous drinks and food they had but what truly made my experience was our server, Magali she was absolutely a delight and made our visit just that more special.
