Finally a place that knows apple fritters are supposed to have apple in in and not just apple juice. Get em while they are hot! Delicious, moist, and great texture filld with chunks of apples. A note, while Yelp shows they have gender natural restrooms, they do not have ANY restrooms for customers. I asked when I was there and had to schlep to Starbucks for the rest room. This is the best donuts that ive come across and Im picky. Their donuts are better than Danny Trejo's. However, i got their vietnamese coffee and it was way too sweet. And ordered and got charged for avocado on my bagel, and didnt get it and was already at the beach when i noticed. So, check your orders. This was the best experience in customer service I had in a while. Owned by a husband and wife who are super friendly. I used to come to the donut shop when I was a kid and had to bring my kid. When we got there, to my surprise, it was a different spot. We gave it a chance and discovered a new favorite spot. They had donuts, bagels, and these delicious ballers with different toppings on top. By the way, the donut was so fluffy and the coffee delicious. I'm very picky when it comes to my coffee. A few of my favorites have been Blue Bottle, Commissary groundwork's to name a few. For home I brew Trystero. I gave this place a shot cause it's waking distance from my house and I had heard it was locally owned and operated. My first order was a cold brew, from the first sip I knew it was groundwork's! I asked one of the the staff who turns out to be Lydia(one of the owners) and she had this passion about coffee that you don't see at too many other places. The kicker was their pastries. Fritters? AMAZING, Donuts? Damn DELICIOUS . Organic, fresh baked, homemade recipes made by THEM in house. Also the over night oats are out of this world. Not sure what the concept is here, but I'm not a fan. "Ballers & Brew" took over the Donut Prince - a small, but well-loved, fixture of the '504 community for decades. When Donut Prince was sold, the recipes and techniques for making donuts were transferred to the new owner(s), who said the recipes would remain the same [https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/after-nearly-50-years-owner-of-burbanks-iconic-donut-prince-retires/2496944/?amp=1] This commitment to preserving the legacy of the Donut Prince's seems to have been reneged on - either by design or by poor execution. About a year ago, when the new shop opened, I decided to try it by ordering a dozen assorted donuts. I received 7 plain glazed and 5 other donuts of different varieties. Now I don't know about you, but when I ask for an assortment of donuts, I don't expect more than half my order to be one single type of donut. In addition to the lack of actual variety, the glazing on the plain glazed donuts wasn't made properly. It never set, and remained liquid, resulting in a wet, oozy, messy experience. The only redeeming part of my visit was a mocha coffee that was actually enjoyable. I returned today to order a mocha. When I walked up to the window, the glass panel at the order counter was closed and there was a sign near it imploring customers to come inside. I went around the side to see if maybe there was another order window (and to see if someone was working). Instead, I found a young employee hiding behind a refrigeration unit on her phone, completely oblivious to my presence. Eventually, she looked up, saw me, and waved me back over to the closed order window to take my order. The menu says the large mocha is $5.50. When the order was rung up, the total was $6.34. Even accounting for Burbank's high sales tax (which arguably shouldn't even apply to a coffee to go), this was higher than it should have been. I asked about that and was told the menu price was wrong, and that prices had gone up because of new coffee cup sizes. Um... what?!? If the price has gone up, you need to update your menu (which, judging from its quality and condition, was simply printed on a color printer and laminated). The employee told me she would let the owners know. Yeah, maybe you should. After all "bait and switch" business practices are illegal. ‍ I paid for my drink and scoped out the rest of the offerings while I waited for it to be prepared. There are a handful of donut varieties, but nothing like the selection that existed in the Donut Prince days. The donuts in the case look like generic mass-produced donuts you can find at a Randy's, Winchell's, or any other chain donut shop. They have also added a freezer with about 10 varieties of ice cream. I guess I'm lost on this. Are you a donut shop? A coffee shop? An ice cream shop? I hate to break the news to you, but there used to be an ice cream store next door in the 80's called "Ice Cream & Things" and it didn't do particularly well in this neighborhood (it's main draw was a tabletop Pac-Man game). And what happened to keeping the old Donut Prince recipes? Whatever you are trying to be, I'm not sure I'm interested in returning to find out. read more

Delicious and addictive! Apple Fritters are homemade everyday. The maple glaze ballers with a scoop of ice cream is are arguably my favorite treat on the planet! And I am a sucker for the fruit loop covered glazed donuts. My wife loves the Nutella filled ones and of course the chocolate. I haven't tried the boba yet but the coffee is some of the best of any "mom and pop" place I've tried in Los Angeles. All the ice cream is locally sourced too. Lydia and Frank are the owner operators and are the nicest people I've ever met. There son and daughter help run the place as well as a handful of staff.
