On my hunt to finding the perfect bagel I found this place. It just re-opened and it was pretty busy. The had a large selection pastries and danishes but they definitely were not made there because they were all individually wrapped. They had a decent selection of bagels which I really think that they made there. The bagels had were solid and had a great sheen to them. They were pretty decent size and we're about an inch or more thick. They were thick. I bought a couple of bagels (sesame and pumpernickel) at $1 a piece. If you are a bagel scooper (you know who you are) then these are perfect for you. I personally like to eat the whole bagel and thought it was bready but it's better than a supermarket bagel. read more

This place reeks of greediness and the owner does not make this place one bit better--it's the guy who is always at the register that can't care to crack a smile, doesn't greet you, and treats you like you're only a number, good for your money. A quick stop into Bagels Plus makes the morning so easy. It's on my way to work. They offer a variety of breakfast dishes to go. Most people I see order to take it out. However seating is available inside. Perhaps 6-8 tables or so. It's clean and the service is quick and efficient. I definitely recommend. read more

Went inside to order Cream cheese with salmon and coffee. 1st time customer. While I was waiting, the guy on the Deli side asked me what I wanted, I said the coffee I wanted and he dismissed it. He told me I had to order it from the cashier. Then he asked what I wanted to eat, and I said salmon with creme cheese in a bagel. He asked toasted and I said no. Apparently only the cashier makes the coffee and the rest make the sandwiches. They gave me my order and I took it home, only to find out that the salmon was missing from the cream cheese with salmon that I specifically ordered. I had to walk 5 blocks back and speak to the manager. He apologized and said to call them and they'll send a delivery guy to bring me my order if they mess up again. Gee thanks. I informed them that it was my first time there, the manager apologized again. One of the guys that does the sandwiches kept staring me down while I waited for my food. This place recently reopened and I don't know what the heck happened. I guess the new people they hired have just never worked with sandwiches before? I would give them the benefit of the doubt if they were super busy when I went, but that was not the case. I mean.. when you have a menu of sandwiches, I'm shocked to be asked multiple times what comes on the sandwich (from their own menu). Then when I was paying, the person on the register seemed to be making up prices. First my sandwich was $6 + $0.50 for each topping (side note: 50 cents for lettuce? are you serious?). Then when i brought that up it changed to $9, which is the price of a sandwich on hero not a roll. Lastly, I had 2 drinks. The person on the register didn't include those in the order, so they were added on as tip (this has happened two different times). I've been living in Woodside for the past 11 years and this is our place to go when we want bagels.The bagels are really good, it's what one would expect from a NY-bagel. This is what everyone talks about. Unfortunately a couple of years ago the shop was sold and a different owner came to town. The new owner is a snake, cheap as hell. He would do everything in his power to save a penny. Extra ham will cost you $2 (you get only one slice of ham), so are extra egg. A dozen of bagels costs $10, but if you order 10 bagels he will also charge you $10 and he will get mad at their employees for telling you to take 2 more. It doesn't matter if you've been a client for a decade, the guy doesn't care. He will be rude and treat you poorly. At least Mr. Krabs is funny, this guy is not. read more

I've been coming to this bagel shop for close to ten years. The quality of the bagels has gradually declined over the course of the years. The bagels are burnt and stale most days now. But what really brings me here is the absolutely awful costumer service being provided by the owner. I was literally scolded by the owner over the phone for not answering either my door or my phone (my door was never rang) and later I found out he had not actually written my apartment number on the ticket. One star for Bagels Plus. The second star goes to the hard working guys in the back who are always fast and attentive. The owner could take a lesson on costumer service from those guys. read more

It's the neighborhood bagel shop. Bagels are OK it's just annoying that they started to charge $0.15 for toasting. I mentioned recently they are open until 9 p.m. as they use to close by 5:30 p.m. I guess they will be hurting from the upcoming Dunkin Donuts shop across the street that will be opening up soon and they are trying to find new way to serve the neighborhood. I would like them to do well as small business so I would suggest they work on better quality Bagels, Pricing and listen to your customers and wave $0.15 toasting charge as most of your customers are annoyed by it. Food is okay, not the best tasting but it is not gross either. I agree about the other reviewers, the owner is pretty nasty (to customers and also his staff). Also you have to be careful on the prices, the cashiers either don't know the prices or they are trying to take your money because they will charge a higher price unless you tell them it's wrong (then they'll give an excuse that what you ordered costs more) but I confirmed with another employee the next day not he price and I was right the cashier was trying to overcharge me. I gave one star for the food and the other star because the guys that actually make your food are nice. read more

I used to order regularly from here, when I worked down the block, this was about 2007 or so. Since then the bagel quality has steadily decreased, and they are just pieces of hard dough with holes in them. They were hit hard by rising commodity prices and the increasing cost of coffee beans, but their overall quality is lacking. Back in 2007, the bagels were awesomeness, soft and warm and perfect but now I can't even finish one of them, They taste like cardboard now. My go to Bagel place in the morning. Nothing special, delicious breakfast sandwiches, decent service. As to the people asking why they charge to toast a bagel, as a food service person it's mostly because of the time needed. Now I know someone is going to say you just pop it in and take it out, no cost, but time is money, even twenty seconds, even more when it throws their momentum off, especially when many people are waiting because someone wants it a certain shade of golden brown. With that being said I get my breakfast sandwiches on a toasted AND buttered bagel, and gladly pay extra for it :) Prices do vary depending on who rings you up each day, but not by much. I am a big fan of bagels and not moving on Sundays. When I lived in Astoria, I was spoiled by Brooklyn Bagel delivery but alas, they will no longer deliver to me even though I am less than a mile away from the Broadway location. I know because I've definitely begged them to reconsider. I've found a suitable replacement in Bagels Plus which has whole wheat everything bagels, jalapeno cream cheese and amazing prices. I ordered two egg, sausage and cheese bagels, two bagels with jalapeno cream cheese, a large coffee and a chocolate milk and it was around $16 delivered to me. One day, my order was around $5 and they still delivered right to my door. Everything is always fresh and hot, but I believe they only take cash. All that being said, the bagels themselves are not the scrumptious, fluffy-yet-crispy, perfect bagels found elsewhere in New York. They are also not the flat, flavorless, strange dough circles found at certain chain coffee stores. These bagels are somewhere in between but just perfect for those lazy Sundays that fill my life. read more

Recently I have been grabbing a quick breakfast from them on the weekends while on the go. The place isn't super fancy, but their sandwiches speak for themselves!! I haven't been able to digest bagels in recent years (probably the reason I stopped coming here for a little while) but I am able to order a bacon, egg, & cheese on croissant instead while my bf grabs his bagel fix & tries ordering new combinations every visit we make. For under $13 two people can grab a hearty breakfast with 2 drinks & walk away full & satisfied and not "overly stuffed". I come to this Bagel store everyday before work. I will admit that they food is consistently good but their prices for food other than bagels is outrageous. The staff are really nice and you will get your food very quickly, which is good when your in a rush to go to work. But the prices are outrageous. Maybe they have student prices because a student ordered a larger sandwich than me but paid less. I was very confused. Im going to try other breakfast spots. I have been a customer since Bagels Plus opened many years ago. There every day of the week for morning bagel and tea. There for many lunches. Always there buying a dozen bagels for home. Missed it when bus crashed into it and it was closed for many, many months. When Covid hit, I still went for take out. Sorry to say it has changed for the worse. The women behind the counter are extremely rude and nasty. A dozen bagels which cost $12.00, are stuffed into a paper bag! Bag rips and bagels fall all over the floor which sends these women into fits of laughter. One would think a plastic bag would be supplied, or two paper bags of six bagels? The bagels are then picked up from floor and placed back into baskets for resale! Customers are opening the soup kettle, looking into them. We have seen people serving soup with unloved hands. The soup pours over their unloved hands back into kettle. We are rethinking our loyalty to our once favorite bagel place! UGH! read more
