Been coming here for almost 2 years and the food is normally good. Had a mid miscommunication with the person making my sandwich. I ask for my usual , x2 Pastrami sandwich on Dutch crunch with egg, toasted. The person replies back "so you want the breakfast sandwich?" Honestly , I don't know the names. I say yes. Continue along to pay. The person at the registers ask the sandwich maker what I ordered to which he replied "egg deluxe". I hear that and think ok, my sandwich should have egg and the deluxe is the fixings (lettuce , tomato, sprouts... the works... you know... deluxe.) I pay and leave. Get to my destination and notice our sandwiches just had Pastrami, egg, and cheese. I make my way back and talk to the maker asking if what I ordered should have had the toppings to which he said "no you ordered the breakfast sandwich, that doesn't come with it". The person at the register says "Yes that's what we confirmed at the register. Breakfast sandwich egg deluxe." I mentioned that I wanted my usual sandwich with all the toppings and he replies "For that order, you need to ask for a pastrami sandwich with egg". Which is what I literally ordered. I'm grateful there was no protest and the sandwiches were quickly remade, however it was poorly made. They weren't toasted, 1 of them was loaded with sprouts (I should have taken a photo), and didn't even warm up the pastrami. When finished, they placed it for me to take. I said sorry and thank you to the person that remade the sandwich and they just ignored me and walked away. I thanked the person at the cash register but they were making a drink and couldn't reply so I just left. Really bad experience. I guess next time I'll study the menu and be sure to use the right words, if I ever even go back. Food is good enough to give this a 3, however the atrocity they gave us was no good. My order: Lox Bagel with everything on it (the most expensive item) I love the brand "Bagel Street Cafe". My favorite location is the one located on 12st Oakland: the perfect bagel, very good fillings, and is perfectly toasted. The lines are fast and efficient. (The Berkeley one is very good too). I've tried the Alameda location near South Shore Shopping Mall. It is the worse of all with extreme little filling, and the most expensive at $12. The inside is extremely rundown. Customers from Starbucks next door comes inside to sit and trash the tables without ordering from the shop. In general, the atmosphere at this location is "dank": bad. The bagel itself costs a lot, but they barely add any lox. This is the worst location: extremely overpriced, and poor filling. The bagel was not even toasted right. This Dublin location is extremely stingy on the filling; they lack efficiency and lines get way too long. I always get a lox bagel with everything on it. For the most expensive item, it should at least be put together without everything falling apart. I pay for the expensive lox filling, so don't be cheap about it. At least it is better than the Alameda location. read more

After a short line, I placed my order for a California club with cheddar cheese and avocado. My sandwich was prepared with care. Such a yummy place. Came and had a breakfast sandwich and my husband had a chicken club. Both were so good we couldn't get a picture. We came about 30 minutes before they closed and they were out of a lot a bagels but this is a compliment not a complaint. It's such that good. Because it was before closing there was plenty of seats and the AC is definitely appropriated on a hot day. The place was also very clean. I walked in around 2:30, just as they were closing up shop. They close quite early, around 3:00 p.m., so the choices were somewhat limited by that time, which is why I ended up with the 'garlic bagel.' The last time I had a salmon bagel was in New York, and the flavor profile here was very similar. I should note that the one in New York was slightly larger and had more salmon, but that was pre-pandemic (or pre-inflation) days. Would I go back? Absolutely. As you walk in your see large fridges with drinks and cream cheese displayed, which you can buy. The staff here is quick and they'll attend to you fast. The combo bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese is my favorite combination and will satisfy your hunger. Now to the hidden gem. It's the pizza bagel. The iced lattes are great (and I'm not even a big coffee drinker), and the bagel sandwiches are fantastic. The bagels are huge, fluffy and chewy and just fantastic. The bagel and lox sandwich was excellent. I especially love how the bagels are toasted just right, so that they're warm with a light crisp, but not so toasted that they cut up the roof of your mouth when you eat them (like I've experienced other places). The bagels and sandwiches are large, the portions are generous and the prices are more than fair. Woke up today and craved a breakfast bagel sammie with lots of veggies. Found this place on Yelp and decided to try out their veggie egg bagel sammie with double portions of the veggies. It was very delicious and the size was HUGE! It was easily split between my husband and myself. We also got half a dozen of bagels to try later on so cannot comment on those. But if they are anything like this bagel sammie, then I'm sure they will be very good. We also got a side of lox (my fav) cream cheese and strawberry cream cheese as well. So far the lox one I was able to try some on my breakfast sammie and it was really good. The only downside was that the breakfast sammie was incredibly wet by the time it got to me. About a 10min drive? I suspect it was from the pickled veggies because the whole paper it was wrapped in was literally dripping in light yellow/green juices. The bottom of the bagel also got soggy but hey that didn't stop me from enjoying this amazing beast of a sandwich! Will def try them again! read more

I went to Bagel Street Cafe and waited approximately 20 minutes to get a Poppyseed Bagel with cream cheese and lox. There was a line out the door waiting, but when I got inside, they didn't seem to be working efficiently to get the customers in and out. There was a bottle neck of people waiting to pay for their orders with the cashier. I opened up my bagel sandwich to check it out before I left and the lady put minimal cream cheese on it. I handed my sandwich back to the man behind the counter and told him my sandwich had barely any cream cheese on it and he got an attitude. He responded saying that's how much cream cheese they put on it instead of just giving me more cream cheese. He was wrong because when I bought a bagel and lox sandwich from this location a few weeks ago, the lady put more cream cheese on my sandwich. What happened to the customer service attitude to give the customer what she or he wants? It will always be a problem if I get a bagel and lox sandwich and I have more onion on it than cream cheese. I was generous to give my experience at Bagel Street Cafe 2 stars instead of one for their lack of good customer service. read more
