It's been so long, my hands and feet miss getting my mani-pedi. Let me start of by saying that that yes, I get mani-pedi. I am my mother's son and she's been in this business for over 20 years. My partner and I have been wanting to go get mani-pedi's together for a couple of weeks, but we never had the time, until recently. We searched yelp for some local places, and found two. We decided to give this place a try. My partner hadn't had a mani-pedi in a couple of years, so I wanted to make sure to get her pampered a little bit, so we got the spa pedi. Each of us got two technicians working on us. I got a mother-daughter team, which was interesting. The mother was very happy to see me, apparently it had been a long time since she's had a customer that spoke Vietnamese (she doesn't speak English). Cost isn't bad either, $40 for the spa mani-pedi, which I think is worth it! My partner decided to get gel done on her nails, which was an additional $35. All the ladies were very polite, and very happy that they had a client that could speak Vietnamese to them. I don't think they have many, especially on the Westside. All in all, I'd go back. I'll make sure to post and update on the gel nails also...seems that is a hit and miss according to the other reviews. read more

$50.00 for a pedicure? That's what they charged my 81 year old mother who just wanted a simple pedicure, no polish nothing fancy. Without her approval nor knowledge they started adding boloni treatments, it's not the money as much as the courtesy of asking and letting one know of the extra charges. That is unacceptable to take advantage of an older person just like that. Furthermore the person paying right after us also was shocked at what she had to pay. Not a good practice, very unethical. I had a gel manicure and regular pedicure. Both my manicure (Dusk til Dune OPI 2021 Malibu Collection)and pedicure lasted over a month until my nails had grown and there was too much outgrowth. I was very satisfied with the service, the results, how long the polish lasted (it could've gone even longer if my nails hadn't grown), and the wide selection of colors was awesome! She had so many choices of colors (even newly released OPI colors) that there was not enough room to display and many colors were still in boxes. Thank you! read more

I've come to realize that there are far and few really good nail salons that I can rely on to get the job done and exceed my expectations. Heather's Nail Salon is one of them! I have to admit, living in Woodland Hills can sometimes prove difficult staying consistent with appointments, and any time I falter I find myself regretting it always making my way back! If you're wondering what it is that keeps me going back, it's the silk wrap ... and no I am not an old lady! Lol. Minh is AMAZING and I've been getting my silk wraps by her for two years. However, just recently I discovered that Heather is as good! For the first time Heather did my silk wrap as Minh is traveling. Came for a pedicure and Helen was amazing. My heels have been so rough lately even though I've been applying lotion and socks before bed each night. I never get pedicures or manicures but I was going on vacation and I wanted my feet to look nice. I warned them that my feet were horrible and if it was possible to do acrylic tips on the toes. She said yes then quoted me a price of $65 for the full set. I agreed and another woman began to prep my feet for the nails, or so I thought. The original woman told me to come back the following day so that she could put on the tips because this woman who was working on my feet doesn't know how. I asked how much it was to pay her and be done with it and she said $30. A customer said I should come back because it was worth the wait. So basically I just wasted 45 minutes for a foot rub and a clean up of my toenails. Bullshit, But I figured I already wasted my time and I was not going to go to another nail salon to go through the whole process again. . I returned the next day and the woman asked me to pick out a color which I did. She said oh yeah that one's $25 more. Another woman had to explain it was because it was a gel. How the fuck do I know if I never get my nails done? Now getting to the actual acrylic tips. First they were placed crooked and looked like they are peeling up off the original toenail. So far two have ripped off due to snagging on things while walking by, some thing that would never happen with the job well done. I basically wasted $82 which was the nail set and tip and now I am going on vacation with two Jenkee toenails. This place is horrible. It is newly opened and I am hoping it will shut down just as quickly. Do not support this business. There are so many other better salons even a couple of blocks away from them. read more

I got a gel manicure removed and a pedicure done at heather's nail lounge. I was so impressed with how detail oriented they were. Also, I loved that they used the power nail filer to remove the gel rather than the scrape/soak method which is often uncomfortable and leaves your nails weak. Everything was very clean. The lady who did my gel mani and pedi was very nice, and took her time, but it did take 2 full hours. At the end, I asked the lady in charge (owner?) to break a $10 bill for me. She started getting mad at me, and was raising her voice, telling me that the lady spent 2 hrs with me, and loudly asked how much I was going to tip her-at this point, I had everyone in the salon looking at me. I explained to the owner that I was going to tip $15 for $72 worth of services, which is over 20%. The owner waves my $10 bill and goes "Well where's the rest of the money, it's not here!" I told her I had $10 more in my wallet. Then the owner told me to get change from the lady who did my nails. The whole interaction was unbelievably rude, and I was shamed in front of about half a dozen people. This was my first time in. After 12 years of having the same person do my nails, she moved and I began the quest for a new nail salon. Wow! what a chore. No one seems to like their nail salon! I spent a few hours on Yelp and decided to try Heather's. I called and schedule an appointment for a Pink and White fill and a pedicure. I originally gave the P/W Fill a 4 star, she did a nice job, but after less than a week my nails started lifting and cracking and the bright white turned a dull yellowish white. The location is easy to find and I lucked out with a spot right out front. Perfect. I went inside and was directed to Lynn for my Pink and White Fill. She did a nice job on my nails. The only thing is that I am used to the buffing with the polish cream and spinning tool which this salon doesn't do - it's a manual buff and doesn't quite give the finish and shine I like. Now on to the pedicure. I usually have my manicure and pedicure at the same time sitting in a spa chair, but that is not possible here as the spa chairs are in a room in the back and due to ventilation issues a pink and white fill can't be done back there. So, the said they can do it while I get my nails done. I was skeptical and finally relented. The girl who did my pedicure was very nice and did a good job, however it was not the type of pedicure I am use to at all. Bottom line: I will get my nails done somewhere else. My pedicure experience: they bring a dishpan type tub of water for you to soak in, it doesn't stay warm at all and you have to be contorted while your hands are worked on one way and your feet another. My chair rolled and so I kept getting stretched and then re-scooted back into place. The other reason I won't be back for pedicures is that I wasn't really comfortable with the tools and scrubbers they used. Again, I am use to a salon where all the foot scrubbers are single use and the tools are in sterile packages which you see opened and you see them being cleaned and put in there. There is no reuse possibility. That did not happen here. I had no issues after but don't like taking a chance. read more

My feet have never been complimented so much! I got a pedicure done at Heather's a few weeks back, and it lasted with no chipping through a week of clubbing, dancing, salty ocean water, and chlorine-filled pools. The store is reasonably sized and clean. Staff are fairly friendly and don't overburden you with chatting. Don't expect spa-styled chairs w/ jet-tubs. They sit you in an office-chair and manually fill the tubs, which wasn't the most comfortable. I think the tools used here were clean/sterile - but don't quote me on that. Prices were $18 for a pedi and $5 for flower. The flower design was done beautifully and more modern. My bright pink polish was super shiny and sleek. And the 5-minute leg massage nearly put me to sleep! I'll be back, but am still on the hunt for a great nail salon in West LA/Santa Monica. 3.8 stars because this place wasn't super stellar, and they could've had more color selection. read more

$40 for the worst set of acrylic nails I've ever had? I don't think so. I went in with a friend to get our nails done. I sat for an hour and a half (yes, 90 minutes) for these nails. And what do I get? Long, wide, lumpy French-tip acrylics that are uneven and scratched and peeling. The nail tech didn't even bother cleaning up the underside of the nails. I'm not sure if she was new or really just that bad. I also couldn't communicate with her. I told her I want them as short as possible because I can't function with long nails. She didn't understand. I told her, "shorter, much shorter" and finally got fed up trying to explain. The sides bulge out from the nails. They look remarkably fake (and yes, I know, acrylics don't look realistic anyway, but this is ridiculous). I also told her to file the sides so they didn't look so monstrous. Again, communication barrier. I will never come here again and I caution those of you who are regular fake-nail recipients. I'm going to somehow peel or soak these suckers off before work tomorrow because there's no way I can function with these. Even typing this is a struggle. Avoid at all costs. read more

Before you judge me, a male, getting his nails done let me say that I like to take care of myself and that a mani every once in a while feels great - the massage is awesome! Oh and no polish just a buff. This is one of the most friendly, clean, and relaxing salons I have ever been to. Unfortunately I don't remember the manicurist's name but she did a great job and the hand/arm massage felt wonderful. Usually the massage ends at the elbows but she went all the way up to my shoulders. Sweet! I was asked if I wanted a pedicure...umm I've only had one once when my now ex-girlfriend took me for my birthday. Sure why not it felt great the first time. Honestly the girl doing the pedi was very cute and she could tell that I was nervous. Awkward. After I relaxed I actually dozed off since the music was so relaxing, it was extremely quiet, and it felt so good! $25 + $10 tip for a mani/pedi which I think is a pretty good deal considering the environment and friendliness of this place. read more

I have been a nail transient for the past two years. Taking friends recommendations and being like ehh it was ok. I have also had the last minute realization that I need to get my toes done for an event or date and have been subjected to everything to crooked cutting jobs, soaking in cold water and of course polish that doesn't last. I found Heather's while actually searching for an eyelash extension place. They got me in immediately and since I was already in I decided to get a pedi too. So glad I did!! Not only were the Ladies friendly, I notice that they knew all their returning clients by name. My pedi, no My Foot TREATMENT was superb! No tickling when taking off the dead skin, an actual foot and calf massage(NOT LOTION APPLICATION) and the polish was so shining I could almost see my reflection: ) I love this place!! Let me begin by saying this review is strictly for John, the male owner. Ive never encountered such an awful man and it's important I share my experience. The women who work here are truly wonderful and talented (Helen, Lynn, Min) and I would never want to take away business from them. I've been a loyal customer for 2 years and a few weeks ago had a VERY upsetting experience with John and will never return because of it. It was my birthday and I'm 8 months pregnant, mind you, and I came in for my appointment and picked out a color. I accidentally dropped the nail polish on the floor as I sat down (I'm clumsy and preggo?!) and it cracked leaking polish on the floor. Of course, I was horrified and felt terrible. John began to YELL at me telling me that it was "deliberate" and to "go stand out in the street." I was shocked. I've never had someone yell at me in this way at a business especially for an obvious accident. I apologized profusely and he told me if "it didn't come out and stained the floors I would be responsible for the 6k the floors cost." Say, what? The other women looked on, horrified. He continued to scream at me going on about the cost and how I did it on purpose and I said, totally humiliated, "maybe it's best I go." To which he replied, "Get out and never come back." I left in a heap of tears, on my birthday, with janky nails before my dinner with friends. It was horrible and it's terrible to think a person could operate like this. Lynn, I'll miss you and the other women (you do a wonderful job!) but for someone to treat me like that, especially a regular, is absolutely unacceptable. Beware of him. Sigh. Hannah was the best nail person ever, but she has left and hasnt been back in over a year. But to be honest I don't blame her. The man who runs the front is the "guy in charge" and I get the sinking feeling while I was there that all the girls are terrified of him. It was my last time there, I won't return. I felt uncomforable the entire time I was trying to get a mani/pedi. He basically told a girl that he wanted her "gone" after she (very politely) said she couldn't stay late. Like 8 pm late. Presenting, Ladies and Gents...for my 200th review... Big fan. HUGE. I've been here three times, each experience as wonderful as the last...if not better. The first experience was with my Yelpy friend VA. She and I decided to get our mani/pedi on one day after work. For my first experience, I will just say that I'm glad it was the end of the day and I wasn't trying to get back to the office. We were ushered into the back room (w/the 2 spa chairs), and I'll say it was the longest mani/pedi I've had. But, they did a really good job and the hand/foot massages were so relaxing! Second experience was just as delightful, although this time was just a manicure. Third experience was another mani/pedi...just as good as the first place and the color lasted for over 2 weeks! *gasp* 5 shakas, Heather's! I'll be back when I'm in SM! read more

I've been going to Heather's Nail Salon since long before Helen was the owner. Heather and her daughter was always great. I don't go that often, in fact it might be months between my visits, but I can happily say that Helen and her girls are just as thrilled to see me once in a while just as much as they would on a weekly basis. I have never once in all the years I've frequented this nail salon had subpar service, and I'm quite shocked at the reviewers who have said they've had a bad experience. Surely they can't be talking about the same place I've loved and frequented for so many years. Helen and her girls do an excellent mani/pedi, better than any place I've ever been to. I love that they don't take walk-ins if they're busy, they don't want their clients to feel rushed. They also don't do full acrylic sets, only the occasional fill, so you don't get that horrible smell when you walk in there. I always make an appointment, I never feel like they rush to finish my nails, I feel relaxed and cared for while I'm there and the polish looks just as fresh weeks later, that's more than what I can say about any other nail salon in Santa Monica. For $28 you really can't beat the pampering you get. I hope they stay around for a long time because I won't go anywhere else to get my nails done!! I moved to PDR a while back. I have searched high and low for a closer nail salon with the same experience as Helen's. I just went back to Helen's last week for the first time in months, and still this place just shines! I am greeted with a hug from Helen, had different nail techs who were just simply amazing. My spa mani pedi's from Helen's last at least 3 weeks and still look fresh. Everywhere else I have been in the Westside can't even make it past a week. I am willing to pay whatever it takes to have this experience and my nails stay in great shape. The other cruddy reviews for this salon make me laugh at them. Heather's is ok. I tried it out because it is very close to my house & had good reviews. Turns out, it is a small place where they charge $18 for pedicure....with a portable plastic tub, not a spa pedicure. I called ahead at 6pm to see if I could walk in & get a pedicure. The guy on the phone asked if 7:00 was ok. I asked if they had anything earlier. He said "let me talk to the boss" then came back and asked if 6:30 was ok. That was great for me and I arrived a few min before 6:30 to pick my color.............then I waited til after 7 to get my pedicure. It was really unprofessional to give me an appointment and then make me wait for over half an hour. If they didn't have anything available in my time-frame I would have gone elsewhere.(There are PLENTY of nail salons in Santa Monica.......I have had a much better experience at Main Attraction to name one) The lady who did my nails was very sweet but I will not go back here. read more

I used to get manis/pedis quite frequently but stopped since I got too busy with the weekly maintenance. Plus the cost was adding up. However, my co-wokers and friends just told me about cal-gel. It sounded too good to be true - nail polish that lasts for three weeks? Sure, it's more expensive than a regualr manicure, but worth the savings in time. Well, I decided to give it a try. My friend comes to this salon so I booked an 11 AM Saturday appointment on Friday morning. My other friends tell me that the other salons that do cal-gel require at least a week in advance for an appoinment. When I arrived, there were several other clients. I arrived on time, but waited 8 minutes for Helen. (Just so the type A people know.) It was worth the wait. I got a cal-gel french manicure and I love it! I cannot stop looking at my nails. I look like I should be on some OCD drug because I keep holding out my outstretched hands to admire my nails. Helen did a great job. A big thumbs-up for her. After applying each white tip, she asked if I approved. How's that for customer service? Each one of them was fine with me, but I am sure if I expressed any dissatisfation, she would have stopped and re-shaped to my liking. I would definitely go back. I may not be a regualr, since this did take 1.5 hours. However, if I got a solid color, I am sure it would have taken a shorter amount of time. In addition, Helen answered the phones and booked appointments,so expect delays if she does your nails. (Makes me wonder why the only guy in the who place who wasn't doing any nails did not answer the telephone...)
