I usually go to the one right in front of my office in Newport, but today I came to the Century City location, and it's just as fantastic. The staff is friendly, the place is spotless, and everything tastes fresh. I always get either the chocolate or the coffee flavor both are insanely good. We each got one scoop, and man, it's so creamy, rich, and delicious it almost doesn't make sense. You can tell they use quality ingredients because it melts slow and tastes smooth all the way through. If you're nearby, stop in it's the perfect little treat that never disappoints. read more

The gelato isn't cheap, but you're paying for the quality. The gelato from here is reminiscent of the gelato I've had in Italy a few years back so I personally love it. However, yesterday's visit was very disappointing...the employee who was assisting us was not welcoming at all and seemed very impatient, due to my two younger kids who have very different palates and love trying new flavors. At the register another employee just handed us the waffle cones due to their mistake. They responded by saying oh sorry we can't put it in a cone now! $30+ dollars later...never again! Their employees need better training. I was in line and when it was my turn, I stepped up and asked for a sample of the Belgium crunch since it was a new flavor and began to say I'd like a caramel and cafe scoop. However I was cut in front of by an older white woman. She raised her voice and ordered a cone. The sales lady immediately began making her order. I tried to have patience but then her two friends cut in front and began to place their offer after her. I tried to get the employees attention and she ignored me. When she was almost done serving the three women, another employee came out of the back and started to take my order. I expressed how I was frustrated by the treatment and she just looked at me helplessly. I'm not going to say it was explicitly because they were three white women and I was a younger black woman but it definitely felt like I was dismissed and overlooked. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Also when you pay almost $9 for two small scoops of gelato, you'd think they'd be able to afford cups and tops that fit. The employee filled a TINY cup past the brim and then stuffed a lid on it so the top flavor gushed out. By the time I drove home with my ice cream, it had melted all over the place and was just a mess. Serve the ice cream in appropriate sized bowls. It's just ridiculous. read more

They explain each flavor's uniqueness to us and let us try a sample of each. There is no seating inside the store FYI. Their gelato do melt really quickly, but they are not super sweet. Gelato We got the regular size for about $10 and it included up to 3 different flavors. We got the coffee, triple chocolate, and olive oil flavors. They have new flavors every so often but I recommend these 3 if available. The gelato is so creamy and rich with flavor. It's a little more expensive but I think it's worth it for the flavor and creaminess of the gelato. Overall, highly recommend trying them out if at the mall. The service was top-notch. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offered samples and they were patient when I was making my decision. I went with the vanilla on a waffle cone. It was perfect! They offer seating in a really nice outdoor space. You can enjoy your treat there or roam throughout the mall with it. The only critique I have for ice cream places is how they store their product in an ideal temperature. This place does it VERY well. I can say that the customer service All Star here who exhibited an incredible amount of patience and diligence with regards to giving samples amidst a huge crowd and still took care of us in a personalized type of manner net was named Elwuin. Having a gluten allergy, I asked "is this gluten free" and BOTH times, by different people, was told "I think so" with zero action to find out. To the managers: I HIGHLY suggest you train your employees on the allergens in the products and/or give them an easy "cheat sheet" to reference. And outside of allergens, I strongly urge you talk about having a welcoming personality as the two I've experienced were the exact opposite.
