I have been here several times since this burger joint opened, and I can say the quality has been consistently good! The burgers here are very simple. The burger I got the last time I was there has only cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and diced onions for toppings. But I think the simplicity is what helps this place stand out. The buns are soft and the patties have a nice crispy crunch around the edges. I don't like the waffle fries, but this is just my preference. They are crunchy and flaky, and don't have much flavor to me. I would take the Chick-fil-A waffle fries over these fries any day. Seating is a bit limited inside, but there is an outdoor eating area that would be pleasant to eat at when it's not summertime. read more

Glad to see that Phoenix continues to get cool restaurants like this into the dining scene. I ordered the double burger and it was just a good old classic smash burger. They got the patties super thin with the crispy charred edges just the way a good smash burger should be. The sauce was pretty good and the onions were nicely flavored into the patty. Bun was really soft and nicely toasted. My only issue was the price. I mean obviously I really enjoyed the burger but 12 bucks is a little steep. If a party of 2 came here you can easily be dropping close to 50 bucks for a burger, fries, and a drink. Other than the price, burger was great and would recommend checking them out. read more

My job took me to downtown Phoenix. I heard Bad Jimmy's was a cool spot to check out. It worked out to stop in for lunch. I was there just before the lunch rush, which was nice. I ordered what the staff said was their best known burger and also ordered a side of fries. Overall the burger was solid, had good flavor and was filling! Really great simple food and at great price! Bar is attached right next to the restaurant with some great cocktails and beer. Really friendly staff also making the whole experience feel great. I am so happy I visited Bad Jimmy's. The burger was fantastic! There's a crispy edge and oozing cheese. Then the thinly sliced onions are grilled into the burger to perfection. They topped it with a thousand island sauce and ketchup, which I am not a huge fan of. The burger was so delicious i didn't even notice it was there till I was half done. By then i didn't care. This place is nothing special. You have to get a double burger just to get a regular sized amount of meat! Plus the meat had a slab of fried grease attached that I had to peel off and chuck out. No real flavor to the pickles and onions spread either. The best part was their well done fries, which is kind of sad. The seating options in the restaurant are abysmal. However, I was disappointed that mayonnaise was not an option. I hate ketchup or mustard on my burger. So I opted to have no sauce at all on my burger, therefore making it a little dry. I was also disappointed that there were no toppings available for the burger, such as tomato or lettuce. If I'm paying $12 for a burger I would like to have some toppings on it, not just pickles and onions. I didn't order any fries. They have waffle fries and I'm not a fan of waffle fries.
