Love this place! Went here for the second time this weekend because my friend was visiting and had yet another wonderful experience. This is a great place to go with a girlfriend for manis/pedis if you're in the area. They have a special room with 2 spa chairs, and the mani/pedicure includes a heavenly leg and arm massage with scented lotion and a foot mask. It was so relaxing! After a busy day of errands my sister and I decided to get our nails done, mostly because she was partaking in a wedding in the next few days. I got a mani ($15), and my sister got a mani pedi which is a much better combo ($28). The lady doing my nails name was Wendy and it was her first day. She is very skilled and attentive. I loved my arm massage! They charged a $1 fee for using credit cards but it was still a good deal, and we couldn't stop looking at our nails afterwards. read more

Heather's - except the owner's name is Helen and she is fabulous - well except when she is trying to marry off one of the workers to every male friend I bring with me :-) You can't have everything right? So, this place is fabulous. They remember your name, you are ON time and never wait, the spa/mani pedi is two hours long with a great massage to boot. You feel attended to and treated well. Helen keeps clients coming because of all this. She even went so far as to thoroughly explain why she let a girl go - who had worked on me a few times - because she wasn't providing consistent service. She aims to have a place where things are excellent all the time regardless of the person that works on you. I like the business rationale Helen! So why not 5 - yeah, the top coat takes RIDICULOUSLY long to dry. I've never successfully left without noticing a smudge a few hours later, and I have stayed waiting my dutiful half hour before I left. And though the spa is great, the second massage chair in the back doesn't really work and they can get better at painting your nails evenly and not short cutting on a mistake (i was a cosmetologist in my former life, so I know!). That being said, if you go back, they'll fix it for free. So Helen (Heather), I'm a fan, every other Saturday. read more

Like many others, I found Heather's on Yelp (first visit was a couple of years ago). I don't go for nail service often but when I do, I go to Heather's. They are always very nice and pleasant to be around, the shop is wonderfully quiet (ie not moving clients through factory-style) and what other reviewers write about the great long massages and the personal nail kits is absolutely true. The price and location is also great. If they don't do your nails exactly how you like them though, speak up. I've had to ask for a little extra attention to a problem nail before, but fear not - the staff usually aims to please. read more

After seeing so many good reviews on yelp I decided to try this place out. The reason why I'm giving this place a three star is just coz there is nothing special or extraordinary that they do. The ppl are really kind and very nice. Other than that this place is ok. Nothing exceptional about it. They have a above average collection of nail paints. They don't really use beautiful looking equipment for manicure. (They used a steel bowl for my warm water) and it's not even on the cheap side when it comes to price range. I don't really understand all the positive reviews. I went today with friends and was really disappointed. I guess the experience always depends on who your technician is. One of my friends had a beautiful mani and pedi. The other friend was freaked out that they didn't use a new set of utensils when they were doing her pedi - so she cancelled her mani.I just had a plain mani. My technician did a bad job she cut a little too close to my thumb cuticle and its still red. The most disappointing part is the uneven color on my nails. There is a clear gradient from the lack of polish at the base of the nail. It looks sloppy and patchy and its already chipping at the tip. We won't be going back - I don't see the hype about this place. And there is no sign posted but they will charge an extra dollar for debit/credit. read more

I had never gotten a pedicure before, but I relied on all the Yelp reviews and chose some place that sounded clean, since a friend emphasized getting a clean place. I decided to try one since my toe was getting ugly from soccer and volleyball. Any self-consciousness I had was soon extinguished after I walked in today and found more male customers than female customers. The pedicure experience didn't seem all that amazing as a whole, but I had no complaints about this place. The staff was very friendly, and things seemed clean. Although I hear some places have massage chairs, so that's something to look into if I ever get another pedicure. read more

They use some good quality, strong stuff on your nails. Yet, my nails still chipped pretty easily. They also didn't have as great of a color selection as I would have liked. The girl doing my nails seemed fairly young and was incredibly timid and quiet. She also didn't seem very strong, as I didn't feel any of the massage that she gave me. (I really don't think she could have massaged any harder though...) All in all, this place wasn't bad. It just wasn't what I expected. If you want to enjoy yourself, spend extra money for the spa treatment and relax in your own private room with massage chairs in the back. Otherwise, it just isn't worth the price. read more

I used to be a manicurist, so I'm super picky about my mani/pedi services. Sometimes I haven't felt that this place is as clean as it boasts. I do like that the pedicure tubs are lined with plastic bags, that's a pretty creative way for the shop to quickly be sanitary and cost effective. There is a manicurist there that has a big wart on her thumb and didn't try to cover it up. Gross. The owner, Helen, does a good manicure and Min gives a good pedicure. You pretty much have to have an appointment there because they are pretty busy. Definitely not a relaxing atmosphere, but good for a quick fixer upper. read more

Best nail salon I've been too interns of price, cleanliness, timing, and customer service. My nails ALWAYS chip...I don't know what they do at Heathers but my nails manage to stay lovely double the time of any other nail salon. It's awesome! The ladies are all super friendly and accommodating as well! The only issue that I have heard that people have is the man at the front dest. I have heard from friends that they don't like him and don't really enjoy getting their nails done when he is in the shop. I haven't personally had an issue but I thought it worth mentioning. It seems that if you are looking for a mellow experience that this guy changes the energy up so that it isn't as relaxing as you may want. read more

5 stars for their price-- reasonable, the staff is super friendly and detail-oriented, and the service was fast. Fast, is good, however, not when it comes to painting nails. The fact they can finish painting every single coat without letting it dry in between and in such short amount of time (5 min painting all coats) can be a disaster. The top coat can seem dry when you leave the salon, but the paint is so thick and they don't let it dry before painting the next coat is not right. It took hours for the paint to set and dry. As soon as I got in the car, the polish wrinkled and moved. The first time I went, it happened but I wanted to give another try because I thought might be the lady. The second time it happened again with a different lady, so I deserved it. One more thing, they charge you $1 when you pay with credit card. The first time I was there, they didn't mention it at all. Second time, they came back to me and ask if I was ok with $1 charge and I said I didn't pay the first time when I was here. They said they for sure charged it (just didn't tell me I guess). Coming from out of town and got a pedi. I wasn't sure about this place because I am from DC and the prices seemed ridiculously cheap. BUT, since I saw good reviews here I gave it a try. The lady was very detailed-oriented and did a great job with my cuticles - which are always an issue for me. Massage was pretty nice too. Only downside was that they charge an extra dollar if you are paying with credit card - I find that annoying. I would go back though. Just make sure you have cash on you (for the bill AND for tips). read more

Heather's Nail Salon is the best nail salon in Santa Monica. I tried a few places here before taking a friends advice and coming to see Helen/Sydney (she has been coming to them for years). I have been getting my nails done for over 15 years and this is by far the best place I have ever been to for a gel manicure. They take their time to make sure every nail is perfect - the shape/polish/cuticle. I have never gotten so many compliments on my nails, I promise you will love this place! read more

This is my first review on yelp, but here goes.... This place is great. I found it on yelp thanks to the other wonderful reviews. Most of the times I go it isn't very busy and I almost always call to get an appointment the same day and they are more than happy to fit me in. I would have given it five stars, but one time they booked me on a Saturday a week after I had asked for and they didn't do a great job that same time. But I guess everyone has off days. Basically, they are generally great and my manis and pedis usually last a long time. Not too expensive either which is always nice and they always give great hand and foot massages! read more

Short version: * NOT SANITARY * epic language barrier * no attention to detail * insanely overpriced * limited options * cheap polish * bad service * overall HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - Arrived for an 11:30 am appt. on time. - Attended to at 12:30 pm (after several women late for their appointments/ walk ins breezed in) - Left at 2:30 pm after having to show the professional how to paint my nails STORY version: Needed to get our nails done in the area; made an appointment. Arrived on time. No existing line but all the staff were busy. Chose our colors (from a very limited selection). We were kept waiting and waiting and waiting. Women walked in off the street "who had appointments as well" and were taken and worked on even though they were late to their appointments. If you choose the $25 mani/ pedi, they put you in a chair in the main area and cart a bin of water to you to soak your feet. If you choose the "spa" mani/ pedi for $45 you get to sit in a spa chair that nearly all salons use for customers. We chose the spa and then were kept waiting in massage chairs with ever cooling water. They began working on my friend and I a full hour after our appointment time. The pedicure went fine except explaining what I wanted done to my nails was a challenge. One or 2 workers worked as a translator. For the manicure I explained what I wanted done to my nails (a decoration that I'd had before) and explained how to do it. I could do it myself. EASILY. I even showed them a picture! Right when I thought the end was in sight, I'd find myself back at square one. I ended up showing the girl how to paint my nails!!!! Just WTF???!!!??!!? Super cheap top coat. Used no base coat. Put oil on my nails! The top coat started to chip near the edges of my cuticles the next day. Overall dissatisfied. Never going there again. Just warning you. DONT GO. DO NOT DO IT. read more

Like any woman would do, she went back and politely ask them to redo her nails. After a little bit of frustration they did. Two days later her nails chipped again and they were GEL. Mani was wonderful, she didn't want me to strain myself, so she would walk back and forth to work on either hand and she made me feel comfortable with engaged small talk. Pedi was incredible! He must of massaged my legs for 10 mins and I loved every minute of it! That is the best part about getting your nails done. $24 + tip and I was as happy as I could be.... will I go back?! I'm almost wary to write this review. This nail salon is a special gem on the Westside...one you almost want to keep to yourself! I've been going to Heather's Nail Salon for a few years now and have never walked away disappointed. The environment is peaceful...they frown upon cell phone usage, which is a welcomed respite from the intrusion of inappropriately personal cell phone conversations that Angelenos have become accustomed to hearing. Let us not forget that when you speak loudly on your cell phone about 'the plight of returning blue jeans to Nordstrom'...everyone can hear you...and no one really wants to... For a very reasonable price, you are given the most impeccable manicure and/or pedicure, a lengthy massage, and leave with the peace of mind that you have not contracted some sort of Ebola virus from dirty instruments. When I leave Helen's Nail Salon, I go back into the jungle of LA with a renewed calm and a set of fingernails that are perfect polished and filed down to points, so that I can scratch the eyes out of the next person who chooses to talk too loudly on their cellular phone. read more

3 weeks ago I found Heather's... The price, affordable. The service, tender & meticulous. The overall experience, wonderful. Even when my Hubby's tub started overflowing onto the floor the ladies there laughed with us. I will admit that I am not a fan of the huge massage chairs with the tub attached (what you sit in for the Spa pedicure 1hr $30) but I felt better once I realized how clean everything in this place was :) I'm an infection phobe. I'm sure there are others like me! The hour long spa pedicure, with it's mineral salt scrub, leg melting massage, and tingling foot mask, will be a repeat event in the near future. read more

Ok so after having a horrible experience at classy nails and having my gel tips start chipping immediately, I needed to find another solution. Heather's nails was it. Monique is awesome. She did my tips over with silk wraps instead. They look amazing. They were all so friendly in there too. Monique said my name a few times and made it feel like she actually cared to know who I was. I was one of the last people getting my nails done there but they didn't make me feel as though they were throwing me out. Which is important to me when I'm trying to get my nails done on a Friday night after work. I will definitely try some of their other services in the future. I will go back there for sure!! I've been to Heather's Nail Salon once (so far) and so I'm limiting myself to 4 "Yay! I'm a fan" stars. Throw a dime in L.A. and you'll hit a nail salon. How does one choose? I tried Heather's earlier this month and knew I had found my pedi-home. Ask for the spa pedi ... It's a small room with only two chairs, there's a big window opening to the rest of the salon so you don't feel closed in, but meanwhile, you get the comfort of a more quiet environment.
