This is my first time at this bagel store.I ordered two eggs, cheese and sausage on an everything bagel. I also had them add salt and pepper to the sandwich, thank God I did because the sandwich was tasteless except for the salt and pepper. The sausage must've been a frozen Restaurant Depot patty with no flavor. And the eggs were bland. The cheese didn't even taste like cheese and the bagel was basic. One of Huntington's best traditional bagel spot with variety of cream cheeses and sandwiches. Their fresh, in-house-made bagels--especially the everything and cinnamon raisin are my favorite. Aaman makes perfect Sunnyside-up and always greets with a warm smile. It's my go-to breakfast spot every morning. Busy, but Line moves quickly, the lox sandwich with capers highly recommended. For Mother's Day, I ordered platters, and the salmon platter was the highlight of the gathering! read more

I hate to write a negative review, but I do so in hopes that ownership will take notice. Place comes across as "not clean" - and there are no signs that ownership wants to make you feel welcome. Bought 8 bagels, half a pound of veg CC, half a pound of baked salmon salad and the NY Post - $26. Seems really expensive. Quality across the board was middling at best. Bagels didn't seem fresh and the spreads were mediocre. Owners need to wake up and think about what they want to do here. How do they like to be treated when they go out and spend their hard earned money. Really not worth more than 2 stars, but do not want to hurt these guys - only wake them up. My advice : start from scratch, make a plan, close for a week or two and come back stronger and better. This town has endle$$ money - do better. read more

There are not many bagel shops in town - and this is the best one. NOT TO BE SEXIST but I shy away from thin young girls who work at sandwich / ice cream / food making places. They USUALLY make sandwiches as if they are preparing them for THEMSELVES . Therefore - they usually make them slim and sparse (because they themselves do not eat much). My BLT was made as if the young lady was being MICRO-MANAGED as she made it , by a person that was trying to cut corners "No, don't use too much bacon!" , "No don't use too much LETTUCE!", "No , don't use too much MAYO!" . I almost heard a little voice in my head go "NO, don't put more than 12 poppy seeds on top of that bagel !". Seriously. I got home and looked at the horizontal profile of my cut-in-half sandwich and there were barely any ingredients . I also did not taste any mayo; but upon my last bite, I saw a single tear-drop of mayo on the edge . So it was there , but probably placed with an eye-dropper ( "No, only 4 eye-drops of MAYO-- NOT 5!!") . PRO-TIP: if you are on line here - and a petite young lady asks "Can I help you?", pretend you are still looking and let the sucker BEHIND you get helped by her. Then wait for the next available GUY (hopefully a chubby one) to make your sandwich. Again: SEXIST ? Perhaps. BUT this has happened WAY too many times to be a coincidence. And not just HERE- anyplace else that hand prepares meals. Not even sure if there were 2 full slices of bacon on the bagel. read more

Be forewarned they charge your card more money later in the day and do not respond when you ask them why. We ordered 3 bagel sandwiches. We asked for the two to be toasted and the third to have salt pepper ketchup. They charged our card an extra $3.50 (more then 10% of the entire bill) for "special instructions". Too many other bagel places in town to support a place that charges you extra for salt pepper ketchup and to toast a bagel. Completely ridiculous. Also a side note, I ordered a large coffee, there were no selections as to how you take it, I would assume it would come black unless otherwise requested. It came with milk and sugar. read more

We went in looking for a fight after reading the reviews, and left with a peace treaty. Here's why: - bagels are very very good - excellent selection of cream cheeses - nova salmon fresh and clean - even the coffee is good - one staff member was quite friendly, the other not so much. So they may not win any public relations contests. But be sensible, don't make unreasonable demands and enjoy your food. We ordered via grub hub at work; we work in a nursing home Bayville. We accidentally left it on "pick-up." We didn't realize until it was too late, so when we called, we explained that with the current pandemic we were understaffed and could not leave our facility, and the staff at Bagel Works were amazing. They made an exception to deliver our order to us, and on top of that, they included extra bagels/cream cheese. We are so grateful that they did this for us, it was so kind. The food and iced coffee that we ordered were also absolutely DELICIOUS!! I know that I will definitely going back here; I would certainly make a special trip just for the ice coffee. I have been to Bagel Works on numerous occasions because I live in the area. Each time the service has been ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, yet I returned, out of convenience, hoping that perhaps the terrible service I received was a fluke or one-time occurrence. Even with no line, they still manage to make you wait because they are talking to other employees while they spread cream cheese on a bagel. I have never been able to grab a bagel in under 10 minutes. The employees are also downright rude to customers, and have very nasty attitudes. My order came to $4.54, (for a bagel and iced coffee) and the woman yelled at me when I tried to hand her my visa-debit card. She demanded that I had to spend at least five cents more if I wanted to use it. Besides being ridiculously rude and cheap, they don't even deliver on their products: their food isn't very good, and they have never once filled their iced coffee up all the way for me or any other person I've gone in there with. You're really better off going down the block to another bagel store for better food, and much better customer service. I WILL NEVER go back there ever again, no matter how convenient it may be. read more

I popped in on a Monday morning at about 7:30am to grab a bagel and coffee. Just about $7 for a large coffee and bagel with veggie cream cheese. There was barely any cream cheese on the bagel. Wide selection of cold bottled beverages. And the bagels and spreads, fantastic. They do everything very well. My favorite bagel from there is the whole wheat sunflower. Only bagel shop in Huntington, and pretty darn good at that. I've been coming here for about 15 years now, and they have rarely disappointed. Best tuna fish I've ever tasted. The bagels and muffins are named fresh and there is always a huge selection - go with banana yogurt muffin and sesame seed sunflower bagel. They also make delicious egg sandwiches, though the bulkie rolls could use some improvement. Chicken salad is average. Reasonable prices too, even though they essentially have a monopoly on bagels in the Village. Lastly, the owner is very sweet and down to earth, which is a big plus in my book. read more

I've been here twice, and will never go back again. The manager was extremely rude to the employees; barking orders, creating discomfort for the customers. The second time I went it was close to closing, and this time the rudeness was towards the customers. Turning the lights off in the shop while waiting to be served, and it my business seemed unwanted. Rude, and disrespectful. And the bagel... nothing to rave about. Boo! But for all those people complaining about them messing up your orders...I have stood there listening to the orders some of you people come up with, "egg whites, no salt, half with lite scallion cream cheese, toasted but not too much, coffee half regular/half decaf..." please just stay home. I remember going here years ago, and being treated very poorly by one of the cashiers as I paid for my food. I sat down with my tray, and posted a negative review here on Yelp about the experience. I kid you not- five minutes later, the dad of the rude cashier marches up to my table and barks at me, "Did you just post a bad review about my daughter?!" He was inches away from my table with an angry expression on his face. He made me SO uncomfortable that I walked straight out, leaving the tray with my food sitting on the table. He couldn't handle a truthful review about his obnoxious daughter so he intimidated me. Found a hair in my bacon egg and cheese, the wax paper they use sticks to food, I generally don't care about the packaging but it's annnoying to take off. The hair is just nasty, telling me whoever made my sandwich didn't care enough. When i call to order food so i can pick it up, i do it to save time, but somehow i always get stuck there for about 15-20 minutes. My order has been wrong everytime i call - so i refuse to even call anymore, very frustrating. read more

Once again gave this place another try.. horrible horrible horrible... kid was using his bare hands texting, in between making my sandwich. Soooo gross, and literally holding the cold cut meat with his hands as he slices it, no gloves!!!!!! Absolutely grossssssss omg. Then doesn't even wrap it up once he puts it back in, this is how sickness is spread with bacteria on the pieces. Decent breakfast sandwiches. I've had equally good at other bagel stores, so while this place has good food, it's not one-of-a-kind. Yesterday, a friend and I went in. We were trying to read the menu, which is scattered all over the back wall behind the register. A lady working there who looked like she was late 40s or early 50s.....she asked us if we were ready to order. We told her we still needed a few moments to decide. She immediately looked annoyed & had an attitude. Me & my friend exchanged looks asking each other what just happened. Another gal entered the store. So this same lady behind the counter stalled taking this other gal's order. She told this other customer that she can't take her order yet because we're "taking long to decide". What?? Did I miss something? So my friend & I said, "don't worry you can go ahead in front of us". So the lady working in the bagel store had such an attitude saying "I'm still waiting for them". (Meaning us) We re-emphasized that it's ok to skip us while we're looking over the menu. But the lady working at the store looked even more annoyed. She said to us.... "You're still not ready?" My friend & I were boggled. This experience was unexpected & distracting so we still did not make up our minds as quickly as the worker wanted us to....but we weren't holding up the line.... Instead we stepped aside, right away, when we just walked in. My friend decided on an egg sandwich. So the woman looks at me and says, "are you having one too?" so I said "uhm, I'm not sure yet, but you can continue taking care of her". So with an attitude she said "are you having one or not?" If you're having an egg sandwich I can make them at the same time ya' know." Me & my friend felt uneasy & were contemplating walking out....but we were so hungry we decided to just bite the bullet. We were actually quite humble & quiet. We were not expecting an issue. I noticed that the older workers here seem rude & easily annoyed when a customer doesn't immediately know what they want. This was our second time here. We noticed both times that the workers here seem rushed to get your order. Some if the workers here seem impatient if a customer is still deciding or doesn't immediately give their order. This is not ideal customer service I feel disappointed. Customers don't deserve to be rushed or spoken to like they're an inconvenience if they have questions or don't immediately have their order outlined. I just read other reviews about how rude some of the staff here is. They need to fine tune their customer service skills. read more

I've been here for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast sandwiches are over priced and have barely anything on them. When I ordered my sandwich I saw on the board I could get it on a roll or a hero, I asked for a hero and she forced me to get a roll. The sandwich was supposed to have melted Swiss, it was ice cold. It's also supposed to come with a side salad, which it didn't and I had to ask for. This place is too pricey for the terrible service and quality. On the positive side, the bagels are good; at least as good as any on Long Island, and as we know, Long Island bagels are quite superior. The baked goods, spreads, and so on, are all of high quality. On the negative side, the place is usually messy if not downright dirty. The folks behind the counter are generally quite blase, don't engage you in any banter or conversation, and seem not to have been trained to clean up the eating areas when the shop is (relatively) quiet. We used to go there all the time; now we avoid Bagel Works, although we can walk there from home, preferring to take a short car ride to go to a competitor whose shop's ambiance is upscale, and more importantly - clean and neat. read more

Should have taken the cue to just leave while I was waiting 5 mins for the counter guy to finish his story and take our order. I asked for hungry man my co worker asked for a breaded chicken cutlet sandwich with bacon on a roll. I ended up with a nasty $10.00 omelette, not a hungry man. Was simply told that's how it's made. No where on the menu board does it say omelette. My coworkers sandwich was made with 1 tiny piece grilled chicken the wrong Dressing and two pieces of bacon and then they charged him 12.00 for that.
